So the patch is here, and well I'm only 42, but things seem to have just gotten tough. I was doing imperial devices with a couple friends last night. They were 50 con and thm, both walk in and cast do over 500 dmg aoe per mob, which I was commonly hitting before the patch. Now its taking me several shots to kill the mobs dead, and I'm killing 1 to there 5.
So if gear is supposed to have more effect what can we do to make our damage better.
Seems like we lost a good bit did we gain anything I'm missing?
Really looking for constructive help to make Arc better because I was enjoying it.

Arc was nerfed, sorry to say, as im using archer myself. Buuut, archer was very op before patch, so i saw it coming.
Best you can do is get gear below or same level and add materia to it.
Also, colored gear got bonus stats, just sayin ;) -

Yeah currently I don't think we've gained anything at all.. Just got nerfed down alot harder than the patch notes would lead you to believe. As it stands now, if ARC was ur only job, TIME TO START LEVELING SOMETHING ELSE.

Buy level appropriate arrows.
In 1.18 you could get away with using lv 1 through your whole career.
Just an example:
In 1.19
@lv 47 with lv 1 arrows I hit equal level mobs for ~80-100 damage.
@lv 47 with lv 47 arrow I hit equal level mobs for 150-160 damage. -

My Alpha Strike (Trifurcate with all the buffs) Used to hit 5 Star Leve Mobs for 500-600 per arrow, now they do 150-200. Weapon Skills seem to be affected less, they are doing less damage in some cases (Bloodletter) and more in others (Foeseeker, Barrage-With a new animation btw).
I personally thought it was a bit broken before, I could very easily solo 5 Star Leves at Rank 45.
Still soloing 5 Stars at 49, just takes a little longer without that big chunk of HP taken off at the start.
I'm fine with being still the best Non-Mage DD.
They've made the game more challenging, this is probably a good thing. They are balancing the game as well, also a good thing.
Not having any need or desire to group in an MMO since launch was a bigger problem, and I've played with others more since the 1.19 update than I have since launch day.
I'll take a little damage off my ARC if we can add in some actual fun. -

Are we able to sign a petition that they completely ruined my favorite class in the game? I feel like they nered archer so bad because others were complaining "Oh Archer is so OP...It's not fair...everyones just gonna be an archer" Well now I've had over 5 level 50 Archer friends that refuse to bring out their Archer at all now.
Everyone can argue that because of the stats disappearing everyone got nerfed, but Archer seems more so than any other. I'm already upset that the class I'll be advancing to is Bard....not Beastmaster or anything, but now you make my favorite class worthless? Thanks Squeenix -

I leveled my two sub-classes(Carpenter, Botany) to support my Archer. This has been a huge blow, I will admit we were a bit over powered before, but this is just stupid now. My LS is starting to only want to take lancers to Ifrit, because they support more and out dps us. I still enjoy playing archer, but sadly we are being phased out. Well, I'm pretty new to this game, had it maybe a month now, but I've barely been playing up until recently.
I had leveled all the classes up to a certian point as to where I got sick of them, just to find out what I liked in this game. I generally prefer Archer/ranged classes over anything, but I decided to try go for a different approach and play melee, for a bit of variance (albeit it failed miserably).
I started playing ARC ~3-4 days before 1.19 hit, and I loved it. It was tons of fun, so I decided I'm gonna keep on keeping on.
Then Bard was announced. My dreams were coming true (also dem harpbow things look awesome). &&& then 1.19 hit.
Do I feel like I hit less? Yes.
Can I visibly notice in parties that I'm hitting less (minus Multi-shot with 3 arrows nocked) Hells yes.
Do I care? Noooope!
The class is a ton of fun, and although I have noticed a lot less people with Bows on their back in Ul'dah, I don't care - at all. It is only 1.19, there's a looooong way to go, and if the class is fun, play it! -

Archer gained nothing from the update, we only got nerfed. Archer is pure damage and as such should be one of the top 2 DDs in the game, now we are the bottom. No point in playing archer until this is addressed.

Even bloodletter's DoT that was giving the most damage tend to miss so often now.
Oh yeah, one thing, i can deal double damage with propers buff ! but my double damage is still doing 1/4 of others DD damage ! -

Try this:
Trifurcate > Raging Strike II > Foeseeker: 700-900 Dmg on a lv 50 beatman mob.
My lancer hits same rank mobs for 120-190. (lv 50 polearm)
My archer hits same level mobs for 100-160. (i'm using level 42 dated blue arrows since no cobalt arrows are available, I think my damage would match using lv 50 arrows ) -

I typically don't nock 3 arrows anymore until we're in-between fights. I've been doing 2, saving Trifurcate for Foeseeker. Mind you, it doesn't do as much as Storm's Path but it's still a potent AoE.
Buffing the hell out of Light Shot isn't ARC's strong point anymore... it's not like there aren't ways to work around it.
Also: What kind of materia have people been attaching to gear? I did +Crit on my body and +ATK on my hands but since you can't equip STR+ on the bow I was wondering about DEX+ or more +Crit as far as what to equip on a Crab Bow. I'd try to equip both but I don't have Carpenter high enough to keep making bows and I don't have several T4 DEX/Crit materia to burn if I keep blowing up.
