I like how when the community hates something, you love it.
But when the community loves something you hate it.
No more gearing out in 1 run for us Ninjas then? :c
as a mage (healer/caster) the robes are uninspired like most robes
That's the problem with the fact we have different classifications of loot being weighted equally without regards for composition. You see 'endless supplies of melee gear' becasue NIN, MNK, and DRG are three different armor sets out of seven possible. Whereas healer gear is 1/7. (Technically, every class has 1/7 odds right now of getting what's actually relevant to them, but argh)
I don't even play a caster or healer- and even my almost weekly CT runs- they rarely drop.
This was purely directed to Negative Nektulos. He's pretty known to be a downer.
Anyways I know how you feel.
Havin' not seen BLM chest drop...ever...literally, not once regardless of my job is insanity in WoD.
Couldn't take it. Now in 3.0 all I see is NIN/MNK crap. Angers me to no end.
I hope it's as good as you say.
Right. I understand it's just true RNG and my experiences are just apophenia and such. But even so, the new loot system addresses it... it basically puts a severe limiter on how much RNG can screw you, and a run with friends/static eliminates even that.
Although I'm not sure why all melee need to have their own gear sets, while DoM and tanks... and now brds/mch, share.
Not to mentionskirtskilts. Wish we had a little more variety...
Could we get some healer gear that looks, I don't know, like this or something?

I am amazed to see all the post whining and complaining about the new loot system, considering there is a whole week to get the tokens before next reset, and how each item has their unique token (not the same token for all) and each player can only get 1 token per turn. I truly don't see why people are complaining so much, not even 24h has passed since the raid is out and everyone wants to have all tokens for their weekly allowance.
I assume they preferred the old system where some unlucky player could be weeks in a row without getting 1 single drop.
Finally a fair system, no complains from my side, some people just need to learn to be more patient.
We~ell.... I actually created a thread asking for hakama once, thinking it would go well with yukata, so I can't really complain on that count. xD I was kinda hoping for the other style of hakama but, oh well.
But, the Sharlayan Preceptor set? It has this kind of late 1800s/early 1900s feel to it and I really like it. But... why a "longkilt"? A set of dapper trousers would have gone with it so perfectly...
People do realize it's not much different? Bad luck on drops or rolls is still bad luck on drops or rolls. Prior to this you may not see your item drop but likewise after this you may never win a roll on what does drop. Statistics might dictate you have a better chance but reality is not quite so fortunate as to always follow statistical norms and your luck might still keep you farming for just as long or even what might feel like forever just to win a single roll on something unlike for example the new EX modes which guarantee a token for each win that builds up in case of seriously bad luck. Personally I am not going to get my knickers in a twist over RNG is RNG just yet as it still applies equally to the new system as did with the old but I do dislike people thinking everything will be hills alive with sound of music based on Alexander's loot system.
Yes but with a run of friends/FCmates/static etc, in this new system you're guaranteed a drop. In the old system, you can farm with fully geared friends that have all pieces all night and you still might never see the piece you're looking for.
With pugs/DF, your chances are at least much improved.
All this system did was trade one set of problems with a new set of problems. Two months to get a chest piece for a second job? People find this acceptable?
I really don't find this system any better than the previous system. All they had to do was adopt the primal EX system and it would have resolved all of the loot system issues.
It would be nice if they dropped the loot lockout when savage mode hits rather than months down the line but somehow I don't see them doing that.
I actually wish for smn and BLM to be separate gear wise like what they did with mnk/nin. I also wish that if they are gonna give casters skirts they would at least have the sense to give them shirts instead of robes. Makes no sense to put a skirt under a robe because you won't ever see the skirt. I like to see the gear I'm wearing not cover it up with a darn robe.
I personally do not like the fact bards and machinists are forced to share the same armour too, not from a stats point but from a visual appearance angle. I haven't seen much in the way of bard armour that suits a gunslinger aka machinist as of yet. The alexander gear set might be better suited to machinist but it looks pretty ugly in my opinion in general no matter if bard or gunslinger. I also still think machinists should of been given dual guns aka gun 'set' loot/gear pieces like how monks and ninjas get such as opposed to single gun. It looks odd to me and makes it less fun or interesting.
On the topic of physical appearance of gear, my biggest gripe is that they ALWAYS make healer and caster gear look exactly the same save the color. Why can't healers and casters get different looking sets?
Loot system is EXCELLENT, now you can get exactly what you want. Only problem is being outlotted by 7 other players. They should do a weekly quest when you complete all turns, you get 2 tokens or something :) This way, you should get at least one measly item, more if you are able to win all loot on each turn.
