At the beginning of 4.0. In the cash shop. For ten bucks.
I really hate NPC exclusives.
Can I just say...?
YES
YES
YES
Who is that NPC anyway? I'm assuming they're from a Job quest sunce I haven't finished those?
I just want a side ponytail that's really long.
Yes please! Upon seeing the otherwise empty page, this hairstyle immediately stood out in the void, and I immediately wanted it.
Ah gotcha. She has the face of someone I shouldn't trust tbh lol.
It's a possibility that it might come next patch. They tend to sue the new hair quite a lot starting with the patch it comes from.
In the preview they write that character as a man. So maybe for males.
15$ together with the clothes.
Guys that shirt is the ..High House....male only shirt. I can't remember what it's called (even though it's on my PLD but anyway)
So it's a male.
So it should be a male-only hairstyle ;)
I'm glad that they're starting to make more unique-looking npcs lately
Seeing that a NPC have this hairstyle, I will say "male NPC only"
I would really love it was unisex all races because miqo'tes have too many princess hairstyles or just too short in the front and or foreheads.
Do wish males did get more masculine hairstyles too.
Every single yes for this~
That's, uh, very androgynous. Both the face and the hairstyle. I wouldn't be opposed to seeing it added for both genders but I do hope we get more gender exclusive styles in the future because when they're designed to fit both genders they often end up just being...androgynous. Some people are into that but some of us would be happier with styles designed for men and women exclusively. I'm not saying that it's bad to be androgynous but it feels like that style is getting too much focus when it comes to a lot of gear/hairstyles.
SE Generally puts newer hairstyles on NPCs that come out in that same patch for players. A lot of the female were done that way. Can't say for sure about the male ones, but I assume that it was the same.
And so rises the age of traps upon the release of this hair style. Maybe its just the facial features though but I admit, I do like the hair as well.
That character looks like "he" has a female's face. The eyes look like that, too. Could it be a typo?
Just because the person is wearing a male-only justaucorps doesn't mean a female npc can't wear it.
Other than Alphinaud, all young boys in game looked like boys an not very androgynous
wanted this the moment I saw it... yes please.. :( and uh.. I really dont think this is a girl.. I thought it was a teenage male.
He looks like he has the Female Au ra facetype #1, without horns and scales.
The Japanese lodestone post explicitly calls him a 'boy', so I'm pretty sure it's not a typo. He looks like a guy to me, just a very pretty one.
Kind of reminds me of Larsa from FFXII
I really don't like this hairstyle, or its just the character that wears it makes it look lame. I need to see all the angles.
I usually make my male characters as graceful/young/girly looking as possible, but something seems really off about this character to me lol...
Why this man just like au ra female?!
Inb4 he becomes the new center of "Haurchefant/Aymeric hype" people are fanboying over. ( Which for the life of me can't understand )
Thanks for all the replies..I hope they'll consider giving us this hair ^^
I'd just add that it's also cause the majority of people find themselves attracted to the average standard of beauty - the commonly accepted one, or the "right one" if you wanna offend some people. Aymeric does look good for a girl. That's what I could agree on. Unlike most Elezen (generic NPC ones or player characters) his face is unique which makes him stand out as a more memorable character, especially since he's featured and fully voiced in many cutscenes.
At the risk of opening a can of worms I would say that the dominant attitude amongst gamers tends to be more what we're seeing hints of here. Men who do not conform to gamers' ideas of masculinity are dismissed as being girly, effeminate or 'androgynous' (none of these things are bad at all, of course, but the words are often used pejoratively) while the rugged hero types are gladly accepted. There are, of course, a huge amount of people who actively like these so-called 'girly' characters, but I don't think I've ever seen a discussion involving beautiful males in games that doesn't end up attracting people who question their credentials as men at some point.
I think the most ridiculous post of this type I have seen to date was someone complaining that Fran (FFXII) was 'a guy' because she didn't conform to the poster's arbitrary definition of femininity, despite Fran being, well, Fran.
Going back to the topic at hand, Aymeric really isn't my type at all but his voice (in Japanese, at least) is out of this world. I could listen to him talking about boring political problems all day long. In Haurchefant's case I like the archetype of the debauched and slightly eccentric lord; it helped that he was so thoroughly earnest and sweet beneath the creepiness. Genuine enthusiasm is so rare, both in-game and in reality, that it's really attractive.
In any case, I think that our NPC Elezen are popular because some people out there have fantastic taste ;)
Yes please. This hairstyle looks very good and should be implemented for both sex. It's perfect for an androgynous look.
