Chaos server transfers and FC housing

I have looked all over these forums for this bit of information but I haven't been able to find anything.

I have some friends I left in the Shiva server, they are located in the US, who have invested a lot of time, effort and money in their FC house. Up until last week, the latency wasn't an issue but with the physical migration of the data center to Europe it has become one.

They want to transfer but they have no idea what's going to happen with their FC house. Has SE mentioned anything about this? Will they have to destroy everything, sell the deed and get out? Or will SE address this situation somehow?

If anyone has any info/link to a thread or bit of information on the Lodestone talking about this I would really appreciate it.

I'm pretty sure all the designated European servers are going to keep everything as is, so there shouldn't be any worry over housing if you stay on the EU marked servers after the switchover is completed. However, like any standard transfer, moving to a different server means you have to give up the house.

But they're forced to change servers due to hindrance to their gaming experience which is the reason they made transferring from EU servers free of charge. I think they should address this issue too.

They're going to lose their homes either way if they transfer servers. What's supposed to happen if the plot on their destination server is already occupied? What if there's zero free plots after they move?

Even if you transfer within the same data center, you would have lose the housing plot. So in this case, I guess it's normal.

There is a big difference between changing servers at your free will and being forced to do so due to physical relocation of the server itself.

So why do those specific servers get more wards just for people making transfers? How is that fair for everyone else who aren't transferring and are still looking for a house? What if someone transferred later and all the new wards got filled up? Sucks to be them?

All worlds would receive new wards but locked initially. Those who are transferring from EU servers and have houses will gain access to them exclusively until the period which allows for free transfer is expired. After that all empty lots are opened to everyone.

I think I am being reasonably fair in my suggestion. Everyone else aren't suffering any loss due to relocation of servers. Actually I will question your concept of "fair" if you think it's alright for them to leave their houses and plots and transfer to other worlds because SE is changing the server location.

Its as fair as why EU players on NA servers doesnt get a free transfer.

my biggest issue is I cant get the character I need to move to the server I want to move it to because it has been on lockdown for 24/7 for three days so I loose my legacy 60 charcter in a way to my 2.0 character which is on a legacy server, not to mention the gil restriction on transfers which means I need to pray for a good market to move my cash because the gold coins has gone through the roof to just liquidize funds that way to move and none of this has been addressed at all

They aren't forced. Being forced would mean SE throws their characters on random US realms without giving people a choice.

Also, your suggestion about housing is not fair or reasonable in the slightest. People have waited years for new housing and you think some random people migrating to their server should get first pickings on new wards and take the best spots. Nope nope nope.

I can support giving people free transfers to and from Chaos but I cannot support rewarding people with VIP housing access for their bad server choices.

people are not forced to do anyhting lol, i am from eu and i play on na server balmung, 5 years now, it is not that dreadful as you think it is playing on a far away server, and what to say about people who do want to get into an eu data center but are on na one, they have to pay the transfer it is not free for them, what about that? p.s. houses on balmung cost 80mil gil cause there are no more free spaces, so the price skyrocketed, and a lot of people are waiting for someone to sell a house and you Yaichiro are suggesting someone should get a free one when they transfer? NO!

I'm an east coast american player on ps3 playing on a jp world server. I have had 0 issues playing. I'm also used to it as I played ff11 for 7-8 years and that was exclusively in japan. if they are transfering they have to disband the FC sell the house. You can't be in an fc when you xfer. Also transfers bypass the server lock you can't have 1.0 retainers.
