I kind of consider this as a bug or a feature that has not yet been fixed like it should actually be...
I for one do like to watch all my cutscenes when they come to me the first time. Now here's the problem, you're watching the most AMAZING and immersive cutscene and something on the market ward gets sold.... you get THE most annoying message right in the face, boom! I surely can't be the only one who finds this really annoying..?

Yeah, that's been an annoying aspect of the game since.. well... since the Beta. Sadly I'm not sure if there is any way to actually hide those annoying messages that intrude in cutscenes. I'm just putting it down to an oversight on SE's part that they've never corrected.

I'd also like to add there needs to be a way to hide your chatbox again if you accidently use it in a cutscene. Your cat hit the keyboard while you were watching the final MSQ cutscene? Oh well, maybe some FC/zone chat will enhance the experience! (not) Using scroll lock hides the dialogue text, too. -

Yep, I also find these messages annoying. Never manage to catch them while busy in the world, but when watching the cutscene? they flash like a rainbow!
And even worse when you feel like rewatching cutscenes in the inn and you get interrupted the same way :|

In Patch 3.1 we’re implementing a change that will stop messages, such as retainer venture announcements and market board sales, from displaying during cutscenes. Soon you’ll be able to sit back and be fully immersed in cutscenes without being interrupted by your pesky retainers. :)

Mind you, it'll remain hidden even after the cutscene - press enter to display it again. (Sorry, no idea of controller equivalents as I've been playing with keyboard+mouse since launch, but it probably works the same if you know how to do it?)Quote:

View the cs uninterrupted again by putting /busy on, then head to nearest town with inn, checkinto room and view whichever cs you want again by selecting it on replayer in room.

I remember watching my friends stream their Eternal Bond Ceremony when it first came out and their retainer was selling crap left, right, and center. A lot of people were giving them crap about it, it was kind of funny.
But when I had my EB ceremony, I made sure neither of my retainers were on ventures nor selling anything and I turned all chat noises off. >.< They really do ruin a cutscene. -

I've had those messages ruin perfectly good screen shots I'd take during the cutscenes. And I don't know it until I am done playing and I go looking at the screen shot.

Can it also be fixed so that enemies can't aggro you while you're watching cutscenes?? I remember while doing the HW quest, one of the ones before Bismarck I think, every time I tried to talk to someone and watch the cutscene I'd get interrupted and it would cancel because some mob was close by and aggroing me. It was quite frustrating.

I'd personally prefer not to have to keep clicking the screen to keep the CS advancing! THAT is what ruins my immersion more often. Just let it roll, but if you R click you can pause it instead.
