Machinist's Clean Shot Animation

Does Clean Shot's animation bug anyone else? For the most part in my short leveling experience with machinist, their skill animations have been pretty tame but more or less functionally practical:

Shoot with both hands while aiming, shoot with one hand, shoot with one hand and have a bigger recoil, drop to one knee to two-hand fire some big wind bullet, shoot what looks like a flare in the air and let it land on them for a dot... and then we have for some reason a jump into the air 360noscopeblazeitmlgshot. I mean come on, really? Why? Why are you doing that? Does the sweet aerial twirl somehow make the bullet hurt more? Stop.

In a game where people are shooting fireballs out of their hands and sprouting massive wings from their backs I don't expect anyone to really agree with me, but I thought I'd just throw my feelings out there.

Lol, it's quite simple really: kicking ass is one thing. Doing it with style is where it's at. :P

I find i really enjoy flashy over-exaggerated animations; I enjoyed Windbite on BRD way more than I should have.

I would rather the focus be on the shots looking cool rather than me looking cool shooting.

However MCH is pretty light on the animations (far uglier than BRD) so I'll take what I can get.

That flip adds inertia to the bullet, making it does more damage

Mutilate animation is awesome especially if you are locked and strafing out of an aoe while doing it. I like the animations in this game honestly. It adds some eye candy to the mix.

Well, you aren't the only one bothered by it... of that I am sure, since I am a fellow "wtf was that" person in that regard.

That fire reminds me of shooting the .460 magnum. Hand cannon. Sombitch fires cartridges the size of AA batteries.

Why do they do it? Because it'd be boring as hell if your character just stood there going pew pew for every single skill.

Only thing that bothers me about ninjas are the main combo moves are all variations of itself, spin around and slash. Start out slow, maybe just do a normal stab and work your way up to the acrobatics.

Mchs on the other hand have a different problem since the first two semi-combo moves are just 'stand there and fire'. That's why people watching say 'Boy, mch sure looks boring'. Because while you're actually doing a lot it sure doesn't look like it. Clean shot actually adds a bit of flair and certainly isn't the problem. But it's relatively uncommon, because actually getting the full combo is luck/cooldown based. While nin starts going all out and doesn't build up it's flash mch starts looking basic and doesn't really build up to anything from there.

The second shot in the combo needs something to distinguish it from the first.

In NIN's defense, when using a lot of your CD's when on GCDs you get amazing animation effects. I Shadow Fang>Jungulate. Whereas MCH using CD's inbetween GCDs is like "I shoot like an awesome cowboy".

Boring? It's a gun of course you should be standing there pew pewing things. The sound effects are very satisfying. I don't feel the need to be Neo. Reassemble for instance feels awesome right before you blast someone for (sub)par damage. And all it is, is a big pew.

Maybe if Clean Shot's round exploded on impact or something I could accept the 360 noscope, but as it is right now I cringe just a little every time I fire it. I just don't see a reason for it, even in a fantasy-logic perspective.

I rationalize it as my character jumping to get a 'cleaner' shot on the targets head.

Pft clean shots animation isn't bad compared to the Gauss Barrel, I'ma chargin my shot, proceeds to wave the gun about pointing it in the air then last second point at enemy. That is a bad/lazy animation.
