Error 2002 for everyone.
Entire FC kicked offline and we cannot re-connect.
Been having this problem for the past two days.
But, hey, it must be my connection, right Square? Why fix a problem when you can ignore it?
Same here, can't log in! T_T FC all just got kicked off as well.
Yup been 20 minutes since I got kicked off, still can't get back on.
Bonus: unsubscribe = lowered population on overpopulated servers!
Yeah, haven't been able to log in for the past 40 minutes myself and I'm on the Aether data center. Tried other data centers and they all work. It wouldn't be so annoying if it didn't kick of the client.
Launch is going to be hell. It is going to be worse. Please stop ignoring these problems or you'll just have even more whiney players. No one wants whiney players. Everyone wants happy players!
Ugh. I understand the difficulties associated with these kinds of releases but this is still super frustrating. I'm an adult with a kid and only able to play some at night, when the NA data centers are apparently overloaded, and I'm getting a little bitter that everyone who's had time to stay connected all day is rewarded by being able to continue playing while I'm functionally locked out of early access. :(
+1 here....

And after 30secs or so...

Did try the suggestion of switching Datacenter's and back, but didnt seem to work for me.
They know how many pre-orders they sold, they knew what to expect....they did nothing to prepare. Deja vu from the original launch. Not a way to keep your returning players.
Why should SE deal with significant expenses to prepare for 1 week? It makes little sense from their end. Anyone who likes the game enough to pay a continuous subscription fee voluntarily will deal with a temporary annoyance and move on. People who don't like the game enough to put up with something like this for a few days are not the people who would have kept paying a subscription fee for months and years to come, by and large. And those folks have already bought the base game, so SE's got about as much cash as it's going to from them.
I get it. I'm as annoyed at being unable to get on as you all are, and I'd love if we had super-awesome-amazing servers that could handle any load or DDOS without going down. But really. This nonsense will fix itself up fast, and in a month no one will remember or care. Go out and watch a movie. Go to the pool. Remember that pet you bought? Go see if s/he's still alive. We'll live just fine without our e-crack for a short while, I promise.
Posts like this annoy the hell out of me. If this were a free to play game I would be with you, however I paid $60 for this pre-order on top of a monthly subscription to play this game. I don't want to hear the problem will be resolved in a month, unless it comes with a refund for the monthly fee for the said month.
And I am extremely bored with implying people unhappy with the service need to go outside and "get a life". I work 40+ hours per week, I spend time with my family away from the pc altogether. But when it is my time to enjoy my hobby, the one I am PAYING for, that is what I want to do. So how about YOU go outside, go to the pool, go watch a movie, and stop telling us how we should feel about this.
If you complain loudly enough to customer service, I'd be willing to bet there's a decent chance you can get 2/30th of your ~15 dollar/month sub refunded (+ or - 1/30 depending on if it goes on a third day). Don't spend all that money at once.Quote:

Early Access..unless you're on the Aether data center..Then it's just a game of luck.
Most of this has already been said.. but i agree with the above. Of course they know exactly how many presales they sold for this game. That stuff is closely tracked by their financial people. SE promised early access plus some in game items, and in return they took our money, extra in fact because we paid more for the expansion for these extras. Now they have ALL our money, 100%.. and only deliver on HALF of what was promised. Imagine if ANY other business did this.. take the full amount and only give you half the product.. people would burn down the building. But oh nooo.. not square.. its just normal business for them. Listen SE, You charge us for the game.. you charge us for the expansion.. you also charge us monthly fees. I pay all these things gladly and Ill give you credit. .you got a great game! (when we can play it) I love all the content.. but seriously.. you've taken hundreds and hundreds of dollars from me and everyone else.. funny thing is you've never ever had a problem getting my money.. but it seems like i and many others here, often have problems using what we are paying for. Why do we, the people who "pay extra" for these "collector sets/early access/blahblahblah" get to be your guniea pigs? I say that if every one of us who are having these problems logging in "early access" ask for 50% refunds. If you can only deliver us 50% of what you offered, then why should we pay full price?? Seeing how this is already day 2 of 4 of the early access.. im pretty sure this issue will not be solved before the games full launch. So again SE.. what did we pay all the extra $$ for? Maybe a few thousand angry customers requests flooding your customer service might help teach you a lesson. Oh, and btw.. neat little trick lunching on a FRI when your customer services are only open mon-fri 9 to 5. Classy move.. kinda looks to me like you knew this would happen.. and this way you can avoid a massive flood of pissed off people blowing up your phones. Good one.
As much as I hate this, what extra money did anyone pay for Heavensward? The game's price is its price, there was nothing extra charged for Early Access. It'll still be $40 next week, and likely the week following, outside of third party sales. If there was no Early Access it would've been the same and you'd have lost the same game time. This happens every MMO/expansion launch, and to be quite honest a few disconnects on the SECOND day is the best experience I've had thus far.
I haven't been able to connect all day, getting the same 2002 error.
Seriously, SE, fix your crap!
And if it were to go on for a month, or a week, I'd completely agree that it's a very serious problem needing to be more properly addressed.Quote:
It's the principle, but 50 cents adds up fairly quickly if it goes on too long.
If it goes on for 2 or 3 days right at launch... I'm annoyed. Everyone's annoyed. I get it. But we can rage all we want, and it won't make things better. It'll just help us annoy ourselves more. If it's truly a matter of principle to you then I would genuinely say you should ignore my sarcastic last sentence and actually go try to get your 2/30th of 15 dollars back. If that makes you feel whole, more power to you. For what it's worth, I agree you're entitled to that refund. Otherwise, until/unless this becomes a longstanding issue, I really think that being "zen" about it is probably the best thing you can do to keep yourself happy. If someone disagrees and thinks that venting on here is more helpful, I certainly can't (and won't) stop them. Just saying though. Rage usually just leads to more rage, rather than making one feel settled.
I've decided to invade the Japanese data centers until the problem is fixed. Wow, it's so smooth over here.
Why is the fact we did not pay extra for early access relevant? We still paid, and we paid prior to them having to deliver. That money goes into an interest earning account, they make money off of it while we wait months for the actual product. Either way, we still paid. We are not asking for something for free here. I just want to be able to enjoy what I paid for. Everyone else but Aether is....
Connection errors imo are no excuse. you did pre orders, you knew how many you sold, you should have been prepared with your stupid data centers which have been a continued annoyance to all of us since you implemented them
I can connect to the data center and select my toon.. even sit in queue.. i get to 1 and it never advances. Even watched my wife do the same after i did.. and count down to 1 and sit there.
Connection for either says Poor. Connection to every other data center says Excellent. I get down to 1 in the queue and still can't get in. You guys really screwed us. I agree with the above poster. You knew how many preorders you sold, so this whole We couldn't predict this is hogwash. You owe us a good experience nd you ruined it by ignoring the problem.
Did North America, both over world server set groups, get server upgrades, like I heard the Europe servers got? Not certain on all of that, could use clarification there. Also heard AFK spam bots are clogging everything in the Aether worlds, thanks to a no afk boot policy.
And does Aether just have far more players, than any other overworld, or we just got that many more afk spammers clogging it all up? Someone is getting in, and setting up camp, like a bunch of Kobolds outside Ul'dah or such, it feels like.
Would like some objective (not emotionally subjective,) answers here, since we're stuck on the outside waiting here.
Starting to feel a bit like the server crashes Star Trek Online is chronic with here. Or at least reminded of it here, forums and all. :)
Well, that sucks.
Same problem here. Can't log in to Aether data center. I can log into other ones. It would be nice to at least have the problem acknowledged so that we know it's being worked on.
I love how they make an update proudly proclaiming they fixed the problem and by all intents it's FUBAR.
I hope a lot of people demands a refund for this quality of service.
Went and did some other things and came back to try it again, was actually hopeful....still can't log in. Wow SE, get better before the next expansion please. You are not good at this whole release thing.
I purchased ARR 22 days ago to try it out since most of us at the office are tired of WoW right now. Played it on and off during this time because of work and other activities. And then after the update a few days ago I consistently get error 2002 when trying to log on. I haven't been able to log in at all to Aether. When it comes to any other server that I DON'T play on, I log in no problem. Reading here, seems as if SE likes to turn their deaf ear to people who have issues.
Will I continue with FF 14? Maybe. I am going to let it go for a bit before I pay for a sub so that way I don't get boned out of the money which I have to work for.
Hopefully for all of you who do have subs get some game time added to your account in compensation for the inability to log into the data center.
So much for early access.
Well, i just came back to this game after 3-4 years and now it's f***ng down ...
Just the Aether data center JUST THAT ONE i have been trying for hours to log in my new character without any luck, why did i pay for the monthly service :(
