How the new Synastry works

Just did some testing on the buffs to Synastry and it's.... FAR stronger than the patch notes make out.

Synastry heals the target for 40% of any single target heal you cast EVEN HEALS YOU CAST ON THE MAIN TARGET OR YOURSELF.

If you cast Synastry on the tank and then cast Benefic on the tank for 3000, the tank will be healed for 3000 + 1200. This is in addition to the 20% healing boost, so what -would- have been a 3000 Benefic turns into a 3600 + 1400 heal. 5000. It's a +66% healing boost on the target if you spam them.

The 20 second healing boost debuff is a separate buff on yourself - also note that you can't extend Synastry via Time Dilation as before - it extends the target's duration to 35 seconds but both buffs fall off when the healer's one runs out.

Also, it seems AOE heals and heals over time do not proc the synastry effect as before, so if you cast Aspected Benefic neither the AOE heal nor the HoT it leaves will heal the Synastry target more than once. This is to be expected though!

Still... wow. Say hello to the strongest tank healing cooldown in the game.

5000 ... isnt much? well thats the way it feels to me anyway.

The average cure2 does only a little less than that (without being buffed by DV or Convalescence) but if you get a crit it can easily top 9k ... and thats just raw whm healing.

These buff are good and AST needed them, but people are over reacting on both sides now lol

Well i mean, compared to what Synastry was, pre-buffs, i can understand the strong reaction to it, it isn't much also because its just a random example lol.

Oh no, i just picked a random number to illustrate the point. It's a 66% increase on the target if you spam them. If your benefic healed for 10,000 it would now be healing the tank for 16600 in total. Depends on gear.

That said, my Benefic 1 heals for about 3000 in my current gear (AST's an alt so it's 190 ravana weapon with a mix of 190 gordian parts and 180 Law). Benefic II is more like 4800, which would scale up to about 8000.

While that may be true, we're saying 5000 for Benefic 1.

The calculation for Benefic 2 (the equivalent of Cure 2) is a bit over 8100, non critical.

So every Benefic 2 for 20 seconds healing a guaranteed 8k+? Pretty powerful indeed.

This is kind of weird, but i used today colelctive unconscious and after i stopped channeling and was moving, the regen effect stayed on me for the whole duration even if i was casting spells. i dont even get if its intended. AST received some pretty damn good buffs

I have to imagine this is intentional, the damage reduction effect fades as soon as the bubble breaks, but the regen specifically has a timer and does not fade. If the regen did fade as soon as people step out of the bubble, then CU would still be relatively useless, as no amount of regen potency in it would make up for the loss of GDCs while using it.

It's a little unwieldy to use as it is anyway, because the regen effect is tied to being inside the bubble, you'll usually have to sacrifice a GCD or two to keep it up long enough for the server tick to apply it in the first place.

It's really useful CU now. If you are about to take a big hit, use CU and your party receives -10% damage, then you cancel CU and they still get a regen.

yeah i believe it was intended too, otherwise i dont think they would have nerfed potency from 200 to 150. I also noticed that somehow it still applies buff only after like.. 5 seconds.

I really like this change to CU. It makes it feel sexy now.
