You beat A4 Savage?
Okay.
So...I'm making dinner. Anyone want some?
I've started doing pvp, seize rock is fun, and a different way to farm. Also got around to leveling DOL and I hated it at lower levels, but now it actually gets you money. There are a lot of things to do if you look for them.
Take a break once in a while from FF14 to prevent yourself from burning out.
Try other games for a bit then come back to the game.
Switching between different games rather than playing only 1 games helps prevent any burning out from playing the same game too much.
With having everything done before 3.0 launched I have a ton do now and cannot believe that you are actually bored. Do you only play one job and that is it...do you also not craft or gather??
So far I have got my main (BARD) leveled and geared along with Scholar/Summoner and geared and now almost have my warrior to 60 and then I will be gearing that. There is so much to do unless you don't do everything. Branch out a little bit and you will have more fun.
Anyone can be bored. Things in the game that don't interest a person will interest another. It will vary from person to person.
I have lots of things I can do. Savage... nope... never. Grinding for Law and eventually Eso? Not happening. These are boring to me especially now. Crafting and Gathering. Certainly things I have been doing... but that grind has worn me out. Leveling other classes... oh yes more grinding and thus not happening.
So as you can see at this state all the things people will find fun, at the moment I do not. So the same will certainly be true of the OP.
Only Some things
I won't say troll (becuase you might not be trying to be one,) but there are definitely other things you can do.
You could:
* Level your other classes - Looking at your profile you could work on cross class skills - all your casters will benefit from Swiftcast at THM34. I'm impressed you took ALC to 52 without any crossclass crafter skills!
* Play something else to take a break - I should do this...but Witcher 3 loads too long without an SSD.
* Take a real-life break and do other things - I've been watching sport, making food for work for the week, and am just about to go to the gym. I remember in 1.0, everytime you logged in, a message would pop up saying:
http://static.gamesradar.com/images/...icle_image.jpg
So, if you need to...just take a break. You will thank yourself.

Really done all things??
It definitely doesn't help that there are 2 expert dungeons, and 1 of them is crap. That really saps my motivation to try to cap every week (I have yet to do so).
I'm bored too, not because of the game but because of this dull community. =T I swear no one on my server has heard of a meme.
>_> What also helps is when a game actually has variety in stuff to do, rather than "get on, cap tomes, get alex loot, log off".
MMOs used to have plenty to do to keep you busy, forever, without getting burnt out or taking 2-3 month long breaks. Now they've turned into Facebook/mobile games where you can only do so much before you have to wait a week.
Just wait till 3.1 when they add new bigger golden saucer with LOADS of interactive fun :)
Like any of us could do anything about your twelvedamned boredom.
Unsubscribe then, save some money and then come back when you're bored with life.
I must admit, it's getting a bit monotonous every week.
Log on
Raid
Do daily roulettes
Log off after standing around doing nothing for several hours
And that's just tuesday.
The rest of the week is
Log on
Roulettes
Log off after standing around doing nothing for several hours.
I'd go back to the golden saucer, but there's nothing i want there, really. I'd do dailies if i ever felt like it.
3.1 is soon, isn't it?
I only play tank for end game and banging my head on the floor puging stuff is frustrating. Crafting lol no too much storage space needed not to mention having to get your own mats can't we have leves with reduced exp gain if we don't want to get our own mats. Gathering?
Just spending about 20 30 minutes waiting for the high level stuff to spawn and the scrip gatheringfor fishing its RNG that's understandable but to not tell us where these fish are so we can gather them? Also since fishing is RNG the end game fishing in 2.xx needed less to get their gear why is it the same amount needed for miner and botanist. RNG for fisher is fine but when they need the same amount of scrips for their tools and gear of lets not forget they don't have an off hand tool so they need to meld more.
But main reason I'm board well I wouldn't use the word board since if I was board I wouldn't log in till latter when I'm about to do something. Its that there's nothing out of duty finder for battle classes to do (no hunts don't count so boring I'd rather get a cavity filled than spend 30 minutes looking for NM unless its my weekly.) I mainly blame the fact that crafting and gathering are actually classes so they need to make sure there's stuff for every one to do so saddly naturally there's never enough if you only want to focus on one kind of play style because everything has to be spread out evenly.
In the pre-access people finished the main quest in less than 24 hours ...
I wouldn't use the word board either, mostly because if you were board you'd be this:

This is why I have a small army of games to play. Don't "get bored" but to keep myself from burning out, I finished the 2.x stuff, and took a break till a yesterday.
You should do the same op.
Plenty of games to jump between
The games I play range from
Ffxiv
Eve online
Csgo
Minecraft
Ark survival evolved
Diablo 3
Rocket league
Pso2
And I think I have 2 or 3 others I can't remember off the top of my head.
I literally play 3 or 4 at a time. And just rotate out as I start to have a "bord" feeling so I don't overdo it.
Because MGP totally has a lot of things that actually do something for you >_>
Going to say it again, but a lot of people need to see this. Achievements/MGP =/= Content
People really need to stop trying to justify achievements and golden saucer as "plenty of things to do" because they can't think of anything else besides the small amount of content we have.
I'm sorry if this is your first MMO, but for a lot of us, it's not. Quite a lot of people have been playing mmos for over a decade, so for us, achievements and vanity are not content, and you too, after years of playing mmos like we have, will see that too.
If you could get tomes and what not from doing Golden Saucer, I'm sure a lot more people would do it, since there'd now be a little more variety in how to go about getting things, rather than 2 dungeons and 4 bosses.
And let me just say it again, because I know someone will try to use the excuse later on but...
If your only reply is "you don't have all achievements" or "is your MGP capped?" for there being "a lot of content", then even you too, deep down, know there's not much content when the only thing you can refer to is stuff that has no effect on the game whatsoever. All you're doing is protecting a bad game design (yes, it makes money, but a lot of us are bored of the stale formula used since 2.0) and lowering the chances of something fun and interesting that will give us more of a reason to play every month, from being added.
An MMO is NOT a psycho-girlfriend. It won't snap and go crazy because you logged off and played another game.
So enjoy your freedom. Pick up another hobby, learn a new language, go and play some old-school games. It'll be here when you get back.
The days of having to adapt a No-Life playing method for MMO's are over. There is nothing wrong with not playing this game for a few hours.
I find it rather interesting that people who are not bored tell folks that ARE bored of the game to do things they find boring.
Okay listen, some people find no fun in gathering, crafting & farming the mats required for them... And also not everyone like vanity gear or playing silly mini games at the golden saucer.. Lastly some people dont like leveling multiple jobs for the sake of "leveling a new job" ..
"Did you beat A4?" some people dont have time to join hardcore FC's that require you to dedicate 20-30 hours a week for raiding.. so no?
I agree with the original poster, 14 is boring. I've actually played since 1.x and 2.0...
As of last week i was bored to the point i cancelled my autopay, in a month my sub will be up and i doubt ill come back.
I was sarcastically pointing out how narrow your play focus is by asking whether you capped your MGP since capping MGP would be one hell of a grind (maxint MGP....), but would represent a similarly limited scope of game play.
This isn't my first MMORPG, perhaps you think I am naive because I'm not bored?
Here is what I am hearing from you and posters with a similar point of view;
"This game doesn't give me enough content that specifically matches my narrow need so it's boring."
This game has a ridiculous amount of content if you look at the game as a whole. It caters to a very wide audience of many skill levels and goals. The developers have to balance what they create to cover all the different areas of the game. If more was put into the specific content you want to see, less would go elsewhere, and someone else would be annoyed. So they try to strike a balance. The fact is, in a big game such a this with a broad audience as FFXIV has, it's not really possible for the developers to keep up with your need for additional hardcore content over and above everything else. For players with a broader view of the content, there is literally so much to do, it is sometimes difficult to know where to start.
I understand that from your point of view the content is relatively limited because you play a specific subset of the game. Short of this becoming a hardcore only game, that's unlikely to change.
There are indeed things for you to do, you need not be bored. However, you just don't want to do them, which is fine, and your own decision. You know that FFXIV is not a hardcore game already, anyone coming to it will know it's not hardcore if they do even minimal research. IMHO, it's unrealistic to expect something other than what we have, and somewhat pointless to post about being bored.
SonTensei, it sounds to me like you already didn't much like in the game, and that's even before the rather off views of content. And more people are actually saying to play something else for a while instead of force feeding what 14 has to offer. But we see what we want to see, I guess.
I consider myself a pretty hardcore raider. But I only give it 3 hours a week, 1 across 3 days. And my FC is rather casual except for the 8 of us that WANT to raid.
If there's nothing that you find even remotely enjoyable, then you did the right thing cancelling your sub. I would ask why it took you this long, but it's a moot point.
This again op should post a one of the hundreds of I'm bored threads instead of making a new one.
You have one job at 60, and no DoL/DoH.
Level brd/mch/ast/blm to 60 so you can bitch about how they are too hard and/or weak at 60. Level your gatherers/crafters so you can bitch about how much of a grind red scrips are.
@OP Perhaps use party finder and make a party for;
(full thrust) (rear area of effect attack) (internal release) (Do you need it?)
Might help with your (bored)
Git gud, find a FC of gud players, talk shit about bad players in TS. You'll never be bored again.
This is why we never get attention from dev...
Hey Op know what I did when I was bored with the game? I logged off took a couple month break. I didn't come here to bitch and moan.
the boredom comes, mostly, from people that play so to speak 24h/24H a day and concentrate their efforts only on one particular aspect of the game without enlarging the Spectrum, not even playing the whole content just enlarging it. Obviously, after a short while, it gets boring. Alternating what you do, helps keeping the motivation going. Now if you dont like 95% of the content and only keep it to the 5 % you will get bored fast. If you are at this stage, maybe you should change game, as visibly the proportion of enjoyable content vs not enjoyable to you is wayy out of proportion.
I dont know how people can get bored...ohh wait they all rush rush rush and then..poof nothing left to do in their eyes..
