I understand that there is the whole balancing the roles and if they add the wand, then their has to be a shield that is equal to balance it and make it equal to a staff and blah blah blah... plus we have to then have to farm primals for both the wand and shield... blah blah blah... but our last wand was ilvl 100 Levithan for WHM, and ilvl 90 for BLM... Don't get me wrong I love my staffs... but I want to use the Company shield... I don't tank... and since whm and blm can use it... only if we aren't level 60 with our ilvl 200 weapon...
Plus, we cant even use the garuda or moogle wands for whm glamour, or the ifrit and titan for blm... That takes those crafted 3 star items away...
It would be nice to add them back to the game, I understand staffs are easier... Even if they are added as crafted items, it would be nice to have that variety again for whm and blm... But that's just my own opinion :p

SE's been working on a fix for this problem for months now. You do know that 3.1 patch is supposed to include a multi-slot glamour update right?
That means we can glamour heavy body armor and robes with a single body/head piece or staffs with 1-handed wands, and vice-versa.
Whether they'll add wands equal to i210 is another question, but one that's possible given the fact that airships will give randomized i210 items. -

One of those diversity things, like classes branching into different specializations, that fell by the wayside I think. But as the poster above says, perhaps we'll be able to at least glamor them.
All things considered I wouldn't mind having options. -

Because whm/blm complained about having to farm 2 drops instead of 1 which was fixed until the Leviathan weapons dropped and whm had to gear like pld again.

Personally, I hated the one-handed wands and shields. However, I do agree that I really, really wish they would do something about the fact that the Ifrit, Garuda, Levi and Mog weapons are useless as glamours.

Paladin doesn't count on this because they don't actually have an option for the shield+sword combo. To keep things fair, they'd then need to add optional weapons (stat distributions) to every set for other jobs as well, no? I've always thought it was silly that CNJ and THM had the option for one- and two-handed weapons. Since that's the case for them, it would have made sense to me to have given one- and two-handed weapons. Gladiators, for example, could have been given 1h swords + shields and 2h-swords, which would in turn have opened up the avenue for Paladin as a tank and Dark Knight as a DPS. MRD could have been given Greataxes for Warrior and two 1h axes for a Viking DPS class.
A little bit of creativity would have enabled this to work for all classes and made the branching easier, if that's what SE still wanted to do. -

I would rather have them take the one handed weapons and use it on other jobs for examples just give wands to a magic tank like geomacer or illusionist. And give sceptors to mystic knighs kinda like(dragons dogma) knights with the staff and shield compo.
