Scary monster is back...?

I was so happy not to see any gill seller on on my chat screen and it was nice and calm for a while. But last few days I am starting to get spam from gill seller. I can live with 1 or 2 every an hour or two but 5 message every 10-15min is a bit overwhelming.
Am I the only one getting these spam again? :confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

They've been around for every single moment this game has been live. The frequency was the only thing that varied, but rest assured, SE has actively tried to do as little as possible to stop their rein of terror upon player QoL.

On Behemoth we are started to get spammed again and my Blist is filling up again...damn it!

I've been spammed pretty much nonstop since returning and rerolling on Mateus back in July. It's absurd.

Well I'm on tonberry and havnt had any RMT tells since I've been here which is like 9 months now.

They just hit Ishgard on Excaliber. :( It was so peaceful until I got that /tell. I reported the offending RMT, /blist and move on is all I can do.

On Famfrit, it never stopped at that frequency except for during the Early Access period for Heavensward.

Got like. three tells since HW started and no friend requests. It's great.

I'm not getting any friend request but i'm getting random tells from dtmftkdgnlxhs ajiwoeeww or tdmaieiw wweieaa.

No friends reqs and only 9 tells since June 23

They died down for a while on Sargatanas after HW launched, but for the last week or so, they've been spamming more frequently, though still not as bad as it was pre HW.

Part of what helps control RMT activity is how full your server is. After HW launched, all servers were full just about all the time, and it was harder for RMT to get into especially the larger servers like Gilgamesh or Balmung. The login queues also slowed things down. Now that people aren't logging in as much, they're resurging.

not even when i'm not in HW areas - so i guess they gave up? cause it's not like they gonna spend all that time to get to HW, where most ppl are, just to get deleted.

You guys are also, as stated, in servers that are so popular its hard for even new people to create a character. Of course the RMT is going to have trouble creating tell bots there :P

Actually, the fact that the frequency varies is the best evidence that SE DOES combat the problem. If SE did nothing at all, the stream would be constant and continuous.

Each time SE implements a fix (such as removing the ability to /tell from new characters), there's a lull while the RMT figure out a way around the issue. Then they're back in force!

There are certainly solutions that players have suggested that SE hasn't tried, but that's mostly because the players' so-called "solutions" are mind-numbingly stupid and self-centered.

Just got two of them on Excalibur within the last three days.

They usually pop up after maintenance but then go away again for a while

While I agree that some solutions that are proposed may not be very good ideas, but at the very least the ability to click on the name of the RMT and then select report would be very helpful and would save players a lot of time as it would allow the player to report the RMT without having to go through the process of filling out a ticket to be submitted for review. Basically SE could simply receive a list of RMT who have been reported using the report function and then monitor the in game activity of those character names. Although it should be quite obvious that a name like Wxsdfa Asdfgh is an RMT. ~.ø b

Jenova is pretty bad. Constant tells and people in town spamming /say

Friend requests have died down some, but i still get them randomly.

I still feel like a plex/chronoscroll/credd/whatever system would go a long ways in alleviating RMT issues, as it has done for other games in the past.

i used GW rmt blocking filter and have had zero rmt tell since a loooonnggg time
