BTW, has anyone looked into this skill since the update? It's been changed to do damage 'based on the difference between your current HP and max HP' per the patch notes.
That's a pretty big difference for me somtimes, like 3k.... has anyone seen this thing hitting for a lot of dmg? I stopped using it b/c the 5-second charge time wasn't worth the damage it did before....,
I haven't really done any kind of serious testing, but I'm not noticing much of a difference at all when firing it off at 90-100%HP and 40-50%HP. Maybe an increase of about ~10 damage per hit? Again, no real testing, just eyeballing it against the same types of mobs of the same level. It'd be a shame if the coolest looking Gladiator Weaponskill is still as lackluster as before.
i do not see any difference in the damage increase at all, even when my HP is around 10% and still does not see any significant increase of attack power. been testing on range level below 2 level and above 1 level of my Gladiator.

I just got this skill over the weekend, and to be honest, I don't think it's really worth it. 5 points and a 5 second cast time? Even if it does increase AP, I was killing mobs a lot faster using Circle Slash II or Onion Cut. The graphics and animation is nice and all, but it really isn't worth losing 2 auto attacks for.
The skill should be reduced to a 3 point skill, or the cast time removed so it fires off just like any other weapon skill.
The GLA in my 37ish party did it and hit for 22s. Seeing as it costs 5 points to set and takes 5 seconds to ready I don't see how this is viable, especially if the increased damage is barely noticeable. I haven't played on GLA since the patch to personally mess with numbers.
The only reason to use this is for the flashy animation. This skill sucks over circle slash 2. I'm not sure I would even use this if it was AoE 5 hits. Dmg is almost the same as circle slash and the 5 second charge is ridiculous. This skill needs a mathmatical overhaul. Perhaps if it granted us +500 enmity for using it then maybe..... At least then we could use it on HNM.
For now its just something to show the ps3 newbies when they come to make them go oo and aahh
I wonder when they are going to make this skill stop sucking. It looks cool yet it is absolutely 100% inferior to other weapon skills that come at lower levels.
I think they need to get rid of the cast time and give it some kind of special bonus like Riot Blade's enmity+.
Not sure who the monkey was that thought a 5 second cast time on a melee WS would be fun or remotely interesting was but they dropped the ball.

Given the GLA's role as a tank, and the modifier for damage being our current hp it makes no sense whatsoever for us to choose at our weakest moments to stop and do nothing for 5 seconds.
But who knows what will change when 1.20 comes out.
That being said, each individual hit is pretty lame... but when all 5 land it usually adds up to significantly more than a normal ws.
...plus it's kinda fun to watch...
Though I think instead of just modifying attack power it should directly modify damage.
