It's Squal Leonhart, not Lockhart. Lockhart is just a butchering of Lockheart, which refers to Tifa Lockheart.

Either way, I see way to many that its almost embarassing. More so I saw someone named "Tifaa Locckhaart" Because you know, the original was already taken.

i think we suggest so new last names

and bane to any name is make good fantasy name for last

bane mean that you defeat that. for example if someone called them shadow bane it mean they are bane of the shadow

Well judging by your character name of course you wouldn't care. Perhaps embarassed is the wrong word I should use, but its kinda ... "eh" to see so many people using the same last name.

Every now and then, you'll find someone who tried to be original and call themselves by a less pop-culturey name - only to find that even THAT was taken. And then go ahead and use it anyway, and wind up with something like Abraham Lincoln'.

Dang, guess he was late to jump on the Abe Lincoln bandwagon!

On a side note, I was a bit surprised at just how many Abe and Abraham Lincolns popped up on my Lodestone search.

I understand what you mean. I was just confused as to why someone would be embarrassed by someone elses character name.

I think it was maybe more funny to me cus I can only imagine they typed "Tifa Lockhart" name taken "Tifaa Lockhart" name taken and just kept doubling letters till it worked xD

Though I am sure I am not the only Higurashi fan and surely someone else has tried to use my name too, only downside is I have yet to find a cosplay set ingame to match that isnt her school girl outfit.

Yeah I agree in that I find it stupid when people just lengthen the names of actuall FF characters. It just looks stupid.

In 1.0 there was a quest in the shroud (iirc, been a while XD) that made fun of those using previous Final Fantasy key character names and mispelling them.

Hopefully someone screenshotted the dialogue and posts it *hint hint* XD

I'm fine with the Lockharts, Leonhearts, Highwinds, and Kirito. but I really hate those Uchiha. everytime I see the name I want to kick the guy out of my party.

It's technically against ToS to use one of their older ff characters names, I can't remember exactly where but its in there

My character shares the same last name as my boyfriend's character (there is one other Noblus, but it's a Lala on a different server). I've run into the trouble of people thinking that I'm him, because they remember the last name. XD I also get a lot of RMT spam. Because my name has "Sell" in it, which apparently translates to "SELL ME ALL UR GIL PLZ".

I think the most common last name I see is Tia, but its usually the bots/RMT that keep the Tia last name. XD I have met quite the handful of Uchiha's in dungeons, though... and Lionhearts.

I see alot of Lockhart's and Highwind's. I always say to myself, "man there ancestors sure did get busy often" /laugh and am on my way.

So many Targaryens. I could have sworn Daenarys was the last one but nope I was very wrong.

I never paid attention to FF8 (I only played 7 actually, was always too busy in life for the rest) and didn't realize for a long time I was using the last name for one of the characters in it xD thought I made the last name up tbh xD I ended up looking it up when I noticed all those that had the same last name as me running around lol. Only reason I used it is I thought Lionhart when I was making a character with the lion type tail. Ended up going human and so changed to leon instead of lion...

No originality.

There are so many no one would think they once were an almost extint family bloodline!!

This problem would be fixed if people just used...lore-friendly....names....

I'd rather see repeated FF based names then "Makim Squirt" >_> or variations thereof.

The only reason Kirito annoys me is that he's by far the most boring character of that series. There's like...at least 10 decent characters in that show yet the only one anyone seems to want to name themselves is Kirito? And it's not just in this game, it's almost every MMO I log into these days. I've even seen "Kiritoe". At least Sasuke Uchiha had character development. /rant

Oh I agree, to each their own. If you're going to name your character off a character in a show you like, have at it. I can see why people would like the show, I just don't understand how people like that character in particular. But, that's life. Kirito is the new Naruto/Sasuke. I'm curious as to what will be next.

So I started as Talia Snow, because my character was really white/pale with ice white hair and it fit! ... but then, later down the line I got married to a Lionheart in game and became Talia Lionheart. Even took fantasia and went with gold/blonde themed stuff because LIONS! (I love big cats, so shush). Things would have stayed that way, only I saw more and more Talia names on my server which made me decide on a name change to Natalia Lionheart /confesses


That doesn't really have anything to do with the topic tbh. I have seen so many Bleach/Nartuo characters running around though - Game of Thrones too. For real, as I'm typing this, a Roe character just ran past mine called Sam Snow. Coincidence? Maybe! But we all know Sam and Jon are BFFs in Game of Thrones.

Same, plus quite a few Uchihas and even a ( insert Dragonball Z name ) + Uchiha combo. I don't see as many Strifes and Lockhearts as I did on Gilgamesh.
