Healer LB animation lock.

I request a fix.
You either.

A. Let the healer friggin' move right after the animation and not stand for an additional 5 seconds so I can die.
B. After people raise, have a 3 second 'hallowed ground' so to speak, to get back in position.
C. Let healer be immune during healer LB.

Or do all.

Why? Did A4 normal, used healer LB, looked cool, died in an instant and did everyone else. It's annoying.

I would honestly take the animation lock if it just didn't give everyone weakness/brink of death.

I agree. The only times I've ever needed to use it were in situations that were already so chaotic that I just end up dead anyway cause of said lock. It seems kinda counterproductive as it is now.

It is all about timing. Find the right moment where is safe and do it. Same thing happens with DD LB's, if they start casting when a mechanic will pop they will die and not do damage and waste the LB bar for nothing, so yeah...

The Healer is not a special snowflake everyone has to deal with an animation lock. It's all about strat and finding your opening. I know it's not easy with a bunch of people in chat typing "LB3 HEALER WTF ARE YOU DOING!?!?!?!?" But ignore it and find that opening before you go for broke. The Healer LB3 is a last ditch move but yeah it would be nice if people res without a debuff on them because it's easy for people to insta die. Maybe even change it to people res with a 1 minute "blessing" buff that greatly increases stats to make it more effective as that last chance LB.

Healer LB has 3 major flaws

1 - It doesn't restore caster MP. Everytime i was forced to cast LB3, id find myself completely drained after trying to keep everyone alive as much as possible.

2 - Thanks to aggro and animation lock, i'll most likely die if i cast LB3. And even if i don't die, party won't last long due the simple reason i have no mp for trying to keep everyone up till the very last second. It doesn't help either that the raise animation ends somewhat at the same time that the iframe of LB cast animation, so by the time tanks get up and try to get aggro off me, i'll be already getting cleaved for days.

3 - To add up for me being without mp (and most likely the other healer as well if he's not dead), everyone else gets up without protect and 15% weaker than to what they died to so it's only a matter of a aoe or 2 for everyone to die once again.

I understand that SE doesn't want us to spam healer LB to clutch our way through fights, but the LB3 is ridiculously rng based with the success rate usually below 10%. I don't even care about iframes for the whole party, just increasing the caster iframe duration compared to the party, removing the weakness debuff being raised by the LB and restoring everyone MP/TP meters to full would be enough to make it somewhat viable and not almost certainly make the party wipe once more like the way it is now.

Long time after using LB3 time by time i actually thought that LB3 for healer was "ress all, and suicide yourself for that", until one time i was magically alive after casting it.

It still is however game changing in certain places, A4 particularly being the example where it can change everything.

Also as someone said about "timing LB3", you can't really "time" it as majority of people are dead and both tanks usually too when you have to cast it, so most aggro is towards you anyway

Sure you can. You can time the LB so that you won't get hit in the face by any telegraphed mechanics (AoEs etc, such as Rav EX in then out circles).

I think Akyio means that you don't really have the time to wait in some situations. If most/all of your party is dead and especially if aggro is on you, you cannot take the time to run around and find a safe place.

If everyone but you is dead then a healer LB3 ain't gonna save you :P

I think that's kind of the point; People want it to be able to regain momentum for the party.

Personally, I disagree. I think it would be too OP if it acted like a legitimate second chance. I think it functions well, in the sense that it can save a party if everyone plays perfectly in some cases. Besides, having to use Healer LB3 is a red flag from the start anyway.

In that situation you probably won't get it off anyway before you are dead. A Healer with boss aggro will die almost instantly. You want to be using it before everyone else has died when you see there is no way to recover the damage done through normal means. Tank and one DPS alive plus you with low mana for example. Even if you get the other Healer or a SMN up you will struggle to keep anyone else alive and res plus the time it takes will eat away at the time you have before enrage so pop the LB3 then protect when people are up.

It seems that everyone in this thread somewhat agree that the current LB3 is either so weak, or so situational, as to be currently useless. The answer seems to be to buff the LB3 to be closer to the PVP raise ability or to completely scrap it altogether and introduce something new and more useful.

If you want to look at it this way - it is seldom used by anyone because the rest of the team usually keeps limit breaks for other types (eg caster). Surely the best way to balance the jobs would be to introduce a limit break that could be of more use in more situations.

It really is. SE loves doing DPS LBs, and that's fine, but for tanks and healers it's pretty much an afterthought, so much so that it's just not a thing we even get to touch unless everyone else is dead in the healer's case or it's mandated by the fight for the tank.

Maybe they should redo healer LB's to give some method to cheese a mechanic on a difficult encounter or 3 seconds of invulnerability.

Thinking about it, there's no reason why the Healer limit break 3 isn't a damage one. Everyone else gets to do damage so why can't healers call upon the Elementals (for WHM), the Nymian Marines (for SCH) and whatever the Astrologians encounter in their storyline to come and defend them by doing damage whilst healing up only those team members still alive.

That way it would be more useful in non-wipe situations but not be overpowered. It would also stay well within existing lore.

I wouldn't really want a damage LB I'm happy having a second chance card to play if things go south It's just depressing when you manage to get everyone up just for them to die 5 seconds later because they are so weak one hit is almost all their HP. The Healer role is all about saving people when a lot of damage is going out and keeping them in the fight so the LB should be by role they just need to rethink and tweak it a bit. Not that I expect it any time soon since they are so obsessed with making pretty DPS LB's.

That's the problem though, it's currently useless and it's very, very, very unlikely they'll make it useful because too many people would complain it's overpowered. I'm a SCH and I'd dearly love a decent healing LB3 but it just isn't going to happen where we get raise, HP & MP restore (even if just 15%) & the essential invulnerability (to counteract the animation lock). That's what we'd need to make the current version useful.

well, there ARE uses for it (no thats not me, just a video i once found)

but yeah, some days ago had a bad group in A1, almost wiped on a rocket fail, the other healer raized me instead of LB3 for some reason, i went LB3..... and got laser in my face from both bosses while in the animation lock afterward, rip me >_< (we wiped soon after anyway)
this animationlock could at least be a bit shorter, its stupid to jut stand there for like 10 seconds

I've always found the healer LB's to be lackluster in general. Back when bards had the healing LB, I used to try to raise my bard so he could pop the LB3 for me instead, simply because I wouldn't get any MP otherwise. Something is wrong if your ideal situation is getting a DPS to pop the healing LB.

Also, I've only found LB1/LB2 useful a total of twice over my entire time playing this game. They are just lackluster for how big of a resource cost goes into using them. Especially LB1 - a 33% party heal is not really much better than a medica.

Here's sorta what I'd like to see:

LB1: Restores 100% HP to the entire party including the caster. No MP restored

LB2: Restores 100% HP and 50% MP to the entire party including the caster.

LB3: Restores 100% HP and MP to the entire party including the caster. Additional effects: Raise.


Maybe this is too powerful, but it's my thoughts at least. I don't think a 100% heal is overpowered considering that you sacrifice using the DPS LB to use it.

I also Agree, Limit break should add immunity to nullify any damage to the initiator until LB action is done. I love the Healer’s LB3 animation.

This so much. Every time I've used it (which thankfully has only been a small amount of times..3? 4?) I have died while in animation lock. Big aoe goes out, under my feet or whatever and I just stand there like "oooo look at all the pretty ligh-" dead. >.< May as well change it so it just sacrifices the healer since it seems like that's the desired effect lol
