Ladies love it when you find the Grit.
Every thread you made there's pun intended... lol
Ugh, I hate to admit it, but this is honestly how I feel about most warriors right now. As a fellow 60 warrior, there is a time to DPS, and there is a time to tank. The issue is, most Warriors are so busy trying to 'push out the maximum dps' that instead of actually doing tank-things, they're using things like vengence and [b]raw intuition[b] so they can get a third Fell Cleave out -_-
I'm sorry but if you're going to take big hits (Such as Ravana-EX tank busters), save your bloody CD's for mitigating that damage. I'm tired of seeing Warriors fall to 1-2k HP because they didn't pop anything because they used it during Berserk on the first one. -_- I shouldn't have to say this but seriously... It's pathetic.
In ALL fairness, I get sync'd all the time, mister! That deactivates my Shield Oath! >=( BUT I'M NOT IN A HURRY WHEN IT HAPPENS. I'm sneaky and I activate it the moment I realize (Sometimes when I see somebody taking aggro off me), hoping no one realized it. <.<... >_>
My raid leader, which is an skilled healer, had this experience today as he was posting, minute by minute, all the things this WAR was doing/saying. Even mentioning the same DPS numbers. This WAR also called him "bad" for not knowing how to heal a FULL DEEPZ L33T WAR.
Now you see, those I'm ok with (everyone makes mistakes, I often place selene during a boss fight and forget to heel her after resulting in her desummoning) but some people dont notice even when they're struggling with aggro or being squishy.
This is amazing
Well to all those Dark knights that keep Darkside off the entire Dungeon run thus cutting off a certain amount of their abilities and defense skills....

I confess I've been bad about this until the last dungeon run or two. Now that I've hit level 50 and got all "dem skillz", it's easier for me to lay a couple pages out and start memorizing said layout/start using the Dark Side more often.
At the same time, I've had the dumbest anxiety about tanking (tried with Pld and War, same result), but after trying Drk... anxiety gone, and judging from the surge of commendations and compliments, I'm not half bad at it either! X)
I think you lalafells are just born tanks. Tiny in size, but big muscles. I've had many bad Au Ra DRKs, but every Lalafell tank I've had since HW has been quite good.
The last Au Ra DRK was in Vault with me and tanked the 2nd boss so close to a void portal that I couldn't even do rear positionals without it tethering me >_>. He never moved either, so me and the DRG got sent into the stacking portals behind us and trapped between the orbs and portals at the boss. Needless to say, that didn't end well. Him and the DRG were friends though so I got blamed and kicked for mentioning that he should tank in a better spot :(.
DRG was dead and on the brink of death constantly, healer eventually died. I just respawned and they raged about that lol.
Funny you should mention Au Ra Drks, because... I actually got Drk to 50 on my alt, which I Fantasia'd to an Au Ra when early access for HW started XD But it's okay, technically I'm still a Lalafell at heart, so it still sorta counts? I typically state that I'm a Lalafell in disguise anyways... X)
I tell tanks everytime I see them switch to Dps stance I'm going to go cleric and dps too, I either get kicked or they stop.
and i think tanks like it when healers don't go cleric stance, and don't heal you until you're close to death.
i've nearly died, quite often, even with grit and buffs, on.
i usually test the healer capabilities throughout a dungeon - if they are good, i'll drop grit on bosses or small mob packs. well i got to The Vault, now, and those bosses hit really hard, so i keep grit on :) but in Aery, most of the bosses attack other ppl, more often than tank, with AOEs, so healers got like 10sec windows to heal me.
and for ppl that say it's important for drk to maintain darkside, it's like saying a healer needs to maintain cleric stance - it's not. It drains MP really quickly, and makes you more likely to not be able to aggro properly. And if it's so important, then i'll drop grit too.
So if ppl wanna complain about stressing healers, then don't stress the tanks?
competent healers and tanks will adjust to the situation, and dps as appropriate.
Most ppl don't seem to be able to play their job properly, even without the added hassle of dps, and micro-managing MP with darkside, on...It's like those war, who don't seem aware of that they have Overpower, so they just pick ONE mob, and ignore all other mobs.
that's not really appropriate. Tanks already dps while tanking, anyway. A pt can survive with tank dd-stance, but it will wipe quickly without healing.
a tank is doing his job, even with DD-stance, but you don't, with cleric stance, and dpsing.
Never lost my touch to the Darkside once since level 30 ;) I love touching the Dark Side!
Any Dark Knight who doesn't have Darkside up at near 100% and has mana issues needs to sit down and review their rotation or consider another class.
There is absolutely no reason not to have Darkside up. Furthermore I'm not a fan of any tanks who go in without their tanking stance. Why. Why stress your healer and lose your extra threat. You get it back by letting your whm sometimes nuke if you take less damage.
Makes no sense to me. You're making a harder time on everyone because "numbers".
Stop making us look bad.
FFXI Dark Knights were DPS...Not sure why they are tanks here. Give it some time. There are so many new tanks who are used to being dps they will need time to adjust or go back to what ever dps they were.
I was greatly excited for Dark Knight then they said it was tank and I was uninterested. There is nothing wrong with tank but I just prefer to be a dps. Thematically I love more freedom and less responsibility on keep mobs on me at all times where 1 screw up in a rotation as a tank could mean you lose hate and possibly wipe, as dps 1 screw -up is bad but no where and heavy in consequences. Its good we got another tank. because there really was a huge dps player ratio to tanks before heavensward. (still is but you know what i mean)
