LOL. Lesson learned I hope. Try contacting a gm, maybe they'll be nice since its so rare.
Nah just undersize it with friends and farm it lol.
Gm will say stuff like srry but it is player error etc to not check "your own inventory" for room.
Its why you can't finish retainer ventures with only 1 item slot available cuz u can get 2 items.
100% player error and seems really low chances of recovering item via 1 time item recovery as u haven't "accidentally" deleted it after "obtaining it".
I feel like I need to say something here, because I disagree that it is 100% player error. You see, other MMO's I played have a queue system, so that when your inventory is full, the item that drops goes into queue until you can free up space. This game does not, which I feel is a programming error. Therefore, I feel it is 50% player error and 50% programming error.
I love how it discards the first item on the list, rather than the second.
And yeah, the system is broken. Two people can roll need on a rare drop, and if the winner has a full inventory, the rare drop is simply discarded. Bah, who wants an opo-opo anyway? Primal mount? Throw it on the GROUND.
The devs should give us a 1 hour time frame to clear out some space in the inventory to get the item. I have gone into several dungeons with 5 to 10 spaces open before going into a dungeon and be completely full at the end due to the amount of mats/gear drops. The devs needs to give us more inventory space. yes I understand we get 4 slots for inventory space but there is literally 3 slots just for story items. You do not need 3 inventory slots for story items. Give us 1 slot for story and free the other 2 slots for regular items. That would help out so many crafters and gathers and would also mitigate some of these problems. There are way to many vanity items and mats in this game.
Remember kids... Always keep your inventory clean!*

Out of curiosity though, how can people stand to have their inventories so full that they begin to have space problems? I would go insane lugging around that many items on my character.
Same thing happened to me, hard to believe...
Why not implementing a timer similar to chest drops so you can just discard some items and accept the drop?
I consistantly have inventory issues... I struggle to bring my inventory down to 80/100 used slots, and they fill up again quickly XD
So, um... The first time I ran into Behemoth back as a new 50, and actually managed to get a gold rating, too?
"Unable to receive item."
...yeah. Not too happy about that back then ^^; But there wasn't much to do about it at that point. I've tried to make sure to have inventory space for those types of fates and things since then, but... It sometimes happens even now ^^;
Atma is yet another item that should be in the Key Items drawer, tbh... Can't comprehend why it isn't. Doubt we use one fifth of it at any given time, yet all the slots have been there since the beginning.
And definitely, rare cards should also go in there, at least the first time someone obtains them. Never heard of that tab being full, y'see...
What lesson? That we are screwed over on inventory space so we should pay for more retainers? I bet you his inventory is full of stuff like Rings for alternate jobs that do not fit in the Armoury. You can't place the blame squarely on him, when there are deeper issues going on here.
LOL!! #rekt
I would feel really bad for you, but I am too busy feeling bad for myself, with over 800 runs and no card.
Ring space in the armory chest is only okay when most of your classes are the same level. If all of your classes are at 50 and 60, then you're going to have a lot of overlap. Tanks using the same tank rings, crafters using the same crafting rings, etc.
But if you've got classes across all levels, then you've got serious inventory issues. There are 33 classes in the game right now, so in the worst case scenario that's 66 rings. When you've got an armory chest that only has 25 slots for rings, that's just unacceptable.
It's 23, Beckett - but still an issue. Assume you had everyone at 50 by HW launch. Level one healer, one tank, one caster DPS, one melee DPS, one crafter, one gatherer - now go unlock the new jobs ... you are REALLY pressed for ring space at that point. Leveling classes in a specific order to avoid running out of armory space can't possibly be intended.
How about an MMO that doesn't clog up your inventory with a wing for every bat you slay, drips of saliva from every plant you slay, and blood from every beast you slay? I never picked stuff up in WoW because I didn't need to spend extra time organizing my bags every couple of runs. This game I don't even have that option.
That being said, if you were hunting Terra you really should have had a few slots empty beforehand. If it was a random run, then, you've lost out on nothing, really.
Well, beforehand, maybe he did have some empty slots. It's easy enough for people to go into a run hoping for a particular drop and clearing out some inventory slots ahead of time in preparation for it, only to find out they underestimated how many of those slots will get filled with random other stuff in the meantime before the drop they were looking for comes up.
I like LOTRO's solution to the problem. If your inventory is full when you get a drop, it goes into a bag called "Pending Loot". You get a warning, and then have an hour in which to clear out space so that you have room to transfer the item(s) from that pending bag to your inventory. Any items you haven't collected after an hour disappear. That gives people time enough to finish what they were doing, head back to town, and sort out their loot. Up until the time that feature was added, LOTRO had been nearly as bad about inventory management as this game is. Just giving people time to deal with their loot drops did wonders for it. (Of course, since there many of the loot drops are cash substitutes whose main purpose is to be sold to vendors, clearing out space once you get back to town is a bit quicker/easier than here. FFXIV might not see quite such a dramatic improvement from such a feature, but it would still be a really big help.)
Only Terra, Ultros, and mini-ultros drop from this fight. If you clear three inventory slots, you'll never get a full inventory while farming this fight.
If he wasn't farming for it, then it's more of a major case of Murphy's Law than anything. Which is equal parts funny and tragic.
To be honest, it's partly your fault for having such a cluttered inventory before going into a trial, but for the game to throw away the first card in favour of the second is quite arguably, dumb.
(Then again, this is probably a days-old thread and replying now won't solve anything)
And that's how I lost 1 Ravana Token. :(
