Unable to link PS4 digital download to existing service account

I recently purchased the FFXIV Online bundle for PS4. I have an existing Square Enix account, and an active service account for FFXIV: A Realm Reborn for Windows PC. When the bundle became available today at 9:00PM PST, I attempted to follow the steps on screen on my PS4, but I received an error message stating "No valid service account is available to play FINAL FANTASY XIV. In order to play FINAL FANTASY XIV, you must first purchase the digital download from the PlayStation Store or register a product code." I have purchased it from the store, and it is fully downloaded and installed, so either that error message is misleading, or something else is amiss. The way I understand it, if I were to create another service account to get past this message on PS4, I would be unable to use my character associated with my existing service account, which has been active since before A Realm Reborn. Obviously, because of the commitment I have to this character, that isn't an option for me. I was also led to believe through several sources that I would be able to play the same character on PC as well as PS4. I love this game on PC, and I was hoping to enjoy it on the PS4 as well, so please let me know if I can take any steps, or if you need any additional information to resolve this issue.

I'm having the exact same issue and have tried everything on my end to try a to work around it and am getting more frustrated by the minute.

Same problem here - I just created a post myself with my purchase info and details on my investigation up to this point.

I think something is wrong with this product we bought from the Playstation Store, or we were supposed to get an email containing a code for our ARR/Heavensward purchase.

This is somewhat related to the thread I just made and seems to give a hint as to the answer I was looking for.

It seems like this bundle is only intended for new service accounts and if you wanted the ps4 version you'll need to pick up ARR and HW seperatly to be able to use your main service account. That's what it's looking like to me at least (maybe it's to do with the fact it gives 30 days free time).

Few problems with this theory...
1 - When you run the game, why the hell would it ask me if I have an account or if I want to make a new one?
2 - You cannot buy ARR from Playstation Network.
3 - You cannot buy Heavensward from Playstation Network.
4 - And now, you cannot even buy this "Final Fantasy Online XIV" (both ARR/HW) from Playstation Network.

If it's true that this version of the game is only for new accounts, then I want to see where it states that in the product description because that's pretty stupid if that's the case and would be a dumb move on SE's part.0

It may also just be miscommunication between Square Enix and PSN, because although the bundle became available at 9pm PDT, there was scheduled maintenance between 10pm and 2 am PDT. Theoretically, this means that there was an hour of play time for non early access members if they got this bundle. However, I don't think even PC players with Heavensward (non early access) would have been able to play during that time, though someone correct me if I'm wrong. I'm going to wait before creating a new service account (and losing all of my progress on my existing one), to see if this is the issue. Although it would be really helpful for a Square Enix rep to chime in to let us know for sure.

I'm too, having this very same problem. I Bought this bundle 2 weeks ago prior to this event, I own ARR on PC and bought the Bundle for ps4. I was told at the time the reason why I couldn't play ARR was because I had basically pre-installed ARR + HW and that my Registration Codes has yet to activate. I thought this was wrong in my eye's cause I should atleast been able to play the base game on PS4 if I wanted too. Anyhow he told me I would have early access when the 19th came and I did not have it. I sent in multiple emails to them about this problem since the 19th and have yet to get a proper answer to this issue.

When it asks if i have an account already ( I do) I put in my info and the next screen tells me I don't have a valid service account and that I need to buy the digital copy or register a code.

Having the same issue with the bundle, I owned ARR for PS4 and PC already. I put the disc in, linked it to my existing account, and the mob station now shows as having heavenward linked and licensed but I cannot access Heavenward features in game.

Could your theory about the bundle be right?

BUMP - Not cool - Bought a game off the Playstation Network that I can't play - I already own an account and pay a monthly sub, I'm NOT starting a new Service Account which will force me to pay the sub fee for the new account, not to mention the basic loss of character(s).

I hope Square enix fixes this because I want to play what I have paid for...

Woke up and got ready for work... posted the BUMP... figured what the hell I'll give it a try quick... working now it seems.

How strange... Maybe it just took time for it to register correctly? I will try again shortly myself.

Lord you won't be able to play any HW content anyway unfortunately. YOU do not have a level 50 character yet, let alone one which has completed the entire pre-HW scenario.

Do I need a lv 50 character to even create an au ra character? Because they are locked the same as if I didn't own the expansion...

Mine started working this morning around 5:30am EST. I I'm currently updating again cause my PS4 shut off, But now while patching you may encounter a "unable to patch" with these numbers [20512] / [20496]. These are the same numbers from my research that others have gotten based on ISP connection issues. They said to just continue trying to update you may get it in 3 trys or 12 trys. I'm on my 3rd try and i'm currently updating rest of the patch files that consist 9gbs of data which is the rest of Heavnsward data. Hope this helps.
