Before the initial fix to drg in 2.4, drg was probably the most punishing dps to play. They brought them to mnks level in terms of being out of position in that patch. So instead of wasting tp and not getting your desired bonus effect, now you'd get the effect and just take a hit to your dps.
What SE did for mnks as far as position potency loss/gain should be the standard for all melee dps. Mnks still have more positionals (which doesn't mean anything to me anyway). Drgs will still go for the positional bonus, but when your forced to throw the attack and can't reach the desired position for said attack, you don't put out a potency that's less than half of the positional bonus potency.
Because, you know... sometimes being out of position isn't your fault. Especially when you hack a 50/50 shot at it being flank or rear while trying to dodge a mechanic. -

I did main nin before HW, switched to drg because their changes were more interesting to me than nins. Leveling nin now though so I can switch between the two as I like. Hopefully the new loot system allows for gearing multiple classes much faster than before. -

I think the potency loss is relative to how high the potency is for their other actions. MNK's attack potency are low, and lose 40-50 potency if not in the right position; a number that after all their buffs are applied is larger.

Going back to the subject matter; I was extremely pissed off when I saw that question. It was the worst representation of the monk communities request for quality of life changes they could have selected to answer. "Can we have a button that just gives us max chakra?" Talk about completely robbing meditation of its entire point. For all intents and purposes I like the idea of having to, in essence, "prime" our uppercut. Coming from a kid who grew up on mortal kombat style uppercuts that sent victims through floors the idea having to build before unleash adds an aesthetic flare to the ability that I dont want to lose. The problem with mediation isint that its "hard" its frustrating and annoying.

Coupled with form shift suddenly there was all this downtime I had to work through before I could attack the next enemy. Or in dungeons if I wanted to enjoy the forbidden chakra more then once it often meant at the expense of sustaining DPS which nullifies the point of using it to begin with. Its about reducing the hoops we gotta jump through. To that extent change form shift to be a one off buff where our next move is unrestricted, ie a weaker version of PB. Give it a 12 second cooldown and suddenly you accomplish exactly what form shift was meant for without having to hit it any more then once. And plz TAKE MEDITATION OFF THE GLOBAL COOLDOWN!

Thats all we'd need, if you feel like it would cause too much of a DPS increase to mnks then fine give the Forbidden chakra a cooldown like howling fist. But allow us to fill those windows between weapons skills to charge our chakra. Hell its the monks very lore that we open our chakra's during combat.
I think the other part of it all is that some of us (me included) feel that our cool new moves, The Forbidden Chakra and Tornado Kick, were built for specific scenarios that dont reflect on the entirety of combat once they are unlocked. The bottom line being that I was to tornado kick and uppercut more.
gonna stop there cause Im ranting, sorry Im only critical because I love my class. Part of this nerd rage, admittedly, was quelled at the news of new glove weapons which I greatly prefer -

Sorry Leonus, I just mean to what they plan to do to dragoons while monks gets screwed over by 95% of their positional attacks. I just personally think its funny how they keep easing that positional requirement for dragoon when its not hard to do. I love my positionals as monk and do not want them to go away but it is just taking away the fun out of truly being a good dps and knowing what to do at the right time, a sense of accomplishment!

I kinda wish we had a passive skill that allows us to get stacks of chakra like using a chain combo at a percent chance. It could be silly to count on rng but we usually dont have any chakra stacks in majority boss fights unless we go off the boss for a split second. (Wish there was more stuff like t7 aoe around the boss coz think of all the chakra i could get mmmmHHHHMmm) But yea continuing on a percent chance for chakra stack like an ogcd probably could trigger it or doing some other combo in a certain stance with our combo. Its most likely a bad....terrible idea but something to think about I guess. xD

They could have just made it a channeled ability that didn't interrupt while moving and is able to be canceled by executing any other action. The longer it's charged, the more stacks it generates. This prevents it from being used during battle, can't be used as an OGCD, can still be used during downtime (boss jumps away) / between battles, doesn't instantly give stacks, and only requires one button press. That's about a billion times better than carpal tunnel.

Both, meditaion/FB and Tornado Kick were added to make up for those moments when you know you're going to lose all greased lightning stacks, they said that meditation is supposed to be stacked during downtimes in fight so you can deal some burst with FB to make up for the damage loss caused by stacking greased all over again...
Two weeks later A4 comes in...
You get sucked by a pipe with a downtime (that will likely remove greased) without a warning that would allow to use TK to spend greased before losing it, and also you cant get any stack of meditation because you're too busy spinning with a stupid animation. Cant even Form Shift either.
That's a great plan SE, lets give monks something to make up for the loss of greased caused by mechanics and lets add mechanics that make it useless right after. -

If you're out of position for both at the same time (just HT or CT and Wheeling/Fang at the same time) you're loosing 240-260 potency in 2 global cooldowns.
Those can be back to back too. It's also possible to loose 310 potency in just 6 gcds.
I'd have to go look up mnk potency losses again, but I do feel that a possible 310 potency loss with the biggest contributor being a 50/50 190 potency loss is a bit much.
In fights like that, it's safe to assume the drg is also missing some positionals. If all three happen to line up... well... shit.... lol. It happens more than people would like to think.
Especially when you have no choice but to eat that large loss to keep BotD. What I'm saying is... if they dropped just 90 of the 190, I'd be more than fight e with it. As of now, I try not to miss, and eat the loss when I have no choice. -

Dragoon get out of here, everyone in melee has positionals and loses pot. to not being able to get to flank or rear. Just shhhhh, being on lvl 54 on monk I have been using a macro in between pulls, since I tired to do two dungeon runs without it, and ewwhhh is slamming chakra and then shift not fun to fit in between fights.
