Coil Daily Roulette!

To be honest, playing post-HW content has me really missing the coil raids. I really enjoyed the coil fights (T1-12) and would love to run these again without having to form a premade. DF is also dead for these since not many people run them as there's no real benefit.

It'd be really neat if there was a coil daily roulette we could opt to do that gives us a current tome bonus (instead of poetics/soldiery). Something that's cross-server, like many of the roulettes are currently. Even if they're level sync'd I'd be okay with that haha :p

What do you think?

My only concern with this would be the amount of people who would just outright leave if they got t5, t9 or t13 in the roulette. Considering that the roulette forces you to play synced I doubt many people who have already cleared it would want to go back without the unsynced option even for bonus tomestones at this point.

I've wanted this for a long time. Give 100 esoteric (or w/e currency is at the time) as an incentive for raid groups to do old raids together.

FIFY. I don;t think anyone would do these raids unless it can be unsynched or the reward is THAT high

As nice as the roulette idea is. This post pretty much sums up my feelings >.<

As much as I'd like to run Coil again it's rather pointless bringing it to the NA/EU community :/

I can see the sea of salt already.

I think we're long overdue for a Duty Roulette: Raids (containing all 3 CTs and Void Ark) and a Duty Roulette: Expert Raids (containing all non-Savage Coils and Alexander).

Yeah as much as I loved Coils (SOOOO much better then Alex) and would love to be able to do them synched and get the fun of all the mechanics again. Just not everyone can do it, you would probably see too many people that cant actually run them queueing and it would just be a pain.

I see nothing wrong with adding a coil roulette, they need more incentives to run old content not less.

For new players they might luck out and catch a group queuing it for shiggles and if you don't want to run it you can just... not queue for it and problem solved.

While there is the possibility of people avoiding / leaving certain turns it isn't all that different from players bailing on things like AV or SoF anyway.

As mentioned before a raid roulette is long overdue and the content is just stagnating at this point.

This I could go with:
Roulette: Coil
Roulette: Primals Extreme
Roulette: Crystal Tower
Roulette: Alexander
Roulette: Void Ark - when more added

And a Roulette: Raids - that has any 8 man raid that is DF-able added.

Please, PLEASE make this happen SE. This would be a fantastic way to revive old content that a lot of new players don't get to experience.

Can we throw in Duty Roulette: Expert Trials while we're at it?

It would be fun if there was a single binding coil, etc. option if you wanted to go through the whole thing with somebody new without having to queue up again. That's not a big deal but would be more fun for running through the story.

Unless they get rid of all the remaining instant death mechanics, people will just leave after the first or second wipe. And as mentioned above, people will just drop instantly on some Turns.

This happens even in party finder groups...so while it would be annoying it wouldn't be any different.

why not have coils synced kills hand out tokens for ilvl 200 or even 205 gear?
Great way to gear alts and more fun than waiting for eso reset or endless diadem.

Reducing the difficulty of a lot of those Coil fight mechanics down to non-Savage Alexander difficulty would do more good than bad.

Those fights aren't anywhere close to as difficult as Alexander Savage, though... If you run them unsynced, the difficulty level is probably somewhere between Gordias and Midas Normal. You can flat-out ignore or cheese most of the mechanics.

they should add this how much esoteric should the roulette give 200?

You didn't say anything about the context of a roulette in your post. You just asked for yet another nerf to content that's already been nerfed several times from its original implementation. I don't think the raid roulette is a good idea, honestly.

There should be raid roulettes for the 24 mans... But coil? Mechanics are too intense for the average duty finder. I find people wiping on regular dungeon mechanics all the time. I couldn't imagine a bunch of randoms in some of the coil runs.

I'm all for insentive to do coil, I love coil... But I don't have faith in the average duty finder. Same reason I don't want ex primals on duty either.

I'd love a coil roulette I really would!

I've been doing coils with my FC friends and I really don't believe that roulettes with pugs would work. People won't have the patience and/or skill for the mechanics, too much communication and coordination is required. Introducing the roulettes would cause tears and then the devs would gradually nerf the difficulty to the all too familiar faceroll level. Some folks might be happy with that, but I wouldn't be. IMHO this game needs more content which requires some actual effort, not less.

It already is mostly faceroll just plain level sync with 30% echo so not much of a diff there.

With echo it is easy, yeah (we play without echo). But I'd hesitate to call it faceroll. Maybe you've played them so much that your viewpoint has shifted because you know the tricks & mechanics so well?

WRT echo: I want a way to permanently remove it! So annoying to always disable it after a wipe.

With the exception of a few fights I'd say the rest are faceroll easy with echo. Without echo and possibly at min ilvl though yeah that would be more fun.

Well, considering the thread title provides the context of a roulette, I'd say it shouldn't be needed to be mentioned in every post ^^; Especially posts quoting posts referring to DF groups dropping out due to wipes.

But I agree somewhat. A raid roulette wouldn't really be the best of ideas. Yes, mechanics are a lot easier with echo (plus automatic max ilvl for level 50, since you most likely get synched down), but unless you've done them...
Actually, if the requirement for said roulette would be to have completed the involved turns, it'd be a bit better. Of course, you'd still get those who've only been carried or completed them Unsynched, so... Meh, I guess I just don't really see why it'd be needed. It's already been made easier to get groups for it because people want the mats for the replicas -- for first and second coil, at least. Final coil might get added next ilvl upgrade patch. (Though a fair point is that said incentive didn't exist at the time of this thread's creation.)

What would be nice is a Primal Extreme roulette >.>
