I am guessing the frequency of good / excellent procs for Heavensward 35 / 70 durability patterns were reduced to try to make the Heart of the Crafter skill useful. I would much rather have the proc rate return to at least ARR level and have the skill reworked. As it is it does not feel like much of a bonus to a specialist since you have to spend 45 CP and a delineation that you had to buy with blue scripts. Then you just get 7 steps with an increased chance of being good which means since you can't get back to back good procs the best you can hope for is 3-4 goods and probably will see less.
I would really like to see the whole specialist idea reworked as most of the skills feel way too random and way too situational. It felt like the point of the specialist was to be a way for people who were not omni crafters to be able to craft like us. It seems like it would have been a lot better to have given the specialist the ability to learn the skills normally cross classed as bonuses as they level. That would have put them on a more even footing. It would then give people the option to be a specialist or an omni crafter and still have similar ability with a specific crafting profession. Omni would still have the added benefit of not having to rely on other crafters to make some parts.
Could we please have our Good procs back?

In 2.0 - 2.5 I'd get anywhere from 5-11 Good's in a single full-length rotation. 11 Inner Quiet stacks was extremely common. In 3.0 I'm lucky if I see 3 Good's on a level 60+ synth. It was nerfed massively.

I have all kinds of weird procs. I will have times when it procs almost everytime it can and then times when I get zero and all fails...it should have some kind of balance. We are suppose to be MASTER crafters in our profession...how can we screw up on a craft that bad and fail every attempt with a 90% success rate. The game sure sticks to the "correct" % of HQ when you are quick synthing...hmmmmmm

The irony of the decreased chance for good/excellent conditions is that we rely on them for our specialist skills. Another reason why specializations suck at the moment.

I notice that when I don't use HQ Materials, the good/excellent conditions are very rare the most I get is 1or 2 sometimes none of a 22 craft step. I see it more often when I add some HQ materials to the synt.

The good proc was reduced by 2 reasons.
1.- Precise Touch. (with the old rate Precise would be OP)
2.- Heart of the Crafter. (Lower rate generates insentive to use these idiotic skills we dont even need)
Before good were common but not as to grant permanent 11 stacks ALL the time, not even close, there is a reason why every crafter will always roll reclaim and rumination on the most demanding crafts that absolutely need said 11 stacks (masterbook II). But yeah, it was nerfed, not even mentioned in patch notes probably to prevent a fire in the forums (which is silly considering the status of crafting...) and well, thats it. Old proc rate + Precise touch = OP. -

Mainly because I need more Careful Synthesis II to actually finish the items now. 9 stacks of IQ, though, that happens quite commonly - the max my macro allows. -

From my tests with the Heart skills, it seems that they were introduced for the purpose of making specialization work better, not to specifically give you an advantage (although they can). Specialization relies on good procs, so I feel that the Heart ability is a fix in response to the lower proc rate, not the other way around.Quote:

There might be a gradual decrease up until that point, but the difference between synthing a level 50 item and a level 60 item is like night and day in terms of procs. I have had numerous level 60 synths (long ones, in the realm of 20-30 steps) where the condition stayed Normal throughout the entire thing. That would almost never happen on a 2.x synth.Quote:
