As topic says, I am going to shelf my bard (its 53 almost 54) like many others till they fix them so they aren't such garbage compared to other dps as they are now. My choices are: 50 pld, 44 whm, 41 arc (going summoner but i'd gear scholar too) Or level my 25 ish ninja (cuz I hear they are awesome). Help me out here because as it currently is I am kinda jumping between the 3 40+ ones and I need to get something to 60 asap.
So since bard is crap now what should I main?

Bard isn't crap. Wanderer's Minuet is crap. There's a clear difference here. Also, do we really need another topic on the same thing?
That aside, if you're adamant about switching class just go with something you enjoy. Black Mage seems like an obvious choice if ranged DPS is your thing. They're still the undisputed champions of damage. -

Anyway serious answer: Go with what you enjoy most. My other main is SCH, it's very fun, and also NIN which doesn't hit hard but it hits fast and that adds up very, very quickly. -

If you want to do a DPS job, as a former NIN as my primary DPS job, I recommend monk.
More consistent dps than other jobs, less issue with lag (Mudra lag makes NIN really slow sometimes). Some of the fights in HW are a real pain as a monk, but overall after getting used to constant positionals, I've found it far more enjoyable than any other DPS job personally. -

So you haven't even played the Bard at level 60? Don't let your view of the class be twisted by what other people say on the forums. You have to decide for yourself whether or not you still like the class after the change. Do you really know whether you like those other classes either, because the only other class you've played at 50 was PLD and we all know the real reason why that is. I would personally get the Bard up to 60 since you haven't even tried out Empyreal Arrow + Barrage yet.

Paladin is still the best tank class in my opinion, although most people who try DRK say they are having quite a bit of fun with it.
If you don't mind the Holy nerf, White Mage is still the best healer class in my opinion also.
I haven't come across a lot of Ninjas so far, but their DPS output is pretty high and they are quite mobile, so it should be a refreshing change from the so-called "Bow Mage".
