New Void Ark loot system is flawed.

The problem of bards quiting after 2nd boss in WoD after (not)obtaining aiming body was solved(?) by spamming us with healer hats the whole run. Isn't there any better loot distribution model to eliminate such RNG extremes?

Reminds me of when I had a run with 3-4 belts dropped... no one rolled on those.

I prefer to look at this way... Now classes that have to compete against each other, healers and casters, can now glamour at a faster rate.

RNG sucks sometimes. Like using Steady Hand II and failing all 5 Hasty Touch. Screw you RNG.

Void Ark is telling you that you would all look better in that hat.

I like this system they put in place to prevent people from ditching midway through a run, but I wish certain bosses had higher priority over certain types of gear.

I wish I got spammed with healer hats :(

If you look at the Lodestone Listing for the Void Ark, it can be observed that every single piece appears in two chests during the run. Additionally, we get two drops per chest instead of the one per chest the CT trilogy gave us.

RNG or not, Void Ark's loot distribution system is still indisputably better than CT.

it may suck but it is better then the old model where queues were much longer due to tanks and healers trying to only get parties in progress on the last boss to get the chest pieces. or to have people leave like a mass exodus if there piece didn't drop from a citren boss this kinda helps

Not when you can't roll on it till next week. Got three i210 pieces with superior stats in the last Diadem run so that lockout is kinda pointless now.

How is this "new" system flawed looks like the same system they have always had.

Why not switch to healer?

The loot from chests are now random. Theoretically you could get a scouting belt x2 from every boss now, at least that's how it seems to work.

they are not random, the belt comes from 2 of the 4 bosses. every item can drop from 2 of the bosses. the only problem is when the same item drops more than once in the same run, it's possible that one item can drop 4x in one run.

I think the idea behind the system is fine but there might be some issues with the algorithm for choosing items from the pool.

double drops seems way too common to be normal

I thought I was the only one.. but Ive done the new dungeons a few times, and VA twice now.. and I kid you not but the exact SAME items dropped for each run.. and that was all NIN/BRD stuff too... and not a single NIN/BRD was in the group for the dungeons. -_-.

I Lol'd when 2 tank chest pieces dropped. Otherwise, I like how the new system is

The run I had where 3 MNK pants dropped, with no MNKs in the party...

Still, far better than the previous system. Would be nice if a piece had less chance of coming up if it had already dropped though.

Ah my bad, had a Dragoon chest piece drop from different bosses so I assumed. Still, this is a poor solution. The better one would have been for either all the chests to appear at the end of the raid, or for them to implement a token based loot system similar to that of Alexander (or Bismarck/Ravana/ThordanEX but they're never that good to us).

Is it difficult to implement a system that checks the composition of the of the party and then have loot for them drop instead of dropping pieces for classes that arent in the party 90% of the time? Or is this another "subtle" attempt at SE trying to artificially keep people subbed for longer by making the items people are after harder to get?

But glamor is the real endgame.

It's better, but they should get rid of belts. Nobody really wants the belts.

But honestly I'd prefer something closer to what Alex normal has with the tokens. The reason is that I want to get tank gear, but I can't play as a tank because the queue times are insane. So I'm left going as DPS and hoping a tank piece (not the belt, because that's useless) drops that the actual tank doesn't want or need.

I didn't think this was possible but 1st boss dropped the 2 healing hats like OP BUT THEN 2nd boss dropped the hat as well seriously wtf.

Speak for yourself. For my alt I'm trying to get any gear I can get for its main job whm so if I was in a VW where a healer belt dropped I'd need on it.

I think it solves the 'only running this for exactly one boss fight' problem, although getting duplicate items from a single chest is a bit annoying. (But it's better than only getting one item to begin with!)

Queue in progress as dps, kill last boss for token. Never return because the gear is outdated upon release. This is SE's standard. Unfortunately.

Meanwhile only BLM/SMN gear seems to drop. I've run it a good bit, but I've seen the belt for caster dps drop 4 times and I haven't once seen ANY healer pieces drop.

I'm just going to say that the RNG isn't actually random. It just loves screwing with players. I'm a MCH with fully 200-210 left side armor, and am planning on using Void Ark to gear my SCH. So what are the only gear drops in my run earlier? MCH/BRD gear and MNK gear, which is my lowest level combat class period, (and third lowest level class over all), sitting at a resounding 15. I KNOW it did this to screw with me. It's the only explanation.....

this this this, i ran 4 frikin times already haven't seen a healer top or bottom or gloves or even shoes (which i have from last week)

and here I am equipping my shiny new DRG body to my retainer, from the first VA after reset :3

If there weren't any belts, there's a better chance you'd see one of the "good" healer items like boots, pants, chest, etc for you to need on. All the other pieces have more stat points and can actually be seen so they're good for glamour.

Right now the belts are just cluttering up the loot table.
