So the patch notes showed an example of one and that was GSM housing item the Faerie Chandelier. So that has me thinking, if maybe all the specialist recipes will be either furnishings or glamour type items. Which imo wouldn't bother me personally so much since you could easily find a friend to make it who had specialist in that area or could just use red scrips to change to that specialist job to make the items if you wanted them and not have to buy them, then switch back again. Also it's not like it's detrimental to the other crafting classes if they are set up like that whereas it would be if a certain material from a specialist crafting is needed to craft a specialist item on another crafting job. Anyone else's thoughts on what they think the recipes are going to be like? Or what they feel they should be like?

My only concern is classes like ARM and CUL don't have any of these vanity items in their recipe lists. So either it's opposite what you say and Specialist recipes won't be limited to vanity gear OR not all classes are getting Specialist recipes yet, making Specialist still useless for them.
It's gonna be interesting if ALL the new recipes are specialist only. I almost kinda wanna see that happen to see how it shakes things up. Almost. -

If Specialist Recipes are only glamor items and furniture, then all those Specialist Actions they introduced in 3.0 are useless. Thus, even if Specialist Recipes only include glam and furn, it will only be temporary. There will be Specialist Recipes that require pushing of quality in either 3.1 or 3.2 the latest. I personally would guess that the sky pirates stuff would already be specialists items. But we will see in a few hours.
You are very right about how easy it is to find a friend with the needed specialization. But I dont think anyone would spend 480 red scrips to change specialization just to make a few items, and then spend another 480 red scripts to switch back. You are talking about 2.5 weeks of red scrips here. It's totally not worth it. If someone decided to make a switch, it will likely be for the long run. -

Well I dunno, I like specialization. I think it's cool that certain jobs have special things only they can do. Also you're not permanently locked into a specialization. You can switch what, like once every week or two. So don't sweat it. It just allows people to have an actual use and allows crafters to make a living beyond the pyramid scheme that already exists.

LTW, on the other hand, not only make Pterodactyl Leather (used by WVR and GSM for Sky Pirate gear) but also makes its own Sky Pirate gear as well -- without needing any top-end mats from other crafters, just titanium, crawler silk, and the like. So looks like LTW is winning for i185 raid gear in patch 3.1.
The winner for glamours and furnishings, on the other hand ... those coffins ... that Falconer's shirt ... I just cannot tell.

BSM is my only specialization class. I will feel comfortable with synthing up a few stacks of ingots then switching to ARM specialist. BSM should've been given actual end piece recipes to give it some staying power.

The problem is specialization sounds good on paper to the economy. The reality is they don't have anyone who understands their economy at all, so they shouldn't be blindly putting in features magically hoping it will be better. In theory specialization is good, in practice I have yet to see an MMO where specialization actually resulted in notably better health.
My fear is that with the relatively small economies, specialization is going to result in micro monopolies worse than we have now. -

I found some rotations like the Maker's Mark one, but I don't know how many touch procs I need to get to not go "screw that, Reclaim" or minimum quality needed to start when you have just the basic 718/695. Would be nice to make my own Astral Birch accessories and not pay 6 million per for them. -

After seeing how it is, I'm fine with how things are at the moment.
CRP - Cassie Block (which is used for Mog House glamour), Unending Journal & Coffin for Furnishings.
BSM - Titanium Alloy Ingot which needs ore from Diadem gathered by high lvl miner. Which ingot is used for ARM and GSM specialist Recipe's.
ARM - Gear that needs BSM specialist ingot
GSM - Gear that needs BSM specialist ingot & LTW specialist leather, Housing light fixture
LTW - Leather which needs legendary type fish from Diadem gathered by high lvl fisher. Leather used in both GSM and LTW gear.
WVR - Cloth which needs cotton from Diadem gathered by high lvl botanist. Which is used in gear synths, also gets to make 2 minions.
ALC - Only 1 synth but it's needed for Mog House glamour
CUL - New food synth which needs items from gathering jobs in Diadem.
I don't mind it really. Sucks I can't do it all myself but decided to go BSM, GSM, LTW for my specialists. I have an FC member who will do CRP, WVR, ALC, and have some other friends who specialize in other ones I can't do. So it's a nice trade off. The only downside is the fish for LTW, will have to dedicate a whole run to getting those. -

CRP - 3 recipe's
BSM - 1 recipe
ALC - 1 recipe
CUL - 1 recipe
ARM - 6 recipe's (Ilvl 185 armour)
LTW - 23 recipe's (glamour and ilvl 185 armour)
WVR - 17 recipe's (glamour, minions and ilvl 185 armour)
So why do ARM, LTW, WVR get favored ? CUL only got 1 recipe in 2 patches!
Some people may be lucky that they draw the right straw and can now craft the new recipe's.
For other people there is nothing.
How is this even fair and what where they thinking while making this ?
They could at least said that people can switch specialization the first week and then offer the INSANE amount of red scripts to change your spec if you are not happy with it (cant understand why anyone ever would want to leave the golden 3).
Or they could offer a free spec change every week if they are so desperate with the system. I was expecting more of the system, but all i found was useless skills and locked out content.

The one I saw on reddit is:
CZ -> IQ -> SH2 -> Manip -> Basic/Precise x4 -> Manip -> SH2 -> Basic/Precise x3 -> GS -> BB -> Ing II -> CS2 x2, needing 444 CP with food, and 676 crafts to do CS2 x2 and finish.
I have 761/696 with 396 CP on all my crafts that have the i180 main hand (CUL and CRP so far), 720/674 otherwise, without food. -

But sometimes I do use pure NQ mats. Notice that the same rotation in different people can be quite different. The improvising work on the spot by the crafter will change EVERYTHING. I can sometimes change the rotation dramatically on the spot to utilize the Good or excellent conditions... especially if 2 Goods pop during the string of FS... I could grab both Tricks, and utilize that extra CP later for many different things.
I never use pure NQ mats for my final product, and thus, so far I haven't NQ any final gear yet (touch wood!). There was this one time which I got a horrible string of failed HTs without any extra CP from Trick of Trades to save it, and I was only able to reach IQ8. But since I used the maximum amount of HQ mats, so I still managed to luckily HQ it. Whew! -

Using the sim, I tried a rotation counting no trick procs. I have to end it after 9 hasty if I want to have Ingenuity II and enough durability to Careful Synthesis II x3.
CZ * -> IQ * -> SH2 -> Hasty x2 -> Manip -> Hasty x2 * -> SH2 -> Hasty -> Manip -> CZ -> Hasty x2 * -> SH2 -> Manip -> Hasty x2 *-> SH1 -> GS -> INN -> ING2-> BB -> CS 2 x3
With 761/727/457 this will get above 100% HQ by 900 quality, provided all 9 hasty procs. This is without any Trick, without any Precise. But it does need all 9 to proc. If only 8 proc, you're short 350 quality. If 7 proc, you're short 1699 quality. 7/9 is what chance would say Hasty would proc. Not sure what rate Trick is.
Edit: Forgot about SH1 at the end
7 procs if you have 800 control would still be short 950 quality. But that's easier to get than 1700.
Note that since the sim doesn't have the 60 1 star mats, I used a 60 1 star 70 dur item and just never let myself go below 35.
I'm good with numbers but I rather plan the rotation beforehand than improvise on the fly, considering I need to have 128 CP for the ending sequence, but also 35 durability and not anything less. Using a single hasty more means I need to use Manipulation and I don't have an extra 88 CP.
You need 1 Trick proc to achieve the rotation given the last SH needed or 457 CP. Only 4 chances to proc Trick before you're in the end sequence. Ouch without the CP. Better just have 457 base and tricks would be a bonus to turn a Hasty to a Precise.
