Also Have to say if people want a strategic fight... That Ifrit fight... looks like it has a lot of strategy required and a constant eye paying attention to your surroundings... Explosions, Hellfires, and 3 Ifrits >.>;;;; and he is hell a quick... Seeing the Empire really has me interested too.. That shot from the gunhalberd was impressive....

It really is a burning circle by looks of it

I love the music, is it not a recomposition of the FF12 Aeon song? Sounds a lot like it.

Love how quick he is and his variation skills, and the 3 split surprised me, wonder what it is. Very amped. I dont think this will be easy to "stand tank" as he flying all over.

Ya I was watching parts of it and it looks like he jumps up and lands somewhere else and its like a 1 second move I think it is to ensure Mage's aren't just standing far on the edge away so Ifrit will be jumping instantly anywhere so have to keep moving!

That Ifrit just became 3 Ifrit... We're screwed

I love what im seeing. this is the right step for the game. i wonder who will complain that its too hard. cant get everyone happy these days

Just thinking if that is Ifrit... and he is the starter Esper... I am wondering what the other's will be like... the difficulty and strategy just has to go up from there since he is pretty much from the looks of it the starter Esper for us... by the time we get to Bahamut.... we are so screwed XD

Looks like another melee unfriendly fight! Happy with more content though :)

As has been said earlier, this looks like it requires a fair bit of strategic thinking in order to beat it.

However there also seems to be a requirement of player reflexes as Ifrit sets visible, yet large traps which affect a certain area on the floor (reminds me of the interview the Producer had in which he stated Arcanist will be able to lay traps down) so tanks are going to have to move around a lot while still keeping hate levels high.

Stocking up on fire-resist gear looks like a good idea, too.

Looks like GLA is getting the HP boost it deserves, thank god (The hyur GLA has 3218 HP in that video).

lol... and another little thing I found funny was the "sephiroth fire scene" at the end "who is that coming out of the fire, oh silly Sephiroth and being a pyro.... oh wait... RUN AWAY!!!!"

No, it is not. In Japanese, it's simply "Axe-Master" (斧術士)

I'm guessing that ring of fire that you cannot go outside of will get smaller as the battle progresses on. Looks like it will be a ton of fun!

Incorrect you are Rinsui. It is called Executioner here in Japan... Being I am living in Japan and read the Magazine releases, yes the kanji says Axe-Weilder, but always right behind/over it, the article has in english "Executioner"

Being Japanese myself, and also reading most of the magazines, and playing the Japanese version of the game, nowhere in the game nor in any of the official texts, nor in the common LS-talk, nor on the non-official 2ch forums, nor on the official SE forums anyone uses "エクセキューショナー" (Executioner) for 斧術士, or even the shortened 斧士.

The point is that Exc-related data was present in the data-mined stuff from October 2010 so I thought the distinction is relevant; it might hint at a future specialization they have in store for the class.

Btw: Take a google for "エクセキューショナー FFXIV" (or even the mis-spelled "エクスキューショナー") and tell me how many hits you get ^.^/）. But that's besides the point. I just hope they *will* go into the Exc direction for MRD someday ^.^/ Gogo, giant scythe-axed DRK!

Materia? Maybe they decided to put an icon on the button that before was an "Missing Icon" image. This most likely a gm-tools button.
