No RMT For Me In A Month With No "Busy"

No. I am not kidding. I used to get tells and friend requests all the time like everyone else. But once I finally took upon myself to report all of the RMT who sent me friend requests and tells for long enough, they stopped trying to do these things. In fact, on my server, I think we have whistleblown so many RMT, that they only way they do business now is by standing in plain sight at the Aetheryte Plazas and just use /Say, because my friends have also noticed that they also are no longer getting tells and friend requests from RMT.

So yeah, when SE says they are dealing with the RMT, they actually are serious. Because if you whistleblow enough, oh the silence you will enjoy!

Yeah idk what's going on. I'm on Behemoth, and get maybe 1 tell every 3 days no. No friend requests though. Whatever they've done, I hope it continues.

just your perception, due to the higher player count after expansion launched. there are more ppl for them to spam, some days i get very few and today ive gotten more then 20.

And reporting them all is quite the task with the current report system.

Its starting to come back, tell-wise atleast here on Gilgamesh. Haven't seen any physically in Ishgard yet so not sure if the MSQ requirments are workin in keepin em out of the new areas.

I've gotten a total of zero friend requests since HW...and maybe, like, what? Three? whole tells. It's great.

I still get tells every now and then, but nowhere near the frequency from before HW hit.

Taking away free trial account ability to send tells/friend requests really helped.

I get them nonstop on Jenova. Most likely due to it being very low pop and one of the few servers you can always make a new character on.

It is sloooooowly creeping back in but it's noticeably less than before. I am also on Behemoth and am just glad that they seem to be unable to friend request now.

RMT got lost, saw them spamming in say on Mandragora (JP server)

I have yet to get any RMT since HW launch. It's nice.

What's that? No or very low RMT on servers that have very high population and are constantly bursting at maximum capacity? Who would have thought? Meanwhile, on Coeurl, rmt spam for days.

It never ended or slowed down on Zalera. In fact it probably picked up in speed due to the new amount of potential customers they thought they could nab. They're not in Ishgard yet but they can still send you tells from Ul'Dah...

I sincerely don't believe that. If hordes of RMT BLMs can queue for dungeon parties and use position glitches to get through, literally all a person owning those bots has to do is get at least one of them through Steps. When it comes to real money profit gold farmers always find a way.

Anyway, not the point. The fact they can't feasibly doesn't matter, you can get a tell and a friend request from a player no matter where in the game world they are. The gating of the expansion literally did zero to lessen RMT. Only thing it limits is RMT /say and /shout advertising. Tells and friend requests are still as rampant as ever on lower population servers.

I got very, very few during the period of early access and the Alexander release, possibly because Leviathan was locked to new characters. Once it reopened for a brief period I've started getting them every few minutes. Annoyingly, a huge amount are identical & it would be trivial to block them should we have a test filter.

Or maybe because the servers are almost always in queued so new characters can't get in.

It probably has a lot to do with the lock on character creation on the realms. Our realm was quiet for quite a bit after EA ended but now the spammers are coming back with a vengeance!! So if you still aren't seeing them, consider yourselves fortunate but don't get too comfortable lol.

The RMT Friend request abruptly ended for me since HW.
I've gotten a few Tells ever since then but when I get the time, I open the player search, get all the lvl 1 players in the server and report all the suspicious ones in one fell swoop.

Copy pasting makes this incredibly easy :/

How to receive RMT tells again: go to Limsa.

I wish I could say the same but they're still rampant on the Midgardsormr server.

They're back, but you won't notice due of the amount of Players at this moment. As you know the more People play, the more People appear in the Player Search List.

On Gilgamesh one spams you with 3-4 tells immediately, they also try to use aggressive Methods to get your Attention.

The example above is harmless, they tend to write even more so it fills your entire Chat pretty fast...

I'd just made an alt on Diabolos for the purposes of testing out emotes and animations on another race.

Two tells within 20 seconds of each other in Limsa.

They never could. Nothing changed with trial accounts.

I think it's due to more players / queues on entry now.

Wrong, Trial accounts were able to send friend requests. That was taken away in 3.0 and thats why we don't get them anymore.

RMT will be back as soon as they can create new characters again. Moogle was locked most of the time but as soon as it dropped out of it 1-2 hours late at night i got 1-2 new /tell per night. The more people stop playing or the less are playing the amount they have since HW release the more they will be able to create again and the /tell-war will continue.

At least the friend requests will hopefully stop completely now or its back to /busy when playin in the night :/
