A simple plea: Add the The Aetherochemical Research Facility to the EX Roulette.

With the addition of the new gear, a little extra variety in the way we earn our Esoteric tomestones can go a long way when we're faced with the long wait to 3.1. Hints seem to point that we'll be doing this for the next 3-4 months at the very least, as the dev team needs a good break.

As it stands right now, our current endgame has us running only 2 dungeons (Neverreap and Fractal) through our EX roulette, which currently makes it a relatively efficient means of gathering Esoterics in a single event once a day. Just those two dungeons alone will get old, and fast. Like, Brayflox HM old.

The Aetherochemical Research Facility is, in my opinion, a very well designed (read: beautiful) and fun dungeon that is so underplayed due to lack of common roulette use. Don't even need to add gear to the drops, maybe just a bit of extra Law Tomes to balance out the rewards?

I agree Facility is a lvl 60 run so idk why its not part of the runs:p

They want to avoid the whole "skip cutscene" people make in the dungeons so they didn't put it in Expert this is only an assumption though but I believe I am most likely right.

I was thinking because its an easier run. It also doesnt naturally award Eso tomes if run outside of roulette unlike the other two. If it was added and I ended up in it I'd feel cheated of the extra tomes I'd have if it were the other two.

I understand people might wanna skip the CS's... but if they're not gonna give us a third (brand new) dungeon to run, please at least give us the opportunity of having 3 diff chances of dungeons. Neverreap and Fractal ARE gonna get really old really fast :/ The three EX dungeons before 3.0 kept things are least moderately interesting (even when I got AK HM like 5 days in a row... xD)

Easy. Add Eso tomes to the dungeon normally.

I do think there'd definitely need to be an adjustment in rewards (Eso Tomes added to each boss, and a small bonus) to bring it alongside the others. Hell, add in the dungeon drops from the other two EX dungeons to keep up with gearing new characters coming through, even. I can't imagine making adjustments such as those would be too difficult to balance in.

It just seems such a waste of a pretty fantastic dungeon design and opportunity to add variety to the main roulette we'll want to run daily, especially for those of us relatively short on time to run multiple roulettes!

As far as cutscenes are concerned, I didn't find them to be all that bad in this dungeon.

I think the main issue is that it's set below the difficulty level of the other two dungeons. A far more fitting solution would be to slot it into the MSQ roulette.

I want to see gubal library in the EX roulette. Place is crazy sexy and awesome. Even though everything about it classifies it under leveling roulette. Still though!

Have you gone back and done it at i180+? The place is faceroll once you have actual gear on. The only reason it took so long the first time through is all of us were just barely scraping by on item level. I know more than one person that had to hit up the vendor in Azys Lla for some knockoff soldiery gear just to be able to enter the instance.

I'd love to see this dungeon in the EX roulette, it's fantastically designed and has fun bosses.

It has the best dungeon music too.

I hope they make a hard mode version of both all allagan dungeons.

I think there would be some issues with putting it in an EX roulette. It would have been kind of like putting CM in the EX roulette. The conflict of new player who want to watch and experience the dungeon and the players who just want to rush through will be even worse than what happens on the MS roulette. Plus the addition of bosses dropping tomestones would turn it into a speed running tomestone farm particularly for lower geared players. I can see it adding a lot of conflict and tension.

To be honest though 3.1 probably isn't that far away. We will be getting a preview of it in August and likely have it coming out the month after. That only 2 months.

Could always use separate matchmaking.

I foresee BIG problems in a month or so, since there will not be enough people running it, and players will get stuck in the story.

People are already having problems getting into it, one of my FC-members sat 1½ hours in queue to get in as DPS.

Yeah I agree, it's going to be ignored by the most players. I would like to run it in some roulette because it's my favourite in the expansion. Main Scenario roulette would be perfect since they don't give any loot. You can't queue in a premade party anyway so I don't think the party size difference matters. Maybe they should've made it an 8 man and just added it to MS roulette at launch.

Would be better for them to just add it to the expert roulette for the moment. As it stands the cutscenes are a nonissue theres only 1 before the boss fight and it isnt even very long.

This is another factor I honestly didn't even take into account when I created this thread, and an incredibly good point. I wouldn't be surprised if queue times to run this extend quite high even for the adventurers in need (Healers, Tanks). As mentioned just above, the cutscene would mostly remain a non-issue, as there's only the one, and it's relatively short. The law bonus for first time clear given to the party should be enough to shut up all but the most time starved "hardcore" player.

There's only 3 cs that auto play them selves 2 of which are at the last boss and you don't do that one 2 or 3 maned I'm sorry I ment 4 cs I don't count the one after the boss dies as a thing in this.

Also I hope they just add to the existing expert roulette we only have 2 but even with just 3 it gets boaring fast.

The music there is my favorite. It seems like such a waste that there's no practical reason for me to visit it again. Also, what happens to stragglers who need the place cleared but can never find members through the DF?

They might possibly end up adding it to Main Scenario roulette or some other roulette in 3.1 or when they see the amount of people needing it drop off. Trial Roulette still pops Steps of Faith, Chrysalis, Ravana, and Bismarck so there are still people leveling.

Wouldn't surprise me if the new relic quest made us do all the HW leveling dungeons and trials again.

The music, as well as the other Allegan dungeon Fractal, is some of the best I've head in the game, definitely.
Currently the only real benefit of running this again is an extra few Law compared to the others.

add the i160 loot, put Esos on the last boss and add it to Expert.

Why put such high level gear there when the connecting final trial doesn't even require it? Not even the final runs in 2.0 had loot.

the Library drops 148 gear which is practically 150, how is 160 on the next dungeon such high level?

it's a 4 man dungeon with multiple bosses, like all the other 4 man dungeons with multiple bosses. which other one doesn't have any loot?

Yeah, but I guarantee you that pretty much every first-timer would get locked out of the final boss, which is the penultimate boss of the entire expansion. ARF is way better than Praetorium about not having a bunch of long cutscenes throughout, but there is one right before the boss, and another before the second phase.

As nice as it'd be to have a third Expert dungeon, main story dungeons and speedruns don't mix. Let's not open that can of worms again.

i don't doubt it will happen but the benefit of 4 man content is, unless the other 3 are very well geared, they're going to waste more time trying to trio the last boss than to just wait for the 4th person to do the CS.

and if you get two new people forget it.

Hate to say it, but the solution to this is to keep everyone in the "waiting circle" you get at dungeon start for about one minute, to give people enough time to view the CS. If they're courteous and skip it via the escape key, the circle disappears early, but if they want to watch their cutscene, it stays there until that minute has passed.

Is ARF in Story Roulette? Seems like that's where it should be.

People keep mentioning the cutscenes as if this is Castrum and Praetorium. There arent many cutscenes and they are not very long at all

I'd personally be fine with this solution (assuming you mean that waiting circles appear whenever someone in the group is watching a cutscene), but I can only assume that it's never going to happen, or they would've implemented it by now.

Saw this happening when i was farming law , tanks just leave because they don't have long queue times so it's better leave and try again

Not really. If you leave you get a 30 min penalty. So no, it isnt better

If they'd put a 50% for getting this in the roulette and another 50% bonus on tomes for having a new player I think.

Before 3.05, I use to manually just queue for this and the other two lvl 60 duties in my own "roulette". Actually use to enjoy getting it since there was always at least 1 new person, so I'd end up getting more law than the other two typically.

So here's a little something I just was reminded about a bit ago:

Keeper of the Lake was quite literally a Main Story Dungeon! Adding ARF seems even more plausible now. Wanna shorten it to an average 20 minute run? Remove some of the trash packs.
