Foundation Day Has Begun!

And thankfully, the music is much better (less annoying) than Bombards event!

NO npcs though! on besaid at least.

Maybe it's just me, since I still have one of the Imperial Devices quests active, but nothing shows up for any type of quest/free seals like others say they're getting.

Nevermind, just must have not liked my first 'small talk' !

small talk gave me the free seals not a quest

The NPCs don't do anything but talk to me. I've cleared all the Immortal flames quests, not sure if that has anything to do with it. I've tried logging in and out, and teleporting between cities, and nothing works.

When I spoke to the main NPC (one who gives quests for GCs) inside of each zone, and selected 'small talk' he spouted off a small blurb and granted 1,000 seals. So far haven't determined that fireworks sold under new tab for exchange do anything other than just what they're supposed to do.

So we have company music outside, fireworks, 1000 free seals, fireworks to buy at company corner, a few decorated airships, some flags moving with wind and....that's it? No item...nothing? ; ;

I felt a bit disappointed with it.

free 1000 seals to buy gear with? idk I think its nice, not eventful but I can buy some of those gears before I am locked to just 1 company

musics pretty cool and spamming fireworks is pretty fun too :D

A nice diversion before the patch. And who could complain about 1000 free seals... oh wait.

I took the opertunity to get recruit status with the Immortal flames tonight.

Actualy had the time to read what the npc's were saying about seals. We are going to have to buy our way into the ranks with them. Perhaps 1k free seals is nothing to sneeze at. Have to say the company music playing in each of the towns makes just about anything done in town feel like its of the utmost importance, Really digging the vibe.

I dunno about you guys, but my linkshell took this otherwise "boring" event and made a nice party out of it... :cool:

Eh, like Yoshi said, the anniversary isn't till the 30th so never know what might be included with that~!

This event means 5 free company manuals for me—which are like crack. I can't really complain about freebies.

I'm gonna keep my seals and buy a personal Chocobo when they release them! >:3

It's the same music that plays in the Grand Companies, so it's not new.

Do the seals go somewhere else? Because I went from 1250 to... 1250 after I talked to the NPC in the ward of flames and he said he gave me 1000.


Nevermind, it just lagged a little for me there.

Do you get 1000 seals per nation or just 1000 from the nation of your choice and then you're done? I haven't had the chance to log in to check it out yet.

Can get 1000 from all 3.

We also get an event profile avatar. I just saw it ^^ Not THAT cool, bt better than nothing ^^ I just wish we could use these profile avatars as forum avatar.

They haven't told us how many seals it's going to cost to move up in rank with your respective grand company. In order to attain your chocobo, you have to move up in rank. For all we know it could be 5k seals to move up in rank.

Good deal on the fireworks, 20 for only 5 seals :)

Anyone have any screenshots of the 3 Cities posted? I'm at work and wanna see what they've done for the event :P

Each of the 3 city-states has a tent with 4 NPCs who blabber on about joining their Grand Company along with badass cannons and rocket launchers, loads more banners and flags around the city, as well as colorful balloons with streamers and lights floating in the sky. The fireworks from the Fireball Faire are back, too! :D

Since there are no repeatable methods to get seals as a recruit (unless this changes with 1.19), I doubt pledging your allegiance to one Grand Company will cost gil; it'll probably be a quest of some sort.

Thus far, the free seals seem to only be a 'start' towards the upcoming stuff for 1.19 like chocobos. I'm not going to turn them down! As was clarified in another thread I was following, make sure to burn all of your seals for all but the company you plan on joining, as they will become unavailable after 1.19 for an indeterminate amount of time.

It may just be me but I play quite often and, I remember after 1.18 went live, all of the banners were everywhere like they are now. I keep seeing people saying how there's all these banners all of a sudden but I've been seeing them since 1.18? I mean, yea the tent area has some streamers and crap too but the flags and banners everywhere are the same since I first saw them, unless they took them down for a while and I didn't notice?

you will be able to use your seals until you join a company. They won't be invalidated immediately when 1.19 hits.

People are referring to the fluttering flags, Im assuming. Those were never there. Also, they did actually increase the company-presence with extra banners.

Ah ok, it wasn't till you said that I noticed the flags! Comparing with some screenshots I took of when I first saw the new banners and stuff though I haven't really noticed a difference. I haven't been to limsa yet, though. But I do like the flags.

The music is freakin amazing. Definitely more reason to stick around Grid more (music sounds similar to the Bar/hub music from final fantasy tactics advanced). I would love it if this music didn't go away somehow at the end of the event.
