Soo... about WHM Tetragrammaton.

Whats the point of this skill? i mean yeah sure its instant cast. but aside from that its pretty much a cure II with a potency of 700 instead of 650. which isn't really much difference like at all. Heck! even cure II is stronger since tetra can't be buffed with Divine Seal..

I feel like it should be buffed. Either the potency to 800, Or 30sec cd , Or have a side effect.

Players complained about Scholars having so many more instant healing capacity than White Mages, Square-Enix simply caved into their demands

It's free and instant, allowing you to spike heal.

It doesn't have an MP cost. In longer fights MP management actually matters. Especially during progression.

The fact that it's instant cast already makes it better than Cure II. You can use it as an 'oh shit!' heals too...

I love this skill.

Think about it as you now have a guaranteed Lustrate ability from the scholar.

While Scholars are tethered every 60 seconds to having the OPTION of 0-3 lustrates you are guaranteed 1 that is not bound to any other abilities (Scholar by far cannot say the same).

It is far from worthless.

Instant 700 Potency cure for 0 MP on one minute cooldown.

Uses:
-"O S---! THAT (insert DPS) STOOD IN BAD!" *Heals instantly*
-"Well, I can DPS a bit longer, then drop Clerics, give a Regen, oGCD pop Tetragrammaton, then keep DPSing afterwards"
-"Well, my healing partner is dead and I need to be able to heal the tank!" *Pops Swiftcast + Raise on healer, then pop Tetragrammaton on tank during GCD cooldown*
-"My tank is about 50% HP and currently has infirmity / malady! I give no craps!" *Pops Tetragrammaton*

It's a small but wondrous utility and just adds another layer of healing that a WHM can employ to suit a party and/or circumstance. While Cure II can certainly be better, why look a gift horse in the mouth when you can basically say "Here's a free slightly more powerful Cure II that casts instantly!"

Tetra and Assize are, by far, by favorite new WHM abilities (though I do love the other three as well). Like everyone's said, it's free, it's instant, and it's the strongest heal in the game (with the possible exception of Benediction on a horrendous cool down or Essential Dignity which is dependent on how close to death the target is).

I play with a lot of other WHMs in my FC, and we all agree.

How did we ever live without Tetragrammaton?

The side effects are that it's instant and free.

Use it for rescues or just to conserve some mp.

Yeah... I wonder too whats the point of an instant no MP highest potency cure skill. My mind just can't find it uses...

A.) It's an 'OHSHIT I NEED TO HEAL RIGHT NAO' that doesn't take a year and a half to come off CD (Benediction) - I've used this plenty of times to Bene one tank on the brink, then Tetra the other thats about to be on the brink when shit is hitting the fan and any delay to cast a cure WILL result in their death in between. Just boom, boom. Crisis (mostly) averted.

B.) "I need to heal this person but I can't stop moving (like T9's rotating, unpausing Heavensfall explosions) or we're both dead".

C.) "Oh shi- all this healing made me out of MP! And the tank is about to die! Tetra dis!" (no mp req)

It's not as potent as cure II, but it's better than death in the middle of casting and it's better than not being able to bene an emergency again, for a looooooong duration. Alexander floor 4 is prime usage for me, for them both skills - for namely A and C.

its not only instant, its off ther global cooldown timer, which is very valuable.

it's instant, off GCD and free with a accaptable CD - if you dont see it's worth, you should not be healing.

i didn't say it was worthless. i just don't see it as a big deal skill for a lv60 end game skill. should have a bit more potency atleast

Does a level 60 skill have to be amazing? I don't think so. Look at Dissipation and Celestial Opposition. Out of the three level 60 healer skills, Tetragrammaton is certainly the most useful.

Just consider it another tool in your toolbox and use it appropriately. If you can't appreciate that, I don't think there's much more than us, the healer community, can tell you.

It absolutely is.

All of WHM's new skills are amazing. I love all of them and I use them all every single fight. I honestly don't know why anyone would complain about any of them. :\ Especially with what has happened to Bards, I think us WHMs are extremely fortunate to have such useful skills that fit the class well.

In 4 man dungeons its use may not be apparent as battles are relatively short. In loong 8 man battles (ala alexander ) you'll be squeezing it for all its worth to save your mp and use as an instant heal for dps mistakes or tank on brink of death. When it crits it is more or less like benediction lite.

Considering how combat is very restricted to the global cool down concept and how pre-heavensward, the only healing outside of our global cooldowns were our regens (unreliable vs. mistakes on top of incoming raid damage) and Benediction, Tetragrammaton enables White Mages to catch up in healing or spike heal a target without needing to expend more valuable cooldowns or multiple GCDs.

It also provides breathing space for both you and your healing partner in full party content (8 players) as it can save an Aetherflow Stack or other cooldowns for much better use.

To be fair, throwing rancid rat corpses at your team mates hoping it will do something is better than Celestial Opposition.

But yeah, my WHM healing partner loves tetragrammaton.....whilst i am like, um lustrating since 2.0, whats the big deal :)

I didn't see the point when I first got it and now I use it every time lol. It's really useful for those moments when you know your cure 2 is going to be too slow to keep the tank alive and he's really low on HP.

And the best part is that its animation is instant! unlike Bene... >.>; so it's more reliable. XD

Buffed? I feel like this is a troll. If anything it is too overpowered to have both beni and tetra. The tetra animation should have been given to beni to reduce the stupid animation cast time and left it at that.

Beni's cooldown is huge, though. Tetra can be used a lot more freely, just like Lustrate and Essential Dignity.
Besides, what would they replace it with? Fluid Aura II?

Yeah, Lustrate and Essential Dignity already exist, I feel like having Tetra and assize as well is too much and makes content a bit more faceroll.
I'm not too sure what other level 60 ability they could have included but I just don't think Tetra raises the skill cap, if anything it lowers it.

Here's the thing it cost zero mp. I can heal on the go and casting Cure II followed by tetragrammaton is a pretty good nuke heal when someone is low. Having played around with our new heals more I can't say I dislike or hate any of them, they are all great additions to the WHM arsenal.

Ghishlain sums it up very well. I wanted Tetra to be before level 60 so I could use it sooner -- it's one of the nicer abilities.

Even if you're on top of things -- you have a Cure II landing right as a big tankbuster hits... combine that cure II with tetra and that's 10k+ HP restored faster than the health bars can update.

Also, casting regen means no one gets a cure for 5 seconds (well, 5.5ish if you count animation delay). Among all the other things mentioned, Tetra can cover that gap any time it's up.

I would say that this applies to most job... Level 60 skills don't seem to be quite the culmination that getting our level 50 skills were; for most jobs, it's more like just one more tool in the kit than an ultimate ability. But Tetra, simple as it is, doesn't want for utility.

I'd trade both Asylum and Aero III for an extra Tetragrammaton (30 sec CD) any day of the week, and I'm pretty sure 90% of the WHMs would too. I don't think you are even close from noticing how extraordinarily useful this spell is lol.

Tetragrammaton is great, but not so great I'd trade away Asylum and Aero III for another Tetragrammaton button. D:

Yeah. Sometimes I just saw my tank die due to this slow Bene animation... And I still lost my Bene on myself... We could use a faster animation.

Hitting the target instantly, I wouldn't bother be locked on the 'Praise the Sun' animation. It's Awesome!

It's a completely free heal, that casts instantly, on a pretty small 60s cooldown. What do you think the point of this skill is?

Man I hate when you do Benediction on yourself. I rarely use Tetra though don't really like it that much as it's not that often that someone gets so low that it's like oh no! Benediction is always on standby for that, and if it's a DPS it's not really a huge deal, just raise them or have someone else like a summoner raise them but it's not like a tank that's taking consistent damage, usually it's more they missed an AoE and a Cure II would suffice. I was using Tetra earlier but it's not very potent for non emergency heals, instant or not. Maybe it's because I play on PS4 though, there's just not enough buttons on the cross bar for all the abilities, so Tetra has to take a back seat to other more important abilities making it harder to use as an emergency heal.

Misusing benediction sucks, it's even worse when you use it by total mistake and have to wait for the massive cooldown :(

Tetra is a mana saver and can easily be used as simply a free heal. You'll use a lot more mana than you need to if you don't keep this skill on cooldown.
