If you have not yet start the download do so now and wait for about 0.01% then go to Game folder--->Final fantasy xiv --> ffxiv --> Then find where you see a patch "D2011.10.04.0000.patch' then put the one you download there.

Open up ffxiv and it should load from 0.01% to 100% in a few sec and then take a short while to get it done.

Note: I hope i don't get in trouble for posting this on here just trying to help others too SE fix the issue with the download.

Ty Ty, same issue with 0% download, Rift puts up torrents for their updates, works wonderful.

my download was going so slow 5 hours for 35 percent. so i stopped the download opened the FF folder found a file called uploader clicked it and a box came up asking if i wanted to allow this program i said yes and the dowload worked fine after that i know you guys have got a fix now, but its something u can try in the future

You can't put it in the folder where the game is installed, as said in an earlier post. My game is installed in
C:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XIV\

To get the updater to use the downloaded patch, i had to put it here:

C:\Users\*name*\Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV\downloads\ffxiv\48eca647\patch\

In case it means anything: I use Windows 7 64-bit, other versions may have different folders.

*bows before* You just saved me another twelve hours of irritation! you made sure my mind stayed sort of sane!

Tried to download this link and got to 90% complete when an error occured and stated "D2011.10.04.0000.patch could not be saved cause file location could not be found" any ideas?

I know thousands of people play this game, and I only see a handfull posting about download issues here every update. Yet they always blame SE or the downloader. I nor most I know never have issues with it. I am not saying there is no problem. I am simply saying its just as likely that its you, your ISP, or system thats the issue then it is SE.
