Levequest Nerf containment thread

・An experience cap has been set for all tradecraft and fisher levequests level 45 and below when completing them at level 50 and above.

Feel free to whine as much as you want in this thread, I guess.

I had just finished making 300 mega-potions of strength HQ. Just saying.

Anyone know how much exp these lv.45 levequest are now giving to 50+ classes?

Was gonna do a few turn-ins last night but was too tired after work ;_;

Ugh, last night I leveled my Weaver to 55 doing the 67k exp levequest, which gave about 134,000 after HQ bonus. This morning the leve is worth 3k. 6k after HQ bonus X.x;

Wow...this is just BS. Why the hell would they nerf it?! It takes a shit ton of leves to get to 60 anyway. Not only do we get nothing at level 60 but they made it much harder now to get there!!! WTF!!!

In a way I can understand that it's to push new content/levequests, but I'm still kinda annoyed. There are a few things at 60, anyway, in terms of quests, skills, and gear (and I'm pretty sure master book III has some recipes as well).

Caps at 3000 experience, 6000 HQ. Triple turn-ins give 3000 each time.

...Another factory mode happens just like when leveling 1-45 (the rest is from leve).

And I was just wondering why the courier leves I wanted to do for my Leatherworker only gave 3k exp. Many regrets not at least using them before to level all my classes to at least 55

Harder? Perhaps if you on only plan on leveling one class. Using the level 45 leves was a waste of allowances imo.

Go turn in collectibles. Leveling crafts is stupid easy. The hard part is finding people to gather the mats for you.

Pretty sure they did this so you guys couldn't use the leves you stockpiled to turn in day 1 of EA.

Well, that's the thing...hardly any of the mats for the new recipes are available or they are very expensive. I would rather craft a tourmaline choker for peanuts and get 200k+ exp a pop.

It might seem easier at first, but it will hurt in the long run; considering that youll probably want to max all crafting classes. By the time you start doing the rest you will probably have access to those materials.

This is how it was at ARR launch too. People were trying to level crafting before gathering and materials were scarce for a week or two.

Well, not like I have any other choice now that they nerfed the leves lol. Anyway, I'm still annoyed at the lack of recipes at 60 so I don't think i'll bother maxing them until we have more decent items to craft. Hopefully it will happen in the next update.

I understand they needed to be reduced. They were too effective, I was almost 55 GSM without much effort.

But this was too far. It would be nice to be able to burn my excess leves on them to get some benefit until I had materials/gear to do the higher level quests. i was REALLY bummed out when I turned one in this morning.

lvl 45 leves are good up to lvl 52 , at lvl 52 you unlock new tier of leves that has higher amount of XP , ofc you can keep grinding with lvl 45 leves but ... leve allowances!!!

Update , i checked something just now it appears that old leves are nerfed , i gained only 6000 xp from a lvl 45 leve 3 times , so cant be a mistake

The problem wasn't even the level 45 leve quests.

1) Level 50 leve quests weren't worth doing when compared to level 45
2) Level 50 couldn't be done because they were gated behind level 60 nodes
3) Level 60 nodes can't be reached because they are gated behind a level 58 msq

I'm 60 in all my crafters, didn't use a single leve's. Had three friends each push a gatherer and they fed me mats, explore new recipe, do some (not many) collectibles and done. They didn't think out crafting very much. The new master books offer nothing worth crafting. Unless red scripts introduce something incredible, it's going to be pointless to be a crafter or a gatherer. No demand for it, law gear is already significantly better than anything a crafter can make.

I guess it all depends on how you did things, but I was 54 on day one from the new leve for gsm. It was just a matter of desynthing NPC gear for materials. I really don't feel like there was much of an advantage to this considering the new leve give out 180K+ exp for the lvl 50 leve. You still had to wait for lvl 54+ mats to become available to do the new crafting class quests. This was either by unlocking higher tier NPC gear through MSQ yourself to desynth, or by gatherers finally getting to them. I went the desynth route, as I am now selling hardsilver ingots and such I get for a 20k NPC item lol.

I also did this with weaver and am now working on alchemy. Any way you slice it, leveling a craft from 50-60 was way too easy.

I had a revelation about this today. I think the lack of crafted gear is because grade 5 materia wasn't ready yet.

Some people were level 60 in a matter of hours doing the lvl 45 leves. You could get 213k min or 239k max by crafting items that cost pretty much nothing. Unless you have gathering levelled up or know someone that can gather the new mats for you, the lvl 45 leves was the quickest way back then. Some people also took advantage of this by selling a lot of the lvl 45 leve items.

I'm not sure if SE mentioned anything about all these stuff not being in the game yet. I thought the only thing they needed to add was the Alexander raid.

No they didn't, but I wouldn't blame them for keeping quiet if I'm right. Grumblings from it being late would be better than the backlash of having it turn into grade 4 materia, then changing it later. That and if had come out now, that would make it the best gear in the game. Just think what that would have done to the economy. No, I'm sure they're holding back. The question is when.
