A small request for the Devs

Since we've now seen it in game, could we please have bare feet on our characters? Or at least the option to? :( I mean how else am I going to be able to pretend to be a real white mage if me feet can't be connected to the planet i draw energy from? Its always been a bother those sandals are, and now that I see that it's possible, if it's not too much trouble, give it to us for those that would prefer it? Please and Thank you

Holy skill animation has nothing to do with what Im asking, also. Do you walk around in the holy skill animation? No.

This receives my support... if I want to be naked, I WANT to be naked.

I mean since beta I've always wanted this, but when i saw it in a certain place, i was like "Well what the hell? why can't I be barefoot?"

With Holy skill, your feet never touch the ground, but rather floating. I was simply stating out that your feet does not need to touch the ground to draw Aether nor your feet have to touch the ground to be a WHM.

Never said it had to, I said it would be nice, please understand what is being asked first. (I played WHM and started as a CNJ back in beta)

And I was simply pointed out the flaw in your logic of a WHM :)

I support the feets request. Underwear and bras as a default, I can see... it always struck me as odd that we HAD to have sandals. Is going shoe/sockless some sort of scandal on par with full frontal nudity that I'm not aware of?

I was thinking the same thing. We can't have nice things because someone always has to try and be a smartass.

I think it has more to do with the way our characters are modeled. The slight "heel" we have when barefoot allows all shoe models to fit similarly. Without that, they would have to adjust all character heights and possibly even running/walking animations to accommodate the lack of a heel. I've finished the story and I can't remember any instances with a barefoot model, aside from cutscenes that don't depict anyone walking without shoes, but please remind me if I'm wrong. I like the idea, I just don't know how easy it is to accomplish. ^^

I fully support the barefeet thing. I always figured it was just because of technical limitations of some sort that we were stuck with sandals, but if that's not the case, then there's no reason I can't go around in barefeet on the beach, as most people do in the real world.....

Let's not forget hiding 'seams' in the textures between the foot and leg^^;;, default shoes/sandals are a great way to hide this.

What sandals? My soles are naturally wooden and I have angular heels. Stop applying your weird human definition of feet to my body.

This made me chuckle.

I had a feeling it might something technical, that's why I said if it's not too much trouble. But even still, don't they already adjust thing to race heights anyways? What so wrong with that? I honestly don't see the purpose of having the sandals, as they already have textures for our bodies from what I've heard

I think it's more of an issue with the angle of feet touching the ground, and not wanting to create movement animations custom to different angles. It's the same reason you won't see super high-heels as an option either.

Also, with how often people discard random wolf fangs, bat wings, horns, lumps of ore, and old potions, the ground is an absolute HAZARD for walking around on in bare feet. Just wait until you run through the broken glass of someone's blinding potion, and end up crawling around like Ray Charles in a Die Hard movie.

I agree with the op. I to wish my character could go barefoot.

I like to think that since the moogles use concealing magic to hide themselves from most people, they're secretly following adventurers around collecting all the random useless junk people toss out. Why? Because they're moogles. Do you really need a logical reason?

Id love for my Au Ra to go barefeet too!

It is a cultural reason. In japan shoes are a big thing. The shoes you see are a house slipper style called "Uwabaki".

Should have option to paint nail on our feet as well.

That is actually horrifying. Imagine all the WHMs floating around with arms extended, and makes a turn every 3 seconds.
