I don't mind the grind...

for the Anima weapon. Gives me something to do and a goal to work towards.

Bur for the love of God and all that is holy stop gating the relic weapons behind crafters. This is the player's weapon. You can't sell it, can't trade it, can't give it away. The only thing we should need other people for is to help grind the dungeons, fates, trials and raids, to get the Poetics, Law or Tokens needed for the quest.

If you don't mind the grind why not grind out a few million gil to buy the crafted items?

It went pretty much like this.


Crafters: 3.0 screwed us over do somthing.

SE: Ok we now make it so u need HQ items that need all specialist crafts for the relic!

Crafter: Great i can make millions of gil now selling items at stupid prices thanks you SE

Players: Well this sucks i need tons of gil just to do my quest.

I dont mind it either.

Because that's not fun, and I shouldn't have to pay people for "MY" weapon. Runing dungeons and such makes it at least feel like we are all working together for a shared goal.

They should have made them untradable. Problem solved now you have to level your crafters LOL.

I like how blacksmith, who only got that one ingot recipe for specialist also can't even make a relic item by itself either.

A little fix for you. Now all the player base will feel what us crafters have been suffering for quite a while, maybe now its the time to bring back the stupid crafting restrictions and the reasons why crafting is not enjoyable anymore but for a selected few.

If SE wants me to be some crafter's slave, there are far more pleasurable ways to implement it than that. At least if you have such inclinations.

This is just eh.

Get one class to 60. Craft 4, sell 3, buy 3. Done. This way think of it as an exchange, not limitation.

I thought the relic was supposed to be a grind through action, not through saving up or playing the market. I mean some people can just go and flat out buy the HQ's they need while others like me are stuck paying 20+k a pop for raid food with no real income to speak of, slowly but surely running my (legit) money well dry - How am I supposed to get a hold of those items in any feasible amount of time?

I understand the notion that relic should be a grind but... The combination of content drought and a poorly received raid has your players craving for something to do, and relic could very well be it, but you absolutely bombed it. The wait was so not worth it, this doesn't seem very well thought out and it seems like so little effort went into making it.

Probably going to get banned for explicitly voicing my dissatisfaction, but so be it. This is absolute arse.

I'm sure this will be more common than people realize. Going by a recent "How much gil do you have thread" I figured I was doing alright but I don't think I'll be inclined to spring for these things given that they're currently going for 1m+. Don't you need like 16 total pieces or something? Even if they drop to say 1/4 of the current cost that will still be a substantial amount of gil for the average person.

RMT are going to be jumping for joy that's for sure.

Currently going for ~3 million gil per item on my server. There is just no way in hell.

Idon't mind the grind either but that's not the point. We have a real problem here because SE is giving us just a lot a work to do just to keep everyone busy (like the mommy who turns on the TV for the kids). Would be better if they do something creative and new for the game before the Meteor hit us again :S

I gotta say I really don't mind this grind. It's a goal to work towards.

But the crafting part, that's the meh part. I think they need to cut that out of future relic patches.

Well in my opinion, its paying off to level your crafting classes up and gearing them up. They are getting good money for all the hard work.

I think I discovered that I could, instead of grinding a single relic, play and beat a bunch of different games. I don't mind pouring time into something, sure. But my time is still valuable. I could be pouring it into better things.

I don't mind the grind, I just want an actual story with it. Well, I do mind the grind when its something stupid like 600+ Alex runs, that just reeks of lazy on the devs part. Make the grind fun, not burn out material!

I kind of feel this way about the game in general since the wait for 3.1. Crafting is tedious and unrewarding, there aren't many options for side content, and the current main content is either one-and-done like Void Ark and tomestone gathering or it's a horrendous grind like anima weapons, and either way it's all going to be pointless the next patch.

So I could log in and waste hours crafting a single item, or I could sit here grinding for an anima quest all day every day, OR I could use the same time to finish a single-player RPG in a week.

It's not that the game is bad, it's just that there are a hundred other games I could finish in the same amount of time.

It's already begun. The Gil Sellers are back in full force on Adamantoise, and their posts don't contain the crazy nonsense we're used to seeing (shattered English interlaced with random numbers and letters). They are written like real sales pitches. According to an FC friend of mine, one of the messages he saw was far more personal, something along the lines of "Visit this site if you want Gil ;) ".

Granted, FFXIV follows a very strict pattern with all of its content, so it shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that there's a huge Gil sink somewhere. The sellers obviously knew it, and they're taking full advantage of it. I can't really say anything about broken economies anymore since ours is pretty good, but my sincerest apologies to all you on smaller servers with bad economies.

You will need gilseller or you can give up...
Friends who have maxed their crafters are giving up because ohhh shit, its the wrong one for their Relict-Job and even then they need gatherer maxed too!
Just look what happened on patchday with AH pricing...

I don't mind it being crafted, but for fuck's sake get rid of specialist restrictions on the recipes.
