Can we please get the option to hide the TP bars and have the old list?

I don't know why this wasn't a feature. Besides 2 classes, you don't need to know other people's TP. It's a great feature to anyone who needs it, but kind of just clutter to people who don't.

It's useful to everyone, healers/tanks will know when the party dps will drop due to TP restraints and can prepare for it and naturally it's useful for those with TP regen skills, and other (good) dps will notice their fellows dps output will drop and can pick up the slack a bit...

Allowing it to be turned off will just result in fussy ass players which actually have TP regen skills to turn it off again and we are back to square one. With it on all the time people have no excuse to be lazy and unsupportive of the party.

Heck 70% of all BRDs I meet still don't use Mages Ballad even when they've always been able to see The parties MP, even when asked... The less of this lazy, unsupportive behaviour we get the better...

I wonder which two classes you mean? To my count classes with TP Regen abilities that can be applied to other party members are rogue/ninja, bard, machinist and astrologian. And I might be missing some. Nor am I sure if Goad can be cross classed to some other jobs too.

If this is implemented, please also create a text command so i can macro it on/off depending on the class/job I switch to.

If implemented, I'd want the option to be class/job specific. The bars start out showing for all of them, but players who want to hide them can do so individually for specific jobs.

But anyway, there's other sources of screen clutter I'd be a lot more interested in being able to turn off. Like how it always shows everybody's FC, or those notices that fill the center of the screen just to reiterate information that's already shown in the quest tracker and chat window. The TP bars may not always be the most important information, depending on which job you're on, but at least they don't disrupt your view nearly as much as these others do.

I just miss when it had the number beneath my bar. Maybe it's something wrong with my particular brain, but I just can't look at that bar visually and match up exactly how much I have left and tune my abilities accordingly. It's the same thing with that silly cog on macro buttons. What is the purpose of that? Can't I just see what I named my macro like every other game on the planet? It CAN'T be that resource intensive if games decades prior managed it.

This UI still needs some tweaks.

The TP bar is not so useful to most of the jobs. We could say the same for the MP bar, but the healers all need MP, and it's good to be able to know when your healers are low on MP and won't be able to heal you as they should. You can use your selfheal skills and if you're OT help the MT by switching. Although, even if they're useful in combat, they're useless and take space while wandering Eorzea.

Here are some ideas :
* We don't need to see the MP count for the team members ! The only thing we need is to know if the MP level is high or low. If you remove the MP count, this will reduce memory consumption, and you could even put the TP bar in the space left there, underneath the MP bar.
* You could allow us to hide the MP / TP bars when not in combat. This way more space more joy seeing the beautiful scenery !
* We don't really need a bar for MP or PT. You could just replace bars by a MP and PT icon, showing us when MP / PT are Low / Normal / High. This way, you could reduce network throughput (no more big numbers, just statuses 0/1/2), and reduce display memory footprint. And we would even have more space to see what we're doing and where we're going.
* You could disable MP / TP bars for classes who don't consume them.

Anyways, thanks a lot for your work, I hope these ideas get through.

1. Meh it's personally preference but I'd rather have a specific number than have to guess how much they have left, I don't agree with moving the TP bar under the MP bar though, currently it mimics our parameter bar which is fine and having two thin bars close together isn't the most handy thing to have when I'm glancing over the list quickly, the layout is fine as it is now IMO and the least cluttered.
2. I don't see the point, the scenery will still be blocked out by the party members names, just set a macro to hide/show the party list if you're that concerned.
3. I think a bar is much better than an icon, a simple low/medium/high is not accurate enough for anyone playing the game even half seriously. You'd ideally want to play TP/MP effects before they start running low, but with your icon idea I'll have no idea when they are low until it's too late because all I'll see is "medium" until it they hit the threshold for "low". A bad idea when a bar is simple and easily better. I'm not prepared to save memory bandwidth for a inferior UI.
4. And end up with a horrible mismatched UI with holes in it? Not to mention its completely possible every job will make use of each resource HP/MP/TP in the future. There's a use for every bar for every class, just because it's not used constantly to make actions doesn't make it less important. Technically sprinting counts as consuming TP and therefore would fall under your definition, but if a mechanic required say... A healer to sprint across the arena, but they have no TP to do so you wouldn't know would you? Where as if you see their TP bar is empty someone else can do it instead.

Basically by allowing people to remove what should be essential player data, you are limiting future mechanics and systems because the devs cannot be certain people will have the data needed for any new mechanics they think up and thus any new content will have to be designed to assume player data is not available and improvements in the game cannot be performed as easily.

Seriously if people don't care about their party members and the efficiency of teamwork then go play a single player game! So we can continue having good things...

For point 2, I don't want to hide the party members when I chat with them. But I don't want the screen cluttered with useless bars. We don't need them out of combat.
For point 3, it's not for your bars, but for other members' bars. You don't need to know the number even to play half seriously. Low can be 40%. A bar is more work for the machine and the network.
As for point 4... I never saw the MP and PT bars as a way to tell people they play bad, and I never will.

I have to second the opinion, if the party bars bother you so much, go hide the party list. Also regardless of bar or icon the load on computer and server are near the same because doing the calculation when to show the icon change has to be done each frame anyway which can even be less efficient than just pass the raw data and manipulate lineally adjusted screen item. And as pointed, bar gives good overview while the icons are just useless for any practical purpose.

The TP bar being shown helps tremendously, and not being able to see the numbers is okay too. Because unlike MP, TP is always 1000 and its easier to judge when someones TP is at 50%, based on the amount the bar is filled. The one odd thing I find is how soo many people asked for a TP bar, and now they got it. But now others are asking for it to be removed, with a toggle switch, but still. Oh well, you can't want for trying. Honestly what I would rather have are abilities for the classes that dont use MP, to use MP. I think Warrior, Monk, Dragoon, and Ninja, don't use any MP, and they have plenty of moves that could.
