2015 halloween event

Any word on when this will begin and will the eerie set be making a return? I really want to get that set as I missed the event last year due to RL circumstances.

i guess 1 week before halloween we get the info

I'd expect it around the 20th at the earliest, but they haven't announced anything. The set will undoubtedly be added to the Mogstation, so you could grab it off there when the event rolls around.

It's a different reward this year, witch broom mount and newer outfit. Someone data mined em, posted it here, immediately removed the post a couple months ago.

Well for the summer event they put the things on the vendor at a significant grind as well as the Mogstation. A better solution for me so that might repeat itself. Hopefully.

I'm thinking probably as always; they'll put up a page on the lodestone and link to it from the game launcher a few days to a week before the event starts, and then put last year's reward up on the cash shop a couple days before.

I'm not sure exactly why they put some of the old stuff in game for the summer event, though I enjoyed watching people get them, but it seems to have been a deviation from how they've organized these events' rewards since last October so though it would be nice to see the eerie set in game too, don't get your hopes up too much in case that doesn't happen.

just fyi on the summer event, the stuff in the vender was from 1.0. Thats why it was on the vender, the 2.0 stuff was put in the store first. All shop has been mostly 2.0 stuff outside the deer suit, that was 1.0.
But i agrre they really should do what they did in summer and add the gear to a vender u earn from the event. It keep the community doing the evemt longer then 1 day. I miss ff11 in this aspect, the community holuday events were built up they added more and more stuff to do as each event aged so players who just started gets the reward we also got. Having 1 shot events are well. meh

funny 1.0 story about the deer suit. I was a lalafell tward the latter of my days on 1.0 i did the x-mas event tossing snowballs at the snowman, anyway, an elezen dude comes yup and starts to do it to. At some point he accidently targeted me and hit me witrh a snowball. To be silly i just did /cry and he appologised. He then got the deer suit and said "i'm deffinately not putting this on. It looks silly" I walked up to him and said, "put it on, do it for payment on hitting me with a snowball" I didn't think he would humor me, be the dude put it on did the /groval emote it was funny. It made my day :)

As for the holloween event prolly second week of october, is when they will throw the topic up.

The previous moonlight faire also allowed you to buy old rewards in game. Maybe they listened to players wanting a non-mogstation way to get previous items?

I looked up the data mined items on Google. Super hyped now - can't wait!!

Yes, but not the items that was new last year. So who know.

I think a fair balance would be to have 2 years worth of items available on the event each year, the new stuff and last year's. When it goes into 3rd year, then it can go onto mogstation.

That way they can also alternate years between new costumes, and other items like minions and mounts, but still have a variety available at each year's event.

Alas, the items available off the vendor in the summer event was not last year's rewards. Last year's rewards were only on the Mogstation. The ones available in-game were the rewards from 2013 and earlier.

Is that broom confirmed to be a mount we can keep? Not this year, but last year's moon fire Faire had mounts that you could use during the events only.

But those mounts weren't added as items to the game, were they? o.o If it's listed as an item, it means it's something that can be in your inventory ^^; Otherwise it'd just be the same as an NPC.
Plus, google tells me it's listed as a quest reward. So...^^;

But of course this is mere speculation, since there's no official information as of yet 0=)

Yeah, I wouldn't hold my breath on that happening for Halloween or any other seasonal event. I'm fairly sure that the main reason it happened with the summer event is because of the shear number of equips that were available. It probably wouldn't sit well with them to have to deliver bundles of bikini/swimwear goods as a set or charge each piece of however many for $5. That's a bit ridiculous in cost and value, given the value is basically the exact same equip with a different color to it.

I absolutely loved the broom mount in WoW. Then they went ahead and made it have a limited time duration on it. *****es. Can only hope for a permanent one here.

*cough* Yet those items are now up on the Mogstation. (Edit: Priced at €3.50 per swimwear set, which I'm guessing would be $5 per set. €2.10 per yukata, €2.10 per drawers or knickers.)
If you ask me, though, it was the first event after Heavensward, and I'm guessing that had something to do with their decision to let the older gear stay one more time.

Was that the first WoW mount with limited time duration on it? Or was there any other precedence to it? Do mounts in WoW have different stats/speeds?
As long as it's given to us as a mount (which I deem to be a fairly reasonable assumption), it should follow the same rules as all other flight-worthy mounts. Because unless there's something really special with it, like being a faster mount or something, there's no reason to have a timer on it. It'd just be one more flying mount ^^;

Ah nevermind then. The price tag presence for individual pieces clearly wasn't the reason lol. I still think the number of available equips had something to do with it though. Hopefully old seasonal goods are making a comeback with in-game means, at any rate.

The broom, I think, was the first of the duration seasonal items. Its been years since that happened, so I'm not all that clear on it. I just remember being very disappointed by that change lol. I think it was that it always had a limited duration of 15 days, but it was determined by how long the player was active on that specific character, rather than a seasonal clock or server timer. I believe I intended to get it on alts to use months later, but then it changed to server time, then changed to seasonal event only. I was sad face when it disappeared from my inventories after the changes. The mount drops originally varied, as it could drop the epic flight version or any of the lower speed ones. Then it went to the all-in-one package that mounts are with WoW now.

If they make a side npc so you can buy the eerie set okay, though if its the same event you want with same quest I say no.

I want the holloween event but I want something totally new and refreshing, I said this before I don't want events to re-run like FFXI did and that really murdered the experience for me, +1 +2 +3 LATENT EFFECT, warp, cookie making, scooping +1 +2 now it was fun the first time around 2nd time meh 3rd time okay its getting old.

Also don't get me wrong not trying to be mean or anything and I know it sucks you missed the event but what about those who have waited for new events also it wouldn't be fair to toss a old event out and nobody else really does it cause they've done it before.

Well, from the looks of things we're getting a variation of Shady Smock's outfit along with all class shoulder gloves and thigh boots. I'm more excited for the gloves and boots than the rest.

If it's real I think the broom will stay. The thing with the mount from the moon fire faire was that it was the same as the mounts earned from the sahagin beastman daily quest, only with a different color. So it would have been unfair to players who worked their way to max rank and spent 120k on a mount just to have it handed out to everyone else for simply splashing water on a few half naked cat girls (if I remember right). So yeah, we should get to keep this one since theirs no where else to get it. Think of it as being like chocobo barding from other events, we can still use it out of season.

I get it and I am not asking to re-run the same event and same reward but I am mostly wanting the previous items to be available in some way even if it is on mog station.

Wow broom was instant cast which is why most people liked it. You looked ridiculous riding it like a horse, spread eagle.

They won't give you a year round use mount with no cast time.

Why would it be instant cast?

Why are MMO developers so keen on wasting our time with mount cast times anyway? I mean, I'd understand with WoW, but FFXIV has no open world PvP so it seems kinda pointless.

I just checked the new outfit. So... girls get an exclusive short dress based on the Patrician's coatee, and guys get... the old boring Patrician's coatee. That's been in the game since 2.0, possibly longer. Yay.

I'm still looking for a nice pair of dyeable heeled thighboots for my NIN set.

Solid color. No stupid designs. NO stupid pointed toes.

Not happening. The one single good looking pair is a healer set or bard set.. and they only work because they're already black.

I wear a pair on my healer and her robes that I could never actually wear on anything without a robe because of the stupid funnel top to them...

blah. Boot designs in general suck.

...yeah I find it yet another sad sign of priorities shifting that they put the old Halloween event items up for sale in there before giving any info on this year's event. And while at it, it's a very minor detail, but that "new items available!" text should read "new to the shop!" or some such, when none of the items are actually new...

Looks like your eerie set is available! For cold hard cash though... and people complain about the Blizzard store - at least ALL previous seasonal items are available every year from the holiday vendors for event currency.

in 1.0 we had no mount cast times...seems like we're goin backwards lol
