As a male Miqo'te, I'd never use another idle pose again.

When they showed off the picture of the new GS Bunny costume, the model they used was in that pose as well. It's been suggested this pose is coming, more likely as a constant emote like with the Hildebrand pose.

The emote is actually from a harlot NPC in Limsa Lominsa. You can find it being used by a miqo'te while soliciting some sailors with another harlot. Shady Smock is only special in that she's considerably less dressed in comparison.

I've seen a gif of a male Miqo'te standing behind that NPC and it looked quite risqué, if that's anything to go by there's no way SE is going to implement this emote. For one, they don't even let us lie down or sleep anywhere, and they changed a preexisting emote to avoid people doing that kind of stuff.

With this thread title I expected another discussion about children. To be fair it would be loads of fun to massacre demigods while being shorter than an average lalafell.

You still have to remember the conformity of Japan. While they accept homosexuality and crossdressing, they still are not so open with it most of the time, and in most media for them, it is used as humour. Adding the same-sex marriage was a huge thing for them to do, something they weren't even willing to do in FFXI. They also added openly homosexual characters, another big step up. However, allowing male characters to equip female-only things in MMOs is something that they aren't willing to breach just yet, for PCs at least. This pose would be another thing they most likely would not accept, at least for a few more years, when it becomes even more acceptable to be open with it.

I'd rather see them spend time and effort developing gender locked stuff for men instead of making gear and emotes intended for female characters available to men. Because then we don't get much - if any - new exclusive gear sets/emotes for male characters.

We've been over this in detail in the dedicated threads about wanting male characters to have the same treatment as female ones. We're actually losing out on a lot more than just the handful of locked dresses; the 'female only' label is liberally used on items such as shoes and hats which are gender-locked for no reason with no male equivalent. Even setting aside the sexiness of this particular pose, there's a real risk that it would be yet another case where the female characters get something new and the males get... nothing.

(Also, the Japanese side of the forums has a similar bunch of people complaining that guys are being treated unfairly, with far less infighting, so it's not entirely a cultural issue.)

Honestly, I don't see the issue. It's an NPC only pose used by two, maybe three different NPCs. It's not the first time we've had NPC only things and it's not going to be the last. Let the NPCs have some nice things, too! I mean, really, they die for real when they die while we get to ride the aether back to an aetheryte and resurrect like we're the messiah or something (thank you Echo!).
