Mount ideas

Hello, Was just flying around Hinterlands, then a thought crossed my mind.
Wouldn't it be cool to have your very own set of wings to fly around with, lets say like a mount. When you "mount" you grow wings like, Dragon wings, Butterfly wings, or what ever you could think of.

On that note, what are some ideas for mounts that you could come up with?

I know its been requested before and I honestly think the closest we will get myself is one of the goblins tinkering with those wing sets some mobs use and altering it for personal use....or I guess someone coming up with a "transformation" potion that acts as a mount.

I say that would be pretty cool. I see myself going whoosh and fwoosh quite a bit.

As for what really came to my mind when I first saw the thread 'mount ideas' I shall keep that to myself.

We are not magical fairies :/
I personally don't think it would fit FFXIV's theme like it does with certain other MMOs.

Mechanical wings/hanggliders and the like are something entirely different though, I can get behind that. Created by our lovely MCH friends or something..:)
It fits the lore of inventors just fine.

Still waiting for my personal Highlander/Roegadyn mount. My lalafell needs it.

Yeah some clockwork wings that would be stored in your bag and would come out when you double-tap space. That's what I would like.
Only problem with them is, that all other mounts can use old character animations while wings would require them to make new animations for flying character (superman pose aww yiss!). :D

Wouldn't really be any different, some mounts have different character poses and we move along with them so it would be the same process.

the fun thing is if it was summoner exclusive it could be bahamut's wings, since the story is apparently in order to summon anything from bahamut they channel it though there body's like a conduit, so that could work :D plus theres a mog magic spell to grow sparkly wings from the wedding ceremony :3 so they could just teach us :D

A deer/elk mount

And, obviously,

EAGLES! ( a) bc amurrica and b) LotR anyone?)

the "Griffions" in this game are more eagle then the mythical Gryphon, (or griffon) which are more lion in nature.

i would personally love a deer/elk mount :O OR A SPIDER MOUNT.

An actual panther or a tiger. Not a coeurl model, an actual big cat model.

Also flying carpets.

i just want a mount/minion of the Phoenix from coil.

Morbol Mount with bad breath animation.

I already got my wish list of mounts I always wanted: Broom and soon to be Pegasus.

Though I really wouldn't mind being able to fly like superman/ dbz-style. A magitek jet pack shouldn't be too outside the possibility in terms of Lore (see magitek mount)

They had this beautiful model early in the MCH story and later in the DRK stories (I have only gotten my DRK up to 50, and I don't think I've come across them yet). I fell in love the moment I saw them, they were really beautiful but the MCH story only had, I think, 3 of them? So they seem to be "rare". Nevertheless, I really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really want one as a mount.

Forgive me for the necro, but what about a large Gaelicat parade float as a flying mount? Or perhaps a group of Gaelikittens pulling a platform you sit on to fly around? :3

I'd rather get some sort of high allagan flying bike or a steam powered goblin jetpack.

I hoped
- Beelte as horned head (flying)
- Moths
- Owls (where they had Owlet minion)
- Nidhogg/Hraesvelgr style mount
