I don't mind many quests. You could always save them for your other jobs.
But there are some quests which require you to find objectives hidden away in the z-axis dimension which make it really annoying...especially the one that you have to find 5 wildfowl nests...I want to break something because of this quest T-T
I like how people before were like "All these Go there then there then there" and "All these Kill x creatures". Now we got something slighty different and people complain about that aswell.
I do however see your point, it gets rather repetitive after the first like 3 times or something. I just tried to think "this is how Moogles are, life is but a game for them" and tried to seek justice in that.
My biggest complaint is that I wasn't able to join the Mogsguard.
Something slightly different?
"Slay wamourae."
"Slay wamouracampa."
"Slay wyverns."
...yeah, the monsters are different, the quests? Nope.
"Find the moogles."
"Find the moogles."
"Look for the moogles."
"Look for the moogles."
"Find tools."
"Find baskets."
"Collect nests."
...minimal amount of difference only in wording.
And the way some of those things are hidden, like seriously....there isn't even any effort to hide that we are doing the same quests over and over. Best part is when they're chained, so you can't even pick them up and do them at once.
It's just like when we complained about FATEs, how awful and boring and repetitive they were... and SE's answer was giving us more FATE grinding when they introduced Atma. And then, maybe on a smaller scale but still, with Alexs.
Shouldn't even be surprised, I guess.
I hate moogles with a passion now. Not purely because of these repeated fetch quests, but the fact that they, the moogles, are so freaking lazy. Sadly, it hasn't gotten any better after I progressed.
moogles are love, moogles are life
Slightly different? They have all been the same, find and look for. Slay 0/3. Over and over, not much effort added except for the story maybe, the quests objectives are just the same and takes times. I wouldn't mind objectives more challenging and fun, like defending someone with a health bar, something like tower defense. I'm sure they can always come up with new ideas.
Lets be honest here, people are only complaining because its moogles. How is doing a lot of fetch quests etc any different from previous quests? :P
Personally I dont find them troublesome. Ofcourse I made sure to get flying in that zone when it became available, before doing the sidequests. ;)
Yes I have to agree maybe it's the 2 levels quests about Mogs makes it boring. Made me really hate them haha.. You are required to fly anyway to get these quests done. If it wasn't for my Griffin I would have just switched off my PS4 and got back to my real life lol
It can be annoying if you are one of those people who absolutely MUST clear every flag on the map or be aggravated by that flag sitting there on your screen and it needs to go away now and then more keep popping up...
but otherwise it is a source of exp that is always there and takes minimal development time.
Is it worse than doing all 25 postmaster quests?
I wanted some Kupo Nuts...
The only difference between my hatred for the Churning Mists, and my hatred for King Moogle Mog EX is I can actually kill King Moogle Mog EX.
Oh look, people complaining about optional content again. I hardly did any of the moogle quests. If you don't like them, don't do them!
So your answer towards annoying design is to just ignore it and not try to let the developers know that their quests were super repetitive? Covering your mouth when you sneeze is optional too, but you don't tell people to not do it because they don't like it.
Also, if they did a bad job with Coil or Alexander, you can't be dumb and tell the people who are into raiding, "Hey, don't do it, if you don't like it. You have no right to complain, because it's optional."
...they are subquests. They're always repetitive and similar. They're just there for xp if you don't want to do dungeons. And yes, if the "annoying design" has zero impact on the actual game, I do ignore it. Please, give some ideas for more interesting subquests then.
Even as I love Heavensward I really don't want to white knight everything. I like the hide and seek quests because it adds atleast some variety, but adding 10 of them to the same location kinda kills the variety.
We need escort quests similar to ones in leves and defend NPCs quests similar to ones in FATEs etc..
Maybe some quests with minigames too.
I understand that these quests take longer time to make, but a few of them per each location would definitely kill the grind and help with variety.
if my hate for churning mists could be measured in people, i would be china
I really like side quests and their stories but the moogles quests are lawl lol...
I dont mind the odd ones in between about Mogleo joing pomguard and the eventual allusion to good king moggle mog and all that but the in-betweens of fetching nuts and playing hide and seek got a bit annoying, mostly because they are of the same nature and because the moogles are lazy.
So only me who found this moogle quest is fun and free exp.
Fly collect this and kill that, nothing much then u got exp just like that.
So far I have nothing to complaint yet I love it.
They had a couple of missed opportunities. In particular the stuff in the palace and the training drills the moogles were asking you to help them with. Would it have killed the developers to make each moogle a temporary follower during their respective quests instead of portraying them as lazy despite claiming otherwise?
The moogle quests made myself and the rest of my static refer to the Churning Mists as "Sidequest Hell".
That zone has been nicknamed "Moogle Hell"
I was actually complaining to my FC the other night about these quest.
SE Quest Designer Guy (QDG) #1 Hey Yoshi! How bout an epic quest where the player has to find some moogles that are hiding!
Yoshi: That sounds like a great idea!
(Short while later)
SE QDG #2 Yoshi! I got this great ques where the player has to find some moogles that have been lost!
Yoshi: Hmm, that does sound good although vaguely familiar..
SE QDG #3: Yo Yoshi, so I was thinking bout this quest where the player had to find these Moogles.. (continues on)
Yoshi: Um... Sure. Deja Vu..
This goes on for several hours, somehow making it into the game.
Anyone that pass the quest where you have to find the 5 Wildfowl Nests, would you like help me with something? Are all those 5 nests location are like atop of the tower area? What I mean is that none of them will be at the amphitheater(story quest) and below that, right?
The problem isn't the quests it's how they bombard you with the same quest over and over in the same zone. Look at the dragons and Gnath. food, food, food, food, hunt for food, get me food. forage food, kill him for taking my food. Moogles.. Find the moogles, find the baskets, find the moogles again, find em yet again, round up all the moogles. go find my baskets again, find the meaning of life, find my flower.
If they had just taken some effort in breaking it up!
I thought the Goblins were ten times worse. Run back and forth between same two points one quest at a time for three hours.
As a white mage, I loved these quests.
Do you have any idea how hard it is to kill 3-8 mobs of over and over again as a white mage? That and being a healer I'd prefer to help moogles than murder creatures.
