There, now its useful and fits into my rotation. Thank you.
I second this! This would make it actually useful to use it, especially in Enochian.
Agreed. While getting used to the adjusted Enochian rotation, there have been a few times where I almost had it fall off (actually did fall off towards the end of B4) due to using a TC proc.
This AGAIN goes back to one of the underlying problems and requested adjustments to the current BLM Enochian rotations: Increase the duration of AF and UI to 12 seconds!
They'd have to revert the Thundercloud changes and probably nerf some other potencies if they did this, since it would be an extremely hefty DPS increase as it is, and would have been even before the Thunder buffs. I'm never in favor of changes that produce big DPS buffs to classes that don't need DPS buffs, so I don't think this has any chance of happening.
It has a place in the rotation already
Especially with the Enochain fix. Worst case realistic scenario is using the proc causes you to cast 2 F1s instead of F4s. The issue is BLMs thinking they have to do four F4s in every AF phase. The ones I see doing this in Alexander PUGs are the ones that do less damage than the offtank.
It has already been OP since 3.0 as an opener: Snapchat > Thunder one mob > Thunercloud III different mob
It would be need to be nerfed to be off GCD.
I really despise the buff to the thunder line. It added yet another layer of complexity to what was already the most tricky DPS class.
The only good thing I can say about it is that, when you pop one of those thunderclouds that should have left you time for a blizzard IV (but then you get hosed out of it by RNG) - well, at least your DPS won't be quite as pitiful while you wait for Enochian's CD.
Instead of band aiding thunder i would prefer they actually fix the rotation so it isn't a clunky not fun to play disaster that makes you want to put your head through a wall every time you get targeted with orange poop puddles or sucked into a pipe to kill a trash mob with a tank.
I'd also appreciate it if losing enochain didn't reduce my maximum potential DPS by about 30% for 30 seconds which seems significantly higher than all the other DPS jobs have to deal with.
After savage A1 last night I'm throwing in the towel and just rolling SMN for savage Alex like a lot of other BLMs are. The issues I see with BLM are much deeper than just fixing with a simple potency increase that is tied to either a forced use of sharp cast or a low percent proc chance plus having to check for dot clipping while maintains your situational awareness of two timers.
It's not so bad.. at least our GCD isn't 2.47 secs or longer.
Lately it feels like SS scales worse for the GCD.
Our FC's BLM in mostly 190 w/ SS on a good 75% of their pieces has an F4 cast time of 2.88s, thats 96% of the original GCD (2.4s). It seems like unless we explicitly stack all the SS we can, we wont get past 94%, so the idea of stacking enough SS to make the Enochian rotation more forgiving is likely dead in the water.
Again, the answer is not yet another potency buff to make TC SOOOO appealing that it is worth messing up the rotation. The answer is to adjust either the duration of the buffs, or the cast times of the spells.
If we increase the duration of AF and UI by ~2s, we will not have enough time (or mana) to throw in an extra F4 into the rotation, but we will not be refreshing the buffs AS they fall off... unless we move and break a cast at which point we lose the buff.
Or we can reduce the cast time of F4 and B4 to 2.5s... hell personally I would LOVE to see F4 and B4 have a 2.0s cast time, to add a bit of mobility. Do not reduce any potencies, but perhaps... perhaps increase the mana cost of F4 such that you cannot fit 5 F4's into the rotation... which iirc is already the case unless you use Convert.
W/ F4 being a 2.0-2.5s cast, with a 2.5s GCD, we would still want to do 2 F4's before refreshing AF w/ F1 in order to ensure that we have some wiggle room to break a cast or move.
If we have an FS proc, we could fit as many as 4 F4's (maybe) before FS wears off, but thats where the mana restrictions come in, preventing more than 4 F4's per Fire Cycle.
Maybe if thundercloud just gave you a GCD's worth (lets say 2 seconds on the short side) bonus to enochian.
blm is already stupid strong, no thanks xc
I don't see where making Thundercloud procs, not the actual spells, an OGCD would make BLM too OP. Every other class has an OGCD attack of some kind that they can weave into their rotation. I mean, you'd still have to cast a thunder spell at least once every rotation. Maybe change it at 60 so that Thundercloud only procs from using Thunder 3 instead of 1 or 2.
Not that any of our ideas will ever get taken seriously since SE has decided that BLM's need to go away for whatever stupid reason( at least that's what it feels like to me).
no increase them to 20 seconds to allow for the non stop aoe movements and then blm may MAYYY be in a decent spot, the changes they just made are a good start but nowhere near wht is needed to play effectively with the amount of movement ALWAYS required by players not to mention the countless times bosses become untargettable for long periods etc.
cast time of fire 4 and blizz 4 are painfully slow as well...sadly thats not realistic in boss fights that aoes pop every 2 seconds. (which is 99% of them)
Everything we do feels like slow flowing molassas...just so not enjoyable
blm still need work asap, i feel for anyone still playing them atm.
agree with op suggestion as well.
