Old sountrack minions impossible to obtain now? Please add them to the Cash shop!

..or at least put them back in the soundtracks to sell online.

Dear Square,

With the addition of LoV it's really a pity to see certain minions become totally unavailable to people who are willing to pay for them. Since these minions are usable in this event you shouldn't cut people off from obtaining them at least in some way.

Can you at least add them back to the soundtracks, or, as standalone purchases from the Mog Station? I'm sure a lot of folks would want to buy them!

PS..I DID buy the soundtrack on the Apple Store as soon as it released there. I didn't see the need for a physical copy/minion since there wasn't any special use for minions and you can't see them in dungeons, etc so it's not like I'm saying to not support the best MMO music since FFXI.

Oh you mean the Dalamud and Bahamut minion? Sure, I don't see a reason not to. I still like the fact that Bahamut and Louisoix fight each other when they are near each other.

Or how about we make them obtainable in-game, say for MGP? There's enough overpriced fluff in the cash shop already, we should probably stop encouraging them.

Not everyone started the game at the same time. Not to mention these older items are being relegated to the lame cash shop which SE can make a quick buck off of. Its nice that SE is allowing newer players access to older content.. even if it is being put in the cash shop.. and this is probably the only thing I agree with in regards to the lame cashgrab shop anyways.

SE should not apart them from the OST
They just have to put the codes back into the OST blue-rays.

People don't care about being distinct or individualistic in this game. I am sure if some people had their way on this forum we would have an NPC that sold every minion ever made for a few hundred gil.

If they weren't around when it was a thing, they don't deserve it. Harsh but it's true.

Adding the code to the OST again seems like the middle road here. We'd still be paying the same as those before.
I do have to mention that putting it on a blu ray release is annoying cause SE assumes everybody has a blu-ray player at home.... that and the OST is overpriced. Said the person who bought the artbook because it looked pretty

If you get upset just because someone else can get something they want, then you're just being selfish.

I'd be perfectly content with every MMO I've ever played gave everyone the opportunity to collect "exclusive" stuff. My experience with a game is better with that stuff, and I don't think it's right to crusade against other people from having fun.

As someone with the primogs and no interest in getting the previous two, I can't think of a reason why the codes should only be limited to early editions of the sound track. If anything, it makes buying the soundtrack (if your goal is to get the minions) unwise, because you can't be sure the expensive disk you've ordered has the code or not. If they are still selling the soundtrack, then usable codes should be included within.

Imagine if the mog and carbuncle plushes came back in stock, but no longer included the in-game item code. That would be super lame. There is no reason for a digital item to be in shorter supply than a physical item.

Not to be mean, but I have a few issues in this thread.


One, you can't sell your account. So increasing the quantity of a limited item does not devalue something you can't sell.

Two, seeing more of a vanity item does not lower what your item does. More primogs doesn't mean that some won't dance.

Three, this costs the company (probably) no extra money to implement. So you can't say you only got two dungeons because they were adding vanity.

Four, the cash shop is here to stay (not happy about it). SE has demonstrated solidly with 3.1 they are developing for the cash shop and they have embraced it. They have also shown that if they think they can squeeze the player base with the cash shop they will (retainers).

Five, reasonable or unreasonable price. They have shown that they are willing to gouge at the cash shop level. So if that means that you paid 20 dollars for a plushie form the cash shop and someone just wants to pay 20 for the digital minnion you would not have been taken advantage of for buying early. This point could be a contentious one later. As I believe the moogle earrings came with an item that costs over 200, so pricing would be rough.

Six, you didn't earn it. You spent cash. I am ok with the escalator system we have in game. But I can understand people get cranky when they don't think others earned it the same way they did. If you both spent cash you earned it equally.

Can we get pre-order minions too, in that case?

I guess the way to deal with it would be to make em available again, but at like 1000x the cost. So let's say the CD with the minions cost £50 during the promotional period, to now get the minion would cost £50'000. Would that allow the minions to be bought without trivialising the promotional period?

They're not even that great in LoV... :P

personally i say no, somethings should be exclusives, and should stay as an exclusive, that way it adds value to it and people can feel a bit of pride on having it, look at games like GW 2 and WOW with there exclusive minions half of the minions in wow you can't get anymore

They were limited time promotional codes for a reason. The in-game minions outclass the promotional and cash shop minions. I have come to terms a long time ago that I will never obtain the Cait Sith minion, Goobbue mount (Legacy) and Legacy Chocobo mount, so I just work for the ones I can obtain. Will it take forever? Yes. (damn Fledgling Apkallu) Will I have to dish out gil for some of them? Probably. Delivery Moogle, please stop being sold out like crack so I can buy you D:

You're arguing semantics while I'm only speaking generally.

Yes, I agree that getting things for cheaper than people who are supporting the company is scummy, but that's not my argument here. I'm only advocating that items should be available to everyone by some means.

The whole point is when something is sold under the pretense of "get it now, it is limited edition and will be rare and exclusive!" there are a lot of people that buy it for the rare and exclusive.
'Fair' for the person that didn't get an exclusive item is getting screwed over for the collectors that bought it originally

It also adds to the game, seeing rare impossible to get things from time to time on other players

It does add to the game? Weird, I see them and go look up where to buy them... then roll my eyes as they aren't available because there was an arbitrary limit on a digital item code.

To make it clear, I'm speaking about the Bahamut and Dalamud here (and any other minion attached to the SE store should they "run out"), not Cait Sith, that minion should stay locked to pre-order exclusiveness. But the OST minion... absolutely not. Attach the codes again, same price, same item, done.

Exactly this. It's not as if SE is being asked to gift the minions for free. Sell these ones for $10 or even $20 ea...or at least include them with the soundtrack that is still for sale. The fact that it doesn't even come with the product any more is silly.
