Please increase Fate times for Dailies.

I tried to do the boar fate.

I am doing my dailies while queued for Frontlines and storyline roulette to maximize my time on my new relic.

Waiting 45+ mins to do a fate for it to die in 27 seconds and not being able to join a party or I would loss my 64+ mins in the queue for frontlines only to get bronze and inturn no drop. Isn't fun or a very good use of my time.


Please update these fates to 15 min timers. I think that would be fair.

I don't do the FATE based dailies. Although you need 18 Vanu for an item, I do those instead. Much quicker that way. In addition, keep an eye out for the FATES while you do the other dailies. If they are up, do them and bank it for a later day.

The FATE based ones are:
Amalj'aa: Pulling Fangs (Quenching the Flame)
Sahagin: Removing the Stain (Watch your Tongue)
Kobold: Wrath of the Roundsman (Making the Rounds)
Kobold: A Coblyn Catastrophe (Full Metal Alchemist)
Sylph: What a Boar (Boar Wars)

I do 3 Vanu dailies and 9 non-Vanu, and can't tell which are FATE and which are not until I take them.

That FATE used to pop for me quite often when we were running them out there. It was due to an adjustment they made a long time ago, which is likey the issue you are facing now. The FATE's there may not be very active these days, so the respawns have slowed down. Go clear them for a bit and you may see it spawn. Worked int he past for me.

I just memorize the quest names.

I think the FATE times are fine really, I don't mean to sound harsh but it was your own decision to stay in your DF queue and not join the party.

I like to do the FATE's whenever they are up so I have the item already before even accepting the quest. I recommend doing this ^^

One issue with the fates on beast tribe quests is that a fate will not appear if there are too many fates of the same level running in the nearby area. If you clear the fates you don't want, it can cause the fate you are waiting on to become available sooner.

Back when people were regularly leveling beast tribe reputations, you always had people clearing fates associated with level 42 and 45 quests. Now everyone is waiting for the level 48 quest fate, and without anyone clearing the other fates, it takes longer for them to spawn.

Of course, the design philosophy of the game has moved away from forcing players to wait for fates. It isn't gameplay to pad your game with afk timers. There is one more important lesson developers need, though. If you are going to have players revisit old content, the developers need to revisit it first.

Yep, I've got an inventory page with 4 types of unidentified items, 6 types of crystals, 3 or 4 types of fate items, and eventually will have varying amount of 4 types of crafted items (gotta pick them up when someone undercuts on the mb). Much of this will remain in my inventory for at least a month, possibly much longer depending on how many relics I want to eventually create. It's not like the game has inventory space issues, right?

I have all of my crafters level 50+ and I'm working on multiple relics. I put things on my retainers unless I'm going to need them at that moment. My inventory has a lot of free space and gathering FATE items before I turn them in really isn't affecting me that much other than helping me out a lot.

If you abandon a beast tribe quest, you'll actually get the quest allowance back. So if you get a FATE quest, you can just abandon it.

Yesterday I had all 4 beast tribes give me FATEs as well as the 2 needed for the daily hunts as well.

I spent about 10 hours waiting on 6 FATEs. At the very least their spawn times need to be significantly reduced.

They just need to add the beastmen currency to more than just the last set of dailies. If 6, or even all 9 dailies had access to the currency, you could pick and choose which quests you wanted to do WITHOUT being forced into using the less efficient vanu vanu quests. You would still be limited to 12 tokens a day, but you wouldn't have to go afk with boredom for 20 minutes.

I can't comprehend the logic for gating the tokens in the first place. The only excuse to having tokens limited to the last set of quests is to reward those players who have max rank with all of the beast tribes. We all clearly have level 60 characters, so the quests are all completely lacking in challenge no matter which set of quests you select each day. And as someone with all beast tribe reps maxed out, I already have 6 mounts and 12 minions. I don't need more reward for my months of grinding this simple content. It's not something a player can grind out in a week, or even a single month, so having it completed shouldn't be a limiting factor on relic drops.

This is like gating a relic drop behind having completed the 2.X sightseeing log. It's content that might not please a large amount of the community, and they can't even earn relic drops while working on the first stages of the reputation grind itself.

I think the problem is that a lot of you don't know how fate spawns work. As someone said earlier, there can only be a certain number of fates in a zone at specific level brackets, so what you guys are actually doing is waiting for all those other fates to run their 15min duration until they fail and then RNGsus decides what fate to spawn next. If you actively kill the ones you don't want you can speed up getting the one you want to spawn (1-2 minutes to clear the fate is shorter than 15). Keep in mind RNGsus doesn't always play nice so in some cases it can still take a while.

They have some fates on short timers. These fates need to be treated the same.

You can pick up beast tribe quests and abandon them and get your allowances back. It what i do, go do the original 4, pick the quests up, if the fate hasnt popped before i finish the others i abandon them and make up using the Vanu Vanu.

And while you are out trying to actively clear fates to spawn the one you want will pop while you are halfway across the map and the few people who just waited will clear it before you get back. Fun times.

May be an example of not understanding the system? FATES in those older zones are patterned by level brackets. If you want a level 48-ish fate, you want to clear those nearby fates that are in that level range and not the level 27-ish ones on the other side of the zone.

Bolded the problem. The area needs to become more active to get them spawning faster. It was "working as intended".

How are FATEs not dynamically adjusted by people in the immediate area by now? This is something GW2 did at it's launch, like.... 3 years ago. Instead you end up with FATEs that are hit and miss depending how many people have pounded it into oblivion in the last hour or something. Enter a barren zone, start a FATE and discover the mobs are like gods because it's gauged for 50 people still. Wow.

It'd be nice if the spawn times are similar to the event FATEs like the current FFXI ones.

He's not wrong though. You're severely underestimating how quickly these FATEs can be cleared, especially if there's more than one person doing them. I can easily clear the FATE Quenching the Flame by myself as my Monk in less time than it takes to run from the entrance of Zanr'ak (where some of the 45-49 bracket FATEs spawn) all the way to the very back of Zahar'ak where the FATE in question is located. So it's in fact quite easy to miss out on the FATE you were waiting for while you were dicking around in an attempt to get it to spawn in the first place even if you're within the general area of the 45-49 FATEs.

Nothing option would somehow make the fate spawn able.

I'm willing to bet that these FATEs are on the same "non-special" timer they claimed the ones needed for the relic books were, you know, the ones they said they can do nothing about, and only advised to complete other FATEs in the zone. Yeah, no special at all, yet they somehow all have noticeably much greater re-spawn times than practically any other one (same non-relevant FATE spawning five times by the time you see the one you need for the book, anyone?)......... :rolleyes:

Guess that depends on the perspective I guess. If you are running that far out, then perhaps you need to change your strategy a bit. So, in that respect, one may be considered to be "doing it wrong", or at least not optimally.

There is often a bit of a delay between when the next fate in the rotation spawns. What I do is take one out, go back to the one I need, kill mobs around it while waiting for the next fate to respawn and if it isn't the one I want I go do another nearby one, rinse/repeat. Did it just last night in fact to spawn the Ochu NM in N. Shroud. Took me all of three cycles to get the one I needed to pop. Took me one fate to get Flame to pop--the archer that spawns out in front.

The trick is in gaining a better perspective of the caveats of the system and how to make it best work to your advantage. There is a system that has a pattern that you can put to work for you. Just sitting on your arse is about the worst thing you can do. At least move around and kill stuff in the area or something so the system is registering activity. You might be surprised how much it may improve your odds.
