I was so sad when the SMN class quest had you try to summon a Ramuh egi and fail at it (especially after this and how cool it would be to have a little Ramuh with me).
Have they discussed perhaps making pet glamour a thing? Basically, Garuda egi would look like Ramuh with the same set of abilities with different names, etc.

Basically in the live letter they said don't hold your breath.
But when they do come out, muchmuch much later, they said they are taking care with SFX, visual effects, textures, etc.
So much later on, but they will be very high quality. -

They basically said what and see. Since is not just glamour like armor, they still need to do abilities, animations and everything the real egis do. At this point if better to ask for more egis than just glamour for them.

On my Warlock in Warcraft I often switched between whatever demon I wanted to have out cause I got tired of looking at one, all of them have minor differences in abilities but they all do about the same in terms of DPS. Then look at Warcrafts Hunters and the endless supply of pets they can get, and then youll get a headache and wonder why Warlocks cant do the same with all the demons in that game.

I do wonder what exactly it is they have in mind.
Personally I would just be happy with the ability to skin the 3 types with a limited selection of skins - e.g. Caster = Garuda Egi/Emerald Carbuncle, Tank = Titan Egi/Topaz Carbuncle, ...
For the Carbuncles, their ability animations are all already done - save Enkindle.
Are they going for any skin on any type? Would seem weird to see Garuda-Egi tanking stuff. xD Not to mention it would ruin the "identity" of the skin.
Anyway, I hope they can release it ASAP when the base system is done /w what animations they have instead of waiting for ALL the animations of every skin to get done. -

I'm not expecting any changes for summoner to happen any time soon. They will be taking a very long look at summoner and reviewing the class if they want it stay the way its currently made. They put so much into it now that its very difficult to make changes without possibly altering the class as a complete whole. The developers have a very hard road ahead of them and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the discussion came up with let's overhaul the class. Best of luck to the devs because this is one class that is not easy to bring to the table and to discuss about that's for sure.Quote:

I think the glamours are fine - they have the right idea - increase the effectiveness of each egi archtype while expanding the feeling of the job.
I'd be fine with even 1 glamour for each role + the 3 carbys.
Something like shiva or titan, garuda or ramuh, and ifrit or leviathan.
Inb4 its just carbuncles :( -

Sooo.... Garuda glamoured into Leviathan (for example) doesn't give you what you want how again? It actually gives you everything you want... You are just being awkward because you have a chip on your shoulder over something.
You should be grateful SE has responded to the complaints on only having 3 summons by coming up with a solution that suits everyone (well reasonable people), even if you have to wait for implementation... Yet here you are still complaining.

People seem to be forgetting (or are unaware) that originally a Ramuh Egi was going to available at the release of ARR (2.0) alongside Ifrit, Titan and Garuda. However due to the balancing issues that already existed with the original trio and no substantial unique role for Ramuh to fill, his release was pushed back. With the plan of releasing him in a subsequent patch or expansion.
However it became clear not only to SE but to everyone that this situation was never really going to change and Ramuh's Egi model has just been left floating in the data ever since 2.0.
So SE devised the glamour system, not only to bring us one new Egi (Ramuh) but to give us an Egi of all the Primals, as well as the return of Carbuncles. Had SE planned this glamour system from the beginning then we would already have these new Egi.
The moral of the story is sometimes things don't always go to plan and changes have to be thought out and implemented, and for that patience is required. This should go without saying though...
What is interesting however is the possibilities this glamour system opens up. An Egi of each Primal we fought (Levi, Ramuh, Shiva, Bismarck, Ravana) is obvious. However what of the more elusive Primals such as Alexander, Phoenix, Belias, KOTR. Since these glamours are essentially nothing more than just comprehensive visual changes, then the possibility for SMN to aquire Egi of these Primals is far more justifiable.
