The amount of MP CON has access to is likely to skyrocket with the new class adjustments. Check out the video of the Ifrit fight and you'll see some pretty high MP levels.
they nerfed you damage spells hella bad too, increased timer and all share one timer.omg
Well, at least now you can rank up PGL for refresh (?!). Featherfoot will make you recover MP over time.
But yep, this patch does sounds really bad...nearly as bad as 1.18...luckly in 1.20 they might add the rest command so you can rest MP during battle..."becasuse its like this in FFXI".
time to learn basic resource management skills
changes are good, and in the EXACT right direction that the game needs to be taken in order to inject some enjoyable challenge into the game.
Stop crying. Roll with times.
My gf is a con and she never run out of MP and she sleep, cure, buff, and sometime even nuke for BR so i don't know what your issue maybe learn how to take care of your mp more?
and also just for the hell of it Conj is a class which = solo once the jobs system come out WHM would = party and whm most would unlock spell to get mp back that would help also BLM with buff and so on.
There are plenty of fantastic conjurers out there. What Square did was simply make it so you couldn't run in the middle of a battle and spam Curaga III giving the game no strategic elements at all.
You need to keep your MP up somehow, and there are ways to. You need to hold off from getting hate, and if you do get hate, don't fucking act like a retard and run away; preventing the tank or anyone else from pulling aggro. You need to realize when the best time to use Cure or Curaga is, etc.
Conjurer is one of the hardest classes in the game, simply because you are the lifeline. As is the healer in all MMOs, they just made it more strategic in a sense. What Square is basically trying to get you to do is to adapt to various situations.
I agree with what you just said Ruisu^^.... Basically it's called MP Conservation...You need to disengage active mode your staff or wand once a while just to regenerate MP...Food sometimes helps in faster MP regeneration I usually stack these. And you really don't have to use your most powerful spells if you can manage use level 1 spells they take only a few MP...Only use the powerful ones under extreme circumstances and I mean EXTREME^^ And if you can also manage do not touch "Tranquility"... again only under extreme circumstances make this your backup MP pool... But if you are conserving MP to begin with then there is no reason to engage "Tranquility" ^^
My wife plays a Con, and she's psyched for the changes, she's looking forward to the job actually taking some skill to play. Resource management, baby. Time you learned it.
Rhix,
If a girl CNJ can do it, so can you!
I think it's absolutely hilarious you guys think I don't know how to play conjurer, or manage MP. I manage my MP just fine, can adapt to situations, deal damage and STILL be the lifeline for a party.
My point is it's not fun to do anymore.
then one of the various easy-mode MMOs is for you rather than this game
This coming from who? Someone who probably got into the whole FF MMO scene after abyssea slapped FFXI in the face with it's Perma-beginner mode?
Stop white knighting this game. We all know full well what that will lead to. In the mean time I'll enjoy watching your "6" posts grow to some half-assed insult collection aimed at my direction or talking about how absolutely perfect this game is despite everything that remains. Don't even consider thinking that you're being clever with that comment.
After I waited so long, anticipating this game only to be presented with a pile of crap from the SAME people who had experience from FFXI (Still not sure how that happened) I'm not going to sit idly by while it evolves from something that sucks into something that turns out great but one (some?) of the classes are absolutely crap to play. May I direct your attention to WHM and BLM when TaU came out?
Luckily however, I didn't come to this forum to argue with you, so consider this the last time I address you and anyone who thought they were being absolutely badass with their comments despite knowing nothing about how I play.
Devs, I'll be patiently awaiting an answer as to why the dev team are moving into this direction, and perhaps some insight as to what's in store for CNJ with regards to the issues I've outlined. I have a theory about WHM lowering all cure costs and increasing potency while lowering usefulness of offensive spells when the job system is released, but for now that remains a theory.
Its really obvious by the few hate threads there are that some people still don't understand what "incur" means. I mean the internet man, its available to you if you're on this forum right now, go to google and type this "define: incur" then read. /needforthisthread.
-sigh- I apologize, in my frustration earlier, I made that angry post. If you will, please disregard all of it. Hopefully, I can get you to understand my worry at what the class is turning into. I know how to manage my MP, I'm a long time FFXI veteran, I've played other MMOs and really want this one to work out.
I also enjoy Pugilist. That doesn't, however, change the fact that my favorite class was gutted once already and it looks like not much will improve too much.Quote:
Then play a different class and stop crying that CON doesn't play how you want it to.
The definition can be taken to mean both "OMG ITS ATTACKING ME" and "I am currently on its hate list :D"Quote:

I just read through the thread again and honestly you haven't really said what you're afraid the class is turning into aside from it being harder to manage MP which you claim to be perfectly capable of doing, to which the only valid response for us to give you is to either find an easier game to play or pick another class.
This is probably to do with Con being able to cast spells while not in passive mode. I am also upset by the x4 mp costs for cures. Think they should have been around x2. But if they increase the amount of mp con get the cure costs won't be that much of a problem. And possibly after stats are fixed siphon mp will siphon more than 100mp.
FFXIV's version of /heal is passive mode.Quote:

dev1151 Changes in HP/MP recovery
The following changes have been made to passive mode HP and MP recovery:
Players will not automatically recover HP and MP when incurring enmity.
HP and MP will automatically recover only while the player is stationary, regardless of whether or not he/she is engaged in battle. The amount of HP and MP recovered will increase based on the amount of time a player remains stationary.
The recovery amount will reset under the following conditions:
The player is attacked
The player moves or performs an action
i'm not too much a fan of the having to stand still to recover my health, i didn't know it destroyed game balance enough to change it. Not really wanting to go back to XI's style
Again...if they hated conjurer it wouldn't exist
