Will the Lightning Event come to 2015? I want that Hair so much '-'
I really hope not. We've already had it THREE times already and it was originally only an event for the cross promotion thing they did.
90% they might add it to the cash shop because that seems to be the trend lately.
The only way I see them bringing it back is through the cash shop as we have had the event three times i believe.
This could possibly come as a cash shop item some time in the future, I would however like some more of these type of mini events, not had a decent one in ages
Can they sell it in the cash shop, though? After all, the items/hair were all in game rewards for a quest. Not sure what the agreement was, but at the very least both games are SE games.
Maybe it's a matter of licenses and legal stuff? But I'm not sure.
Or it could be more personal, Yoshi P is friends with LR devs and he might feel uncomfortable in putting his friend's work shop for profit, then there's also the fact that many players are fed up with her returning
Oh, it's this thread again.
The Lightning Strikes event rewards were there as a thank-you to players for putting up with a truly shameless marketing blitz. They're meant to be exclusive to those of us who were there to suffer through those dark days.
The Lightning event was purely for promotion of that horrid game know as XII and it 3rd sequel that was coming out.
I'd like for the event to come around again.
If not, I'd like the stuff to go up on the mogstation eventually.
inb4 MUH UNIQUENESS YOU CANT HAVE ANY OF IT
From the Cash Shop it would be nice too. I hope it will come out soon :(
NO! I want to be special so back the f*** off scrubs!!! D:< *hugs l'cie bardiche tightly*
Player: Can we have this event back?
Forum: Oh no. We had this event so many times. Also, you missed getting the event item back then and we want that item to remain special to us.
SE: Ok then. I'll just place the old event items on the mogstation.
Forum: OMG! SE so greedy when they could have just given the item in an event!
I sure hope not, it doesn't make sense Lightning came and done her job and looping again.
If lightning returns it should be something new and for something different.
I rather not see this game do final fantasy XI +1 rehashing of events over and over and over again.
Dear SE make them do a extreme fight for the hairstyles if they want them so badly they'll fight it.
I don't get why people are so against some Event being added again or whatever? Is it really that big of a hindrance in your play experience? Most of everyone hangs out in Iylldeshire and Foundation these days where as the NPCs for Lightning Returns events are in the starting towns. That aside, I wouldn't mind if they added them again or not. Would be nice to toss in some of the actual Lightning Returns gear such as Snow's suit or Lighting's Outfit. If they put it in cash shop, I'm good with that too. Either way, it's not really that big of a deal.
And really...XIII is NOT that bad as people want to keep making it out to be. e.e;
I wouldn't be too surprised if they bring it back to promote the PC port whenever it comes out.
Put in lé cash shop so it'll fix the whole " i missed the event and want the items " problem.
Dozen of ppl before OP wanted the lightning event to make a return. Luckily SE spammed the event for so & so reasons = ppl who missed out eventually got their items.
But ofc Ppl like OP didn't care about future players when they made the thread as its always about me me me.
Just put in the cash shop so future new players wont have to bring up this thread every few months or so.
I have a feeling there will be FF-7 remake event.
Why not just give up on timed quests and any sort of exclusive extras? Just make everything available for everyone, make all events and such permanently present so that all people can get all the goodies, no matter when they come or what they do. Better yet, forget about events and quests, just add the rewards from them straight to the cash shop. Why not?
[/sarcasm]
No, seriously though. I'm sick of people not being able to grasp the simple concept of "timed exclusives". You weren't there - sorry for you, but that's how it is, move on. I'm sad that I couldn't get the original goobbue mount in 1.0, or the whatever horn it is some event rewarded players with - never once did I ask for any of those to be put in the cash shop. They were there, I didn't get them, that's that.
And everyone can poke fun at people "wanting to feel like special snowflakes" when it comes to items like this, and their later availability in the game, but hello - they are things with the core concept of them being this exact goal. They are "rare", they are only available temporary, yes of course it'll make people who get them want to preserve that "special snowflake" status it gives them. One could say "working as intended", because that's really the case.
Good grief. Can we just let Lightning stay wherever the hell she is? The event was around THREE TIMES. Honestly I hope they add the stuff to the cash shop to end these threads already.
we want be selfish only care about are self. have every thought anyone else but you guys. they new player who might want get lightning hair and head. Sure i be hypocritical, yet also am legacy players. yet I realize they new players who just wnat have this too.
Cash shop incomming !
Personally, I don't care about the items. But I really do like the XIII series, so being able to play that would be fun.
And if they don't bring it back? Oh well. There will be other events. Like the VII remake and XV release.
AST globe in shape of Cocoon. {Can I have it?}
The reason I would be against a return of the event is that I, since I already cleared it, can't participate in it.
So while it would be nice for new players, the old players get nothing from it.
But instead of adding it to the mogstation, they should make it buyable for MGP
Not that I'm pointing you out as saying this. But there are people pegging OP for being selfish in wanting this to come back so they can get the items. The 'verse can be said about the people that were there because of the bold statement. You have nothing to gain from it, so why bring it back? As I mentioned earlier, it's just another fate in the area that bothers no one. The NPCs don't hog your screen or anything or call you over like they're trying to force the event in your face. If they did bring it again, it literally would do nothing to interfere with anyone.
Overall, mogstation, MGP, Event(which really is the debatable issue), it's, at the end of the day, isn't going to bother anyone. *Shrugs*
I wouldn't mind having another Lightning event in the game. I love the FF13 series so it sure won't bother me ;)
While they're bringing it back, why not give everyone the legacy status and tattoos as well? It doesn't bother anyone.
It 's called a limited time event, yet they've already brought it back 3 times. Personally, I don't care if they bring it back permanently or whatever, but some others might not feel that way.
As someone who got all of the items the first time it came out.... I actually wouldn't mind them bringing it back. They were good FATE designs after all.
Regarding the rewards, these really should be accessible in some way (either via event or vendor). It's clear we have players who are just worried about losing their special snowflake status of having exclusive items.
Using "Limited" anything should be taken with a grain of salt. Limited Editions. Limited Time. Yes, I understand that not everyone is going to feel the same, it just kinda baffles me as to what actual harm could it possibly bring? Why does it matter?
The Legacy thing actually has more value than I would say Lighting's Event does. But this is just a personal opinion because value is subjective. But I'm sure everyone can agree it's just people wanting their items to be Rare and that no one else can get them. Once they become available, people adapt and just shrug it off and move on because in reality, it's not that important.
You just answered your own question. Value is subjective. That's why the some people who have already experienced the event(3 friggin' times) may not want to bring it back.
You also can't just say that once it becomes available, people will just adapt and move on. That's not how it works, maybe not for the lightning event, but especially not for the legacy status.
Right. But no one is telling these people to participate in these events. Bringing back the event was in reference to those who have not experienced it. There's no real reason for them to say No save Value of their items. If they brought it again, people that participated will probably, at most, roll their eyes and continue on their merry way.
Really? I can't? Isn't that what we do in the end? Adapt to the situations given to us and make the best of it or overcome the trials presented before us? The difference is that some people adapt faster than others. Would anyone outright quit this game if Legacy status was given to everyone? More than likely not. Will they feel upset? More than likely, yes. Are they going to forget about eventually? Yes until something brings it up. Depending on the person, they may just shrug it off or harbor a grudge. I can't speak for everyone. There's very little in this game where the value doesn't deteriorate over time.
The point I wanted to make is that everyone is going to forget about it in the long run because there's more pressing matters at hand.
i don't think they will bring it back. with the event we got the hairstyle, clothing and WEAPONS. but there is no weapon for ninja, dark knight, astro and machinist. so square have to make them or these classes come to the forum and create topics like: "Where is my weapon?! thanks SE" ... or something like that c.c,,
if square bring the event back - again - they only can lose. and next month after the event there is a new topic from a begger who missed the event...
All you 'old timers' who were playing this game back when those events happened could just, y'know, NOT participate this time? I heard the FATEs were really cool and I, for one, would love to own Snow's outfit and get a few of those weapons for glamours. [as well as some cool screenies of Lightning in action]
And you overestimate people. That is exactly what some of them might NOT do. I'm not dismissing the people that will quit. That's why my answers left room for possibility and not answered with 100% Yes or No. People are playing the game because a number of reasons, however, I HIGHLY DOUBT it's because of their Legacy Status(unless the pay less a month makes it easier, then there's that).
SE's reputation and promises are irrelevant to this topic as this is going to tread into a different topic completely.
