WHM DPS Rotation

In the ideal situation where you are on a single target boss, what is your rotation?

I was testing

Aero III > Aero II > Aero > Assize > Stone III > refresh Aeros > Fluid Aura > etc

It seems like WHM doesn't have enough time on trial boss to put out high numbers.

P.s. Small ask, does divine seal/presence of mind effect spells cast while the buff is active or when the spell is cast? Like if I case Cure II when I have divine seal up but it fades before the end of my cast will I still get a bonus?

I personally go Aero III > Aero II > Stone III, mixing in Aero whenever I wanna pop oGCD (Fluid Aura, Assize, Shroud), switch out of Cleric Stance, or move out of boss AoE.

To your PS question, in that particular situation, the Cure II will not gain the benefit of Divine Seal.
BTW, Presence of Mind does not increase Spell Speed anymore, its a flat 20% casting speed reduction, so it'll not affect the potency of HoT and DoTs.

PoM will affect it on start cast since it affects cast time. Unsure about Divine Seal but I think it affects it after the spell goes off.

My current perception of the best burst opener on any given boss in Alexander Normal is Aero III - Aero II - Aero - Assize - Swiftcast - Stone III - Presence of Mind - Shroud of Saints - Stone III and DoT refresh until shroud and presence wear off. Cursory testing has a pretty good burst of DPS straight off the bat, and you immediately put Shroud and Assize on cooldown. Even better, with proper execution you shouldn't lose any MP ticks.

Obviously it depends on the group, but this should be pretty safe and no major healing arises within this opener duration even in the hardest fights currently in the game. Admittedly, a serious mistake can disrupt that but what can you do?

I'm still evolving it to some degree, and it may not work for everyone due to OGCD latency.

Don't forget Fluid Aura. You can pair it in with any other off-GCD ability and you will gain damage as long as you don't lose more than about 75% of a GCD. Hell, you could probably put three oGCD after an Aero and still come out ahead.

What I do is:

Aero -> Fliud Aura + Assize + Presence of MInd (While in GCD) -> Aero II -> Aero III -> Stone III (3x) -> Aero -> Aero II -> Stone III.......

A3 -> A2 -> A1 -> Swiftcast -> Holy -> Assize -> Fluid Aura
(I try to get both in one ogcd, I lose a small amount of time but putting Fluid on cooldown is more of a dps increase than waiting for ogcd)

Aero 1 do less damage than stone 3. so i think it is only worth using to save some mana or while you have to move.

Speaking of which, Aero 2 has the same potency as Stone 3, except it's not instant cast like Aero 1. So doesn't that make it not worth it?

Aero 2 was buffed with Heavensward, bringing the DoT potency from 160 to 200, so it's 250 total now.

I genuinely hope you don't do that for single targets. I'm recoiling in horror over the fact of spending nearly 1'200 more MP for 10 less Potency than Stone III. :eek:

You can pair it with an off GCD ability like Assize or Fluid Aura and it's more damage than Stone 3.

By itself, though, you are correct.

For groups using quick DPS

HOLY > HOLY > HOLY > ASSIZE > HOLY > SHROUD OF SAINTS > Wait a min / drink an x-ether > Repeat holy / Assize

For Single targets using heavy front load damage

Presence of mind > Stone 3 > Stone 3 > Stone 3 > Stone 3 > Stone 3


Combination of DOTS and front loaded damage

Aero 2 > Swiftcast > Aero 3 > Aero 1 > Presence of mind > Stone 3 > Stone 3> Stone 3 > Stone 3 > Assize > Stone 3 > Shroud of saints > Stone 3 > Apply dots again and repeat

When going for maximum single target burst at the beginning of a fight *Stares at Faust and Oppressor* I tend to do Aero II >> Aero >> Swiftcast + Aero III >> Pressence of Mind >> Stone III spam (reapply Aero II when it's about to fall off).

Admittedly, Aero III during pull into Aero II >> Aero >> Pressence of Mind >> Stone III spam is probably much more effective if you can predict tank pull.

As has been mentioned, Stone III does more damage than Aero, but weaving Aero in and using oGCD abilities will maximize oGCD efficiency, so make sure to take that into account.

Is Divine Seal and Presence of mind off the gcd?

WHM can push 400+ in Bismark/Ravana EX and Alex 1-3, at least 250 on Alex 4. But this is more about the healer partner you have, his job (is it another WHM, a SCH or an AST ?) and the whole level skill of the party. For those who are interested, the comparison with AST : 300+ and at least 200 on Alex 4.

Presence of mind will affect the spell as soon as it starts to cast, even if the buff drops before it lands. Divine seal will not, it will only affect the spell as long as the buff is up when it lands.

Depends on the situation. Holy is still a good use when AOE's are needed and tied with Assize. This can bring out some quick / large DPS. DOTS and Stone 3 are the typically standard for long fights but during that process you should use some GCD's to squeeze out a little more. Presence of mind is nice because the faster you are the more dps you can unleash :)

Me as a WHM i am using this Rotation: Cleric Stance --> Presence of Mind (Recommended) --> Aero III --> Swiftcast --> Holy --> Assize --> Holy Spam
Got a dps of 2000-2100 (Multitarget) as WHM if i do dps. As long as you have MP you can hold it.

I personaly have Cleric stance macros to switch my bars it helps greatly anyways I usually start the battle with devine seal- cure- regan-asylum on tank that gives me good time to dps. For single target I usually go A3-A2-A1-Presence of mind than span stone 3 until dots need to be replaced. By that time den I go back to heal devine should be up I pop devine and heal away.

In groups I generally do presence - holy - aero iii - holy - assize

Single is usually aero 3,1,2 because of their timers, stone iii usually toss fluid in between aero 1 and 2
