Why can't we select bismark or ravana normal/ex or the Alexander norm/savage turnsas options in party finder? This is annoying because you can't set search conditions to notify you when these groups come up.

*in creepy ghost voice* NO ONE KNOWS.....
I'm surprised they aren't in PF already. I don't use the PF so I haven't looked at it before, but it will most likely get added in 3.1. Until then, guess it's the manual check for those of us that need the content :(
I think it's their treatment to the "hardcore" player base. For the same reason Alex Savage is not in DF. Get your party and FC or use linkshells to gather ppl and manually go for it. But I really do not agree with it. Almost nobody uses the Party Finder system and whenver they do they ask for too high ilvl or experience leaving ppl who want practise out of it. We could use the DF for practise but SE decided this is Hardcore content. Not all of us are in big FC's. This tactic leave most of the people out of that content. I do not agree with it.
I see it as pure laziness. there's no reason why it can't be in pf.
It's a good question. Maybe it's something for the suggestion forums...
So here I guess? http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/f...User-Interface
As far as programmers go, they rarely have time to address every possible issue. Instead they just make lists. I'm sure this was a known issue but probably not very high on the list.
Simply put: it's still considered "difficult" content, and NOT mandatory for progression. Thus they maintained the Full Party restriction on it as they have with all else considered difficult content.
I don't HAVE to challenge any extreme primals for any other reason than challenge sake. If I were not a player concerned with gearing up to the highest degree possible, Law tome weapons and gear would still be more than enough for anything I want to do in game thus far. But there IS a percentage of the community that wants more, and we are actually the minority. To facilitate our goals, we find each other; we don't rely on the Duty Finder, and likely never will.
It is not something lazy on SE's part, it's simply a means to regulate optional content, and one that is always lifted with time/play data feedback.
Posting from my phone, can't edit, and say it was Party Finder, not Duty Finder.
That answer's even simpler: not everyone playing has Heavensward, and if the Coil turn naming conventions were any indication, there's always gonna be that guy that misreads something. And when you consider that "Leveling" roulette also entails the 51-59 dungeons now too, that's still content not everyone could access via PF just yet.
Or it could be as simple as an oversight on their part. Stranger things have gone unnoticed.
My server is a high population legacy server and we also have dozens of entries in the Party Finder.
Half of them are crafting, three are FATE parties, and the last entries are EX Primals. HOWEVER, YOU HAD BETTER KNOW THE FIGHT PERFECTLY OR YOU'RE KICKED AND SHUNNED FOREVER.
That's the state of the Party Finder.
One reason is probably because of this : http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/f...threads/259928
Not sure the fact that people don't have 3.0 is a good reason to leave 3.0 content out of party finder. Seems they ought to cater to the players who support the game the most.
PS3 limitations.
What? Right now (1:30pm Eastern or so, not exactly peak hours) on my server there are 11 parties, several of which are looking for static members for savage, a couple of individuals who are looking for statics, a couple of Ravana EX farms, a couple of people selling items, and a Dravanian Hinterlands FATE party.
So make your own learning party. With blackjack. And hookers.
I've never had this problem. There's always a learning party to join at some point in the day, and the people there are quite nice. Sure you look up the fight beforehand, but my PuGs have always been patient and willing to explain things people don't understand.
That's what happens when we've had nothing but 6 new boss battles total for a few months now (Bismarck, ravana, A1-A4). He said no one used party finder though, which is highly incorrect.
Also, nothing is stopping anyone from forming their own learning party....
