Hi. Problem that support refused to solve for me regarding paid Code. Please respond.

Hi. 1st, congrats on the objectively best expansion of all time.
Now on to my problem, that paints your service in a bad light.

A few months ago, I bought the Limited Edition of FINAL FANTASY XIV 1.0 alongside a code for the "Garlond Goggles" in-game item.
I successfully redeemed it.

The "Garlond Goggles" were half the reason I bought this.
The other half, was the "Onion Knight Helm" in-game item.

I have European version of game and all codes are European too.
Thing is, "Onion Knight Helm" Code says that it's already registered when trying to be used.'
That's not possible, I scratched it myself.

I used chat support, and Agent Francesca decided that they cannot do anything about it, even thought the codes STILL work, and asked for my code. She then decided that it was used on another Account on Septmeber 22nd 2010.
She then rudely disconnected.

How can I get my code? FINAL FANTASY XIV 1.0 was released on 30th September 2010.

Please help, someone. Some of us are huge fans and could NOT be there for 1.0, so please, let us use what we paid.

Also, I am trying to buy a 25th Anniversary FINAL FANTASY Box, that contains the "Moogle Earrings", which are still valid, are still Japan exclusive, and are still Region Locked to Japan.
Bayohne had confirmed that they will convert all Moogle Earrings codes on the Account's approppriate Region right here on Lodestone, but the support rep told me that they suspended that service.

What is going on? How can this be justified?

Am I ever going to get an answer?

I'm not sure what else you could do than to go to ebay and buy a onion helment for like 7 dollars or so. .-.

I have bought the Limited Edition already. Also, the Codes are Region Locked and I am on a European Service Account, and no one is selling European Onion Knight Helms.

You never specified where you bought this box, was that intentional? Because I don't think they're really responsible for giving you a free item if you bought a box from someone who already used the code to get the item in question.

Perhaps they had expiry dates?

EA was released much sooner than that, I want to say it was the 23rd if my memory serves. So that code was used the day before early release came out.

No, because:

1) It says "Code already registered", when if a code is expired it will say another message. (confirmed from support). Also Support confirmed these don't expire.

2) A friend bought one too, and he used it after me and worked.

Still, before original release, and by someone that had access to the factory/printing process, since I scratched it myself. It wasn't scratched. It's a factory mistake.

Just because you "scratched" it yourself does not mean it was not used. could have been a hacked code. Again this is way back in 2010 I say cut your losses maybe some goggles and a hat was not worth all the extra you spent on it. :/

What? So, it is acceptable if someone hacked my Griffin Mount Code from Heavensward Collector's Edition for Square-Enix to not replace it?

Also, I bought it because I am a collector, and I like FINAL FANTASY XIV.
The posts from official reps in this very forum said that the codes are still redeemable, and the support channels said that they don't have an expiry date.
I bought an untouched leaflet.

So, I am entitled to my stuff.

Anything related to the 1.0 client has been abandon by SE and Yoshi P. The forums, the client, the codes. It's time to move on. No offense.

But they haven't. I have confirmation from official Square-Enix support and official forums. I bought it based on official information. And the product doesn't work as advertised from official sources.

Here's the thing. When I bought my 1.0 CE for the goggles and such, I was e-mailed an activation code. When I received my 1.0 in the mail, the code in the box was the same as the one in the e-mail. So who ever you bought the CE from could have very well used the code already.

I understand you're a collector but you have to look at it this way. Sure, you get special in-game goggles that stop working after level 20. Sure you can glamour them. But what do you have to show for it when the game inevitably gets shut down because Final Fantasy XXV: Realms in Chaos is released as the new MMO where people jump the bandwagon saying how they miss XIV and it was better blah blah etc.

You're not missing anything by a digital in-game item. I wish I could gift you mine because they sit in my retainer collecting dust. Cut your losses and just move on friend.

You took a chance and bought a five year old game from a second hand source and the code does not work. This has nothing to do with SE. You are entitled to ask the seller why the code does not work and/or demand recourse through them.

This whole I demand that SE give me stuff when really you have no idea what happened is laughable given the time that elapsed and the circumstances.

The risks you run buying second hand goods unfortunately. Your CSR told you exactly when the code had been used, so you are SOL.

Can any of you, or an official Square-Enix rep provide proof that the Onion Knight DLC Code that was on an scratch it leaflet was sent through an e-mail to buyers?

If so, I understand.
If not, I am entitled to the contents of my purchase, as they are still valid per advertisement here on official forums and through official support agents, which affected my purchase and my expectations of it.

The 3rd Party didn't Produce the Product, nor Publish it.
It's a Licensed Product, not a bootleg.

A licensed product but was it sold from a licensed distributor? It needs to be sold from a licensed distributor with the rights to sell said product. If you bought it from a licensed distributor, that means you bought it officially. If bought from let's say 'Ebay', SE cannot help you.

Why not? I still have my e-mail with my Asuran Armguards code. If it's true (which is unlikely, what these guys are thinking, is probably some sort of Early Access Code / Registration Code), someone can provide proof.
Still, this can be confirmed, by official response.

Sorry to bump an old thread but i found this in my e-mail when I bought my second copy for my wife after I had been playing for a year or two.

Proof that when ordered, you received the activation key and the bonus key. I remember this clearly because you had the option to pay an extra $5? I think it was only $5 for the digital download service if you didn't want to wait for the physical copy to comes in the mail.

Sorry bud but it's not SE's fault. The person you bought the game from used the digital code that was sent to them. They owe you, not SE.

I also suggest putting it in firefox if you did it in chrome... Just saying
My So couldn't register his CE Physical bonus items code for the longest time. We also bought it from the SE official store.

So we were frustrated when he got "that code has already been used" when we just unlocked the code in the store and were like wtf.

He tried in firefox instead of chrome and worked instantly.

Maybe its your browser.

If not then my suggestions are just get it from SE next time lol.

Either I am reading something wrong, or you made a mistake and didn't understand! The Onion Knight Helm featured in a leaflet in the Limited Edition is nowehere there.
I only see Ggarlond Goggles and Activation Code.

Stop telling me about Early Access and stuff.
