Diadem broke the game

Endless Ques in Roulletes, party finder full with Diadem groups, you get Esoteric marks and you can actually get 210 Gear out of it even when the stats are random.

Basicly all you can do all day is Diadem, cause its the best option.
The only thing you cant get from there is a weapon... but relic weapons are on the way so who cares..
Farming Materia never was so easy.

Diadem offers way to much for almost no effort at all and makes Roulletes and for some people even raiding obsolete.
Its great that people have something to do now.. but everything in one mode?

Reminds me of hunts of when all people did was hunts of previous cycles. Game broken? Nah, it's just another odd patch number.

why blame the diadem? its just the raid and dungeon should providing more reward than nerfing the diadem. really other than direct gear, normal/roullete dungeon doesnt drop anything right now, no rare material, nothing.

dungeon should give something to grind, not only minion, but give them glamour material/gear material too, or give them super rare equip that 10/15 ilvl ahead the usual gear drop. lack of grindable thing is a problem in this game, diadem is alive because a lot of people doing that over and over again because they want i210 or want pegasus. is there any reason for a player doing dungeon over and over again? no, a chance for a minion drop is not worth the time.

I think it's a good content. the problem is the other content are not as good as it. so they don't have to do anything to the Diadem. just do something with other content. the new Expert dungeons for the example; they drop i185. who's gonna do it all day all night unless for glamour? and Void Ark has the same old weekly lock bs.

One problem I have with diadem is that you can't kick leechers. I have lost so much 210 loot to leechers now, it's not funny. I *would* leave, but it's not fair for the legit players to lose a healer and make it harder to get loot just because someone else is leeching.

I'd agree, but I have yet to even get any 210 gear that didn't have god awful secondary stats.

Yeah, Diadem is a little TOO good. Since it pretty much kills off the relevance of roulettes and raiding, that's all i'm reduced to in this game in terms of efficiency. In fact, i'm actually running out of things to do AGAIN. Simply going "just don't play it!" is just straight up ignoring the issue.

Even for Glamour i dont wait 1 Hour + as a DD to get in there..

1 hour queue time sound like a DF bug to me. My queue time as MNK is around 5-15 minutes

diadem looks like hunts with gathering. It's awful and bad design.

You can sit down and afk then roll all the loot doing nothing. They should add some interactions with decors and better mechanics.

Dont forget the mount from diadem. And with tank queues being long for void ark and the entire queue being messed up for ex roulette. Diadem is the best option.

PF is full of Diadem on your world? Things are balanced on mine, people are doing plenty of the classic style content still.

I saw this coming, reading how Diadem offers the best rewards, I was trying to hype people for it before the patch released so we'd have lots of groups to join on my world and I could ride that farm train to i210 random stat gear and hordes of material.

I am surprised that they even let you choose exactly which material you want to buy -- that changes things massively. They only withheld the grade V material for craft and gather; if they didn't I'd be forced to gather there for hours to super-meld my crafting classes, so it's probably best they left those out.

The problem is again the same: diadem rewards the brainless game, because stick with a zerg and just kill everything is playing in zombie mode.
This is disturbing? Not really to me, I don't like to farm mobs so I won't enter in Diadem unless some friend of mine ask me to join them.
So, since I prefer to do raids or doing things that ask me to think about what I'm doing, I'll just continue doing raids and who cares about people with full pink 210.


The only thing that disturbs me is that Diadem had the potential to be a better feature.

Diadem is great under perfect conditions. Anything else, including duty finder, and it's basically the worst current content in the game by far in terms of design flaws ruining it.

^ This. Diadem is the first place that rewards you for playing it over and over. You might get a 210 piece you can use for any job you have (or your main if you play need-only), but you'll definitely at least get some trade-ins. Compare that to pretty much anywhere else - Void Ark offers the weekly token and EX daily allows the weekly eso cap. Do those and you are done for the day/week. Aside from those, everything else (except A4S and Thordan EX for weapons) is glamour. The game actually needed something like this imho and needs more (though we need more raids too - end game is anemic). That's not to say, though, that it doesn't have its own problems (it's tedious with no mechanics or worthwhile objectives, you're punished if some of your party leave to gather due to the claiming system, can't cooperate with Alliances).

You cant blame the players, Void Ark is a weekly and Alexander Savage is something most players can not do. So this leaves the Diadem for players to join and do.

I am the party influenced most I guess (savage raider, so I should be pissed that this faceroll content gives so much for no effort) but for me Diadem is one of the best additions so far. I didn't try it trough DF and I definitely won't, but hard with FC or even party finder is quite fun. It reminds me of old grind parties like in Lineage II etc. and it really hits the spot for me. I honestly wouldn't nerf Diadem, I would make other content more appealing.

At this moment I really don't care that people are getting same gear from faceroll dungeons, hunts, Diadem etc. as long as there are ways to find out if people cleared A3s for example so I don't end up in static with someone who has no experience but only gear.

I really should try rolling my face on a keyboard if things are as easy as people say.

Personally, I find the Diadem to be my least favorite part of this patch. I enjoy the killing of hunt targets, and the clusterf*** of everyone swarming Dino Island, but unless you get 210 drops, get them in the roll, and they happen to be something you can use, the rest of the drops are pretty pointless except for possibly gearing up your other classes. This is particularly evident with the Star ranks which only seems to give chests to whichever party that spawned them based on my experience, which means that when one pops up it's a matter of "am I fighting this to get rewarded, or am I wasting my time?". Aside from the pegasus mount, items for crafters, and materia, there's nothing really available in the spoil shop. I might be more interested if there was a unique gear set for each class that was i205 or better, or had a good look to it, but right now there's nothing to warrant dealing with the frustration of the Diadem from a combat perspective.....

As for from a gathering perspective, as a fisher, there's practically no point at all in the Diadem. I've only found two fish that I can catch there that I can't catch elsewhere, and one of those is completely worthless on the MB. More-so, there's even less incentive to try and farm for the Steel spoils, because the only thing I can get that benefits my fisher directly is small amounts of bait that I can farm Blue Scripts for far easier.....

My point is that from my perspective, the Diadem hasn't broke the game, but is completely broken in and of itself. As for the OPs argument, I somehow doubt the Diadem is the reason for que issues. The half hour wait time between runs is enough for people to be doing dungeon runs, and the Que for Diadem itself is seemingly infinite for Easy and can get up there for Normal depending on the time of day. I've also had no que issues with the level 50 roulette or Void Ark, it's just been the Expert roulette for me, which is clearly broken at this point. I haven't had a chance to try queing for some of the other roulette like the Leveling or Level 60 roulette, so no word on whether they're alive or not.......

You don't have to be the party that spawned them, and sometimes they pop on their own anyway. What ends up happening is the first party to land a hit on them "claims" them. In order to then also gain the gold chest (since more than one party can) other parties have to meet a DPS requirement, which can be pretty steep for stars. This is probably the biggest problem with Diadem since it basically penalizes teams that either try to pick up ads or have a gatherer among them off doing something somewhere else.

I'm disappointed they didn't put a claim system in the area. Without it it's just a big zerg fest. Everybody is encouraged to clump in one small area of a massive zone.

If I understand the instance system here, it's a problem. If server capacity is keeping people out of dungeons because it's all being allocated to Diadem then the gating that gets people to Diadem is being locked out by Diadem.

Just now I queued for expert roulette as monk and 12 minutes later I was in (Chaos servergroup)

Diadem didn't break the game as much as Hunts did and continue to. Seriously, I don't know why Square keeps CONSISTENTLY reviving hunts as a way to get easy upgrades and catch up. Every single odd numbered patch sees the Hunts return and it's always the EXACT same system. It's really frustrating that this game kills any sense of accomplishment by making content that is SO casual friendly that requires literally no skill and gets you caught up to the best gear in the game.

I only run it with my FC..and even then it's not often. I still prefer running dungeons.

They made it very easy and mindless to get great gear from there. I can't help but think there is some reason they want the player base to have better gear quickly. Unless it's just set up that way so that the numbers for the new content look great on paper.

Diadem kind of reminds me of Abyssea in FFXI-- like Abyssea, it is a total cluster, is kind of fun at the beginning because it is such a cluster, and ultimately results in nobody doing anything else anymore because they can be tremendously lazy and still accomplish their goals by "participating" in the cluster. I wound up quitting FFXI a little while after Abyssea came out because it kind of killed the rest of the game-- hoping that isn't gonna happen here, but I did sit for 90 minutes in an expert roulette queue as healer last night before giving up and going to bed, so that really doesn't bode well.

The only thing I want to have changed about the Diadem is they need to make the other islands relevant. Spawning only on Dino island is going to ruin the appeal of Diadem before the next patch. Something where after the star spawns that island can no longer spawn anymore Stars and rank 5's would force everyone to look around for other area's to start the hunt again. Make use of a compass or something so you actually got to find the island with the best Aether or something.

For a first attempt, I love Diadem. I really hope SE keeps updating it and every odd patch adds a new something to it. An 8man only would be fantastic to remove the zerg fest. It doesn't have to be better to add more rewards, it would just be nice to not HAVE to be in the zerg for the run to be meaningful. Sometimes I really enjoy the endless slaughter, sometimes I want to take on challenges for the hell of it, sometimes I want to protect my gatherers so they can get rare nodes. Give options SE!

Did the Diadem once with FC-group of 5 members, didn't like it and most likely won't be going back there.

I'll just keep going with my trials, dungeons and raids. :p

More star rank spawns around the entire instance rather than just due to density of monster kills. There could be multiple spawn conditions for many of them between gathering, battle, exploration.

But why make a interesting system when you can just slap it together and let people drain the fun out of everything?

To give the dev team the benifit of the doubt let's say there actually are alot of different systems that actually determine how/when star ranks spawn and we just haven't figure them out. The lack of a claim system encourages players to stay in one spot and not explore. A Claim system would generally cause players to stay spread out to have no competition on their fights making a unique and dyanmic battle environment.

I'm sorry but anything is better than the entire instance stacking in one spot.

Maybe they want everybody to be Monk now, since the new Expert dungeons seem to only drop Monk gear as well >.<

Gather a full group and go normal loot. Problem solved.

Basically people trying to tag steal just as a group is pulling. Ive seen it happen in other games. Sometimes its in the hope the group will kill the mob for them and other times is just to screw with people.
