Buff fate exp gain in the new zones. Noone is doing them at all.

Please buff exp gain in the new zones. Make more fates in the new zones. You have these massive zones but barely anyone is running around doing fates. Only people running around them are people who are lvling up through the first time probably. Nerf the fate gain post lvl 50 in Northern Thanalan. Buff exp gain by 20%-30% in the new zones and scale them accordingly. Cause trying to get exp once your roulettes and challenge logs and hunt bills are done, is becoming a pain. The exp required is nonsensical in relative to the exp gain given by fates.

Bump.

But really, there's little reason to do so, though it may come by the time Alexander comes out.

Currently, a lvl 51 with an armory xp bonus can grind fates in NT at about 3x the XP per hour that can be done in either of the new starting zones. In the time it takes to complete 1 fate in Coerthas or Sea of Clouds, you can do about 2-3 (sometimes more if you chain them well and they are spawning like crazy) in NT. This is why NT is jam packed with players grinding out alts. Additionally, the mobs there are still scaled to 2.0 standards while the mobs in the new zone are scaled to 3.0, which amounts to a glaring ilvl discrepancy and gap in mob strength.

It would have been nice if the new zones took this into account so people would fate farm in them, but they don't so people stay in NT for the sheer efficiency of xp gains that are there.

This is one of many reasons that really get me worried about where this game is going. Complete nonsense

I think HW zone FATE parties will pick up when more and more people start leveling secondary jobs through the 50's, due to flying chocobos zipping you between FATEs. But yeah, standard 52 FATE should give more exp than standard 48 FATE.

another way to avoid this issue is to do with fates what they did with crafting leves: make the 49 and below fates give much less xp once you hit lvl 50.

Lol make em give less exp for what, current HW Fates are ASS and should be adressed. Dusk Vigil being inferior to Aurum Vale lol for exp.

More exp by a very good margin and make them more infrequent. So FATEs become what they should be, a big event to break up the monotony of grinding, instead of what it is, a monotonous grind because it's available and gives so much exp.

It's just bad exp scaling across the board.

At 58, Nthana fates aren't as quick as questing in the new zones, at least from what I personally can tell. I'm seeing quite a few people in their 50's all the way up to 59 running them but I don't get why... I get that its easy exp, but the exp is so small in comparison to what each lvl requires in the 50's. 14k exp per fate in Nthan when I need almost 3 mill exp... It moves slooooooooooooooooooooooow, where simple quests are regarding around 38k exp.

i dont really care because grinding in and of itself is monotonous... but hw fates shouldnt be giving less exp than normal lv 49 fates

North Than prob needs to get nerfed exp, and then bump exp in the new zones. Honestly PF has been like 8 parties soley to north than.

I've been in those groups as well and people are staying in NT all the way to 60, had 3 58s and 2 54s in the pt lol

I don't get why other then its the lazy persons way of lvling up. It's more time consuming but you don't have to do anything but run from fate to fate. I did it from 56-57 and it took fooorrrrrrrrreeeeevvvvvveerr vs had I quested in the new zones. Don't nerf the exp in Than, UP the exp in the new zones. Thatll hurt people lvling up from the 40's-50. Just increase the Fate exp in the new zones.

Increase Fate exp in new zones, Increase mob exp in new zones, problem solved. Im getting anywhere from 200-400 exp from lvl 58 mobs and I need nearly 3 million. Yeah, wtf..

The exp from mob kills could definitely go up but the FATEs themselves are pretty decent especially with the armory bonus. In the Dravanian Hinterlands @58 I'm getting 33k-38k per FATE. I had a nice group of 3 + 3 chocobos going today and the exp came fast.

Yeah don't nerf that zone. Get the high level players out by buffing the fates they should be doing.

I decided to level an alt I have around 45 today. The next MSQ was 46 and I had already done dailies. No big deal. I teleported to NT to do a handful of fates so I could continue slogging through story missions but...the lag was so bad I couldn't cast, I couldn't run or even tell if I was standing in anything because there is a horde there so large its become impossible for people leveling to 50 to do so in the zone they are supposed to. Its frustrating to say the least. I'm stuck doing fates in Coerthas because unless I join a fate party and pretty much let them carry me, I could not accomplish anything in NT. Fix this please. Its not just high level people hurting. Its making the 45-50 people suffer to.

I didn't really believe this until I tried it. Dravanian Hinterlands is actually good at 57 on up. And its easy. Its definitely better than N.Thanalan fates. Out of all of the new heavenward zones, DH is the best one for fates.

Honestly, I think they could nerf Northern Thanalan experience gains from FATEs by 50% and people would still do them. The new zones are just terrible. The mobs are much tougher and the FATEs take longer, but the rewards are similar to the level 48 and 49 FATEs from Northern Thanalan until you hit the 56+ area. At that point, FATEs start giving more, but the mobs still suck.

Problem solved. Nerfing old content will do nothing but harm the game/community's mindset.

On my server - Adamantoise, most zones that are below 30ish are empty. Hardly any players at all which is to be somewhat expected but at the same time leads me to believe the server population isn't the healthiest. Can anyone on the higher pop servers shed some light on populations on their servers in even some of the zones below 30? Even Coerthas is becoming empty which is sad as its a great fate zone. Granted, I know people are getting higher but it is nice having a populated server where I don't have to dread switching to one of my lower classes if I want to and know I will be able to do some content. My main problem is, I cannot figure out what class to level next to 60... I've got 53 Summoner, 37 BM, 30 Monk, 33 Astro. I can't tell which roles I would like. Im partial to tanking so picking something that's not a tank is somewhat confusing sometimes. I've played Monks in every game that has had one so I tend to lean towards that but now that Dungeon finder queue times are back to the usual slow pop times for dps, healing may be better. I don't know...

I can say on Ultros that Coerthas and Eastern La Noscea have fate grinding parties.

Another fix is to buff Dungeon EXP. Cutter's Cry was awarding more EXP than Aery. As a tank I only run each dungeon once since the exp wasn't worth it.

Ugh Northern Thanalan is pretty horrible now. Pretty easy to kill and the crowd that makes lag.

It will do more then that. it will seriously kill people leveling their toons from 45-50. Those areas were set up for players in that level category. Only reason it's faster then the new areas is the new area FATE's simply suck.

So I agree. NO NERFING is needed. just make the FATE's in the new Zones WORTH IT!. and get rid of the horrible scaling model they're using while they're at it. I shouldn't walk into a lvl 54 FATE and hit a LVL 53 or 52 mob and barely see it's health move just because the last group that did it was a group of 20. it should scale to ME, when im doing it. not to THEM who did it last time. dumb and dumber.

Actually there is something wrong with buffing mob exp: it helps the bots; promotes botting even, if people can just sit there and kill mobs to 60.

Bots are a very minor and silly issue when it deals with leveling up via mob grind. I would rather not see Bots who grind mobs in the world in a secluded part of the map that nobody is on then see them in fate group or in dungeons.

Second if mob exp was buffed to give around 2k exp per kill of equal level mob at 56 it would still take 1296 mobs to level. honestly that is still to low. 1000 mobs Per level should be a the absolute MAX it takes to level. and 2k per mob is Dungeon level exp.


Face it they botched the EXP rates on EVERYTHING in HW. Fates, Mobs, and Dungeons. The only reason they did this is to prevent people from leveling all the jobs to 60 in short time to prevent them from getting bored until they had more Endgame content.

Now this is a Great idea to Slow down the Hardcore players who play 12 hours a day everyday because they have Tech Jobs at home and sit there and play while doing there job. but for the Average players who only have 3-4 hours a day this model is Garbage and Terrible.

There are solutions that would make it more bearable.

Rest EXP- Add a Increamental boost for every 5hours you are offline to give 500% more exp vs additional 100% per kill.
Dungeon Run- add a Triple exp per mob killed the 1st time you run a 51-59 level dungeon per day. Every Dungeon not just 1 Duty finder run. This Bonus could be in the form of challenge Log.

Challenge Log- Add Daily challenges for exp boost. Kill 100 Mobs, Kill 10 mobs in each HW zone, Kill 1 of Each mob in every HW zone.

there is many many ways to fix this issue but they won't despite what the Devs say

Great Ideas btw. I agree...there are tons of different things they could do to help out the low playtime folks w/o greatly impacting the high playtime folks. Just increasing the Challenge log reward exp would be a start...this is a weekly thing that you can't do more then once....the reward could/should easily be 100-200k instead of the 80k that some provide right now (examples are lvl 55-56 log).

Fated to wander (56) reward, 86k. I can get that in 20m in N. Thal, in FATE exp alone. that could be 240k easily, and not be too unbalanced.

Dungeon Master (56) reward, 56k. 150k isn't too far off.

a person should be able to fulfill a full level with the challenge log in a weeks time. This isn't out of whack, and should be fair. Or if they want to buff exp in other ways they can reduce the challenge log exp to suit, say 180k/100k respectively for the above.

It's simply silly how slow they eek out exp in this game. It would be one thing if every class could run the quests...but with this game design it actually hurts you to run an alt class atm. it's faster to just level another character.

Unfortunately there's going to be bots wherever you go, whatever game you play. That doesn't mean harm the gameplay for those people actually playing the game legitimately. Theres absolutely nothing wrong with having the *capability* to grind to max level from mobs should someone WANT to do it instead of being forced to quest in a linear fashion. Having OPTIONS of how you progress your character is a damn good thing. This game already has slower gameplay then most mmo's and the time it takes to kill mobs is already slower then pretty much every other mmo on the market. So lets penalize players even more by having mobs give shit exp per kill. No logic behind that at all.

Yeah, and let's add captchas to all abilities to make things harder for bots!!!
Stuff like making things worse for bots is secondary to making things enjoyable for players.

If they want to crack down on bots they can do so, they can start by adding a simpler report feature so that you don't have to write an essay every time you want to report someone.

Because there are SEVERAL FATEs in that zone, it's a small zone, they respawn very fast, some FATEs are very close together so you can double up on FATE participation, there is a triggered Animus book FATE that is almost always up, and one large boss FATE with higher exp rewards. It's fast. A lot faster than you think. I think someone in one of my linkshells said they were averaging ~800k exp an hour in that zone.

Actually, the new zone FATE system was just bad. The level range you could level sync was very small, they were very spread out across very large zones with some FATEs completely inaccessible without flying, the exp reward was very low, you lost armoury bonus, and they took far too long to kill. The first few FATEs I joined in on at Western Coerthas I got a whopping 14k-ish experience for 10 minutes worth of fighting. I can sync in several pre-HW zone and get 12k+ for a FATE, and one or two trash packs in a dungeon give more than that.

Actually, if they fixed the challenge log in general it would help immensely. Almost all of the experience point gains from challenge log are percent based, but the exp is capped at level 50 values.
