Anyone else having trouble joining a company?

Some of our members have been able to get the quests, others can't join any of the 3. We thought maybe we had to complete all the possible company quests, including toto-rak and DH, but still can't join. Bug? Or anyone know the pre-reqs?

It won't let me initate the quest for Gridania - Their Finest Hour.

I never did any of the Limsa Lominsa grand company quests; could this be why?

Same. I can't get the first gridania GC quest. I did all 4 of the previous quests but i never did any for the others.

I'm going to accept the first Maelstrom quest they offer and hope this remedies it.

I'm having this exact same problem at the Twin Adders.

I haven't completed "Engineering Victory" with LL, but I am a recruit in all city-states.

I can accept the missions in Uldah and Grid but I wanted Limsa and he tells me to go "Spy" on the other cities. Don't know how to get to joing Limsa, I even went to talk to all the NPC's in the other companies.

I'm speculating all atleast until darkhold and toto rak, thats what im lgoing for atm, will keep you informed.

You'd be wrong, I have yet to do Darkhold and I can get quests in Uldah and Grid but not Limsa.

Same here, i'm guessing you have to do all the quests before being able to decide what one to pledge to.

Wasn't there a dev comment the other day in the jp to english forum which spoke about need to do most of the quests except the dungeon ones.

I'm a recruit in all GC's, just completed the new Gridania quest, "Their Finest Hour", and it's telling me to go to the other GC's, so maybe you have to do all the initial new quests, then return to the one you want? Makes no sense to me.

You need to do the second quest for all companies to be able to hear the intro speech for your company. (Engineering Victory, Their Finest Hour, and Burning Man)

you're making it seem like those quests are even hard to begin with. They're all very basic quests

Hey. I know I don't want to be sided with Forestry fuckwits. Making me crawl through their shitty maze to do some uninteresting quests is not good game design.

Walking from Ul'dah to the ferry is way worse than roaming them forests imo

The Prequests are easy. If anything we need things to be harder. Flame unconstructively elsewhere plzx.

To start the new ones, Burning man and equivelants you need to do the ones where you kill the waves of imperials btw

Hey. Easy and boring are different things. Just because it's easy does not mean I like trotting through the forest talking to npcs back and forth.

My understanding is you need to have all the pre-quests for all GC. This is excluding darkhold and Toto-rak

This confuses me, The Ul'dah one just asked me if I wanted to be a recruit after doing the first quest, but it still wont let me pledge to Gridania's one.

You need to complete all the speech quests before joining a GC

All 3 Grand Companies have a speech Quest.

You Must complete all 3.

Then you can speak to the Officer at the grand company to join.

This is correct. I had to go back and do a quest for the Maelstrom as a recruit in order to join a company.

Also, it is kind of bullshitty that you have to do a quest as a recruit for each company before you can permanently join one. It wasn't a big deal for me since I only had to go back and do one - but still. I saw a LOT of people getting very frustrated (including people in my own LS) because they didn't know why it wasn't letting them take the speech quests.

I only read the OP so if this has been said, my bad. You need to complete all of the missions asside from the dungeon missions for all three companies. I had the same issue last night but I just visited all three cities and did all of the quests I could other than the dungeon quests, then I could start the new company quests.
