When will savage be cleared? Each individual turn.

Will it be similar to normal mode Alexander with just a few different mechanics and tighter DPS checks/heal checks/mitigation checks? Or will SE throw a curveball and screw us over with brand new mechanics that will take weeks to fully understand, maybe even brand new enemies?

It might be a mix of both but if i had to pick 1, id go with brand new so and so cuz honestly SE is screwed if they disappoint the " hardcore raid " community.
Casuals etc already got their story version so se has to really deliver or there will be a lot of unhappy ppl lol.

Well if they designed Alex EM the same way the did SCoB, then Alex savage will be the unnerfed version of the fights.
I imagine there will some added effects to mechanics, some instant kills, and some brand new mechanics.

I think a interesting mechanic for A1 would be if one of the boss's particle beam aoe hits the other boss, it will buff that boss.

I feel like all the alex fights will be a lot different... different mechanics in a1, bombs are almost auto death, cars more involved, more (stronger)/different mobs in a2, different phases in a3, a4 can have a ton of changes.

That being said, I give it 3-4 days before everything is cleared. a1/a2 should be beaten tomorrow, a3 might take a day or 2, a4 also a day or 2. I'm fairly confident the top groups will just rip through whatever dps checks there are. I've seen some of the parses around and healers doing 850-900+ dps? That's just going to blow any of the dps checks away.

I expect A2 to be really crazy - the gobwalkers have a bunch of skills that just aren't needed in Normal, so I'm curious if they end up being required in Savage.

I bet there will be a flame thread about Alex Savage within a week, of people complaining it's too hard, people in bleeding edge statics telling them to git gud, and 20+ pages of snubbing from both sides.

It will be cleared by some group before the end of this week, I bet.

I highly doubt that. If I remember correctly, SE test team couldn't beat SCoB savage. I doubt they could be equally hard content. Generally the top players are much better than the test teams.

A1: Patch Day
A2: Two Days After Patch
A3: Three Days After Patch (A few hours after they introduce the second part of the patch)
A4: Four days after patch

Because I think that A3 unavoidable damage might be enought for people with "low gear" to need pentamelded new crafting gear to have enought HP to survive.

But I don't think it will take too much time, because I have the feeling that with 3 weeks (2 before patch and one a few hours after) of Alexander normal (ilvl 190) plus 1 esoteric piece (ACC/Jewel) plus 180 equipment, plus 190 weapon, ilvl of hardcore players will be quite high. Around 190 I guess?

So it won't be like 2.0 when people had to start going in to the coil of Bahamut with ilvl around 70.


But of course I might be totally wrong :D


ANyway, I think that what prevents the top raiding guilds to advance is more gear checks than any other thing. Not with mechanics.

If savage is like Savage, it will take WAY longer that what you guys are expecting.

800-900 lol I do 1k+ with crit inching close to 3k and no I don't have maxed ilv I only at 176 let's just say I put my points in the right places

Even regular T5 Coil took quite a while to beat, and IIRC only one or two Raid Teams actually managed to clear it before the nerf/fix to tornadoes.

I feel like the Devs might just make Savage Alex truly Savage because its intended to be content for that 1% bleeding edge group.
With Coil, They tried to balance it in a way that people could clear it for Story while also trying to be difficult enough to keep hardcore Raiders happy.

I seriously hope they overtune Savage in the start, so that only the very best of the best can clear it. I think its perfectly fine to have content like that. Not only does it give the hardcore Raiders something to bash their heads against, it also gives normal people a height to strive to. We can't improve if we have nothing to struggle towards.

I wouldn't be surprised if Alex Savage had the same bosses as Alex Story, with new mechanics thrown in, just like the differences between Primals Ex and Primals Hard.

Dps means total damage per second throughout a whole fight, not damage dealt in one spell.

Remember ppl if something is broken in the raid devs wont fix till a high end raid group points it out etc.
Their true testers r the raid groups who reach and try those fights 1st.
